  1. Please don't hold it against me but I've been doing a cache a day for August souvenirs - yes I am embarrassed and really need to get to a session of CA (cacher's anonymous). I do think they're completely worthless as in you don't have to do or go anywhere even remotely interesting to obtain them. While better but not great would have been, one (1) souvenir for caching all 31 days in August. I am hoping that Groundspeak will not make this the norm. Grabbing any old D1/T1 for a souvenir is way too much like completing one of those disastrous "Challenges" that failed absolutely miserably - and then some... So please, Groundspeak - don't cheapen Souvenirs any more that what August has done to them, or at least save us from total embarrassment and let us deselect the ones we don't want people seeing we obtained (like all of August). So in a nutshell; Embarrassing Should not be the norm Embarrassing De-selectable like our other stats.
  2. I still need to make the trip to Toronto to grab stage 1. I've been putting off because of the near 40C heat we've been having. Other than that just hold on to them until we get cachers to grab the coords in the other places. Then we'll share the coords to find the final (via private emails). You can't log a cache as found until you find stage 2 with our help. Then we all take a find on it. Hold tight, the other coords are coming. Cheers,
  3. I will try to get there this weekend (Sunday). If it's not this weekend, rest assured it will be the following.
  4. Here's the note posted on the Toronto cache page. Guess it's still findable with the remaining caches. "Note: there used to be a total of seven caches in the series, but due to various changes in some of the statue locations, two of the caches had to be archived. The coordinates on the first stages of all the remaining caches have been re-done to make it possible to continue locating all the remaining caches in the series."
  5. I'm in. I can grab the one in Toronto. Guess we should search for local cachers in the other locations. Let me know it that sound good and we'll go from there.
  6. I think reading the other posts would have been useful on this point. This decision had nothing to do with Moun10Bike's willingness to take care of this cache. He has been indefatigable in his efforts to keep it going. Thanks Addisonbr, point taken but while I haven't read them all - I have read enough of them and perhaps I've very unfairly lumped Lackeys and GS into the same group, moderators of our game. Personally, in my opinion, if you're one of the 3082 cachers to of walked the "Tunnel of Light" already then you really shouldn't be in the debate about whether it lives or dies a tragic death. You've got it, yeah!!! Give the rest of us a chance to do the same. I see this as giving the 5 million others cachers a chance to grab an Ape without having to apply for a visa or take malaria pills to find. Many, who have not had the means or time yet to travel thousands of miles, rent vehicles and hike hours through the woods. This cache should not be a case of "too bad - so sad" and I for one really hope that the Lackeys at GS reconsider their decision. Jack2U
  7. I haven't read all of the other post yet but I will add my two cents to the topic. I'm PO'ed. Archiving one of the two most iconic caches left out there is a bad thing. If Moun10Bike is tired of taking care of this monumental cache, then let someone else take it over. There certainly seems to be a lot of cachers willing to step-up to the plate on this one. Guess we can now all go look for some crap skirt lifters... GS, you really need to rethink your decision on this one. Jack2U
