  1. I am in British Columbia and as for showing examples....well that would be like calling out someone and I don't want to do that. There are a few someones in particular, who get my goat. Yes it is them attacking and bullying the CO particularily....directly speaking to them in the log....some cache owners will delete the logs. I just thought that one of the things (#6 to be exact) of the Geocachers Creed was "Be Considerate of Others" http://www.geocreed.info/ I understand saying something about the cache like the mud, or bees nest or needles etc., but saying how someone put it on private property and it should be archived and how could someone be so stupid to think that they could put a cache here. Straight out going for the CO in a log isn't appropriate in my books at all. I consider that bullying. "Oh another micro? Oh I hate micros...Micros and forests...two things I hate and this is both of them... "<---that isn't considerate, that is not nice at all. That is just rude. I understand it is just a game I just wondered how you all felt, I figured there would be some that saw it as ok, and some that didn't. As they say, you are hooped if you do and hooped if you don't I guess there isn't any right or wrong....BUT....if we are to follow the geocreed (I win hee hee)
  2. Hello there I have a big pet peeve and it is Bullies in caching. The main thing that they do is log negativity on caches which I feel should be done privately. I have brought this forward to our forum board, but not many answered and I was quite disappointed. People like to keep 'face' which is understandable, but I feel that if it isn't brought forward then it won't be stopped. Then again....I may be wrong right? At least I hope not. The logs are for posting your finds and adventure of the find per se, right? Not to post negativity towards the CO in the sense of being brash. That should be done in an email if need be right? Ok I am done I am just wondering, what are logs for really? what is your opinion?
  3. My husband has the same gps and you and he sometimes has a few problems with the distance, but I have to say that he finds what he is looking for eventually....lol I agree with the coming in from different angles....I also find if I stand still long enough the gps stops and will reset the distance.....and if I change the page button a few times it gets itself reset. Congrats on your two finds in the previous linked thread
  4. Congratulations!!!!! Just reading your 'Confused and Wandering' thread and was happy to be brought to this one. Keep up the great work!
  5. I have found a Micro using just my iPhone...it isn't impossible.
  6. This is awesome! I had never heard of mystery coins or cointests until now. What a great way to brighten someones day! Thanks for sharing all the information.
  7. I have to agree with your views. I have been caching for almost 6 months now, and have noticed how much people want the numbers and icons. I am a TB lover and when I take a TB, it is taken everywhere with me. To events, camping, trips, school, etc. and pictures are taken and posted. If I can't drop the TB right away, I ensure I let the owners know. If the TB doesn't have a 'Who am I' tag, I make one for it. No bag? I give it one. And I also put a little travelling bug tag from me on it (if I can). I do agree with the idea of not being able to log it until you drop it off, but what about those that find the cache, discover the TB, and want to post that they discovered it? There isn't any harm in discovering a TB as you are stating you saw it and you aren't taking it.
  8. I am not understanding the 'caching with a friend and dropping the TB back in the cache so the friend can log it'. Why not just take the TB and have the friend discover it? or leave the TB there and both of you discover it. Opening a cache and seeing a TB is discovering it, as you just discovered the cache itself. Discovering a TB is not harmful to the travel miles of any TB, it just states that you saw the TB. I have done this many times, as a friend of mine (like me) loves to take TB's on adventures. So when we are on an adventure together, we bring out the TB's, talk about them like where we found them, how we found them, etc. and sometimes trade them. We also discover each others TB's. I personally don't feel there is any harm is discovering a TB IF you have seen it personally. As for taking pictures with the number showing...sometimes it is a simple mistake and can be easily corrected. It is sad that some people use this to their advantage, but it is like that in any part of this game. We have recently seen devastation to plant life and veggetation due to people wanting to be FTF. It is all about the numbers for some and not about the enjoyment of the game.
