  1. I have Mapsend DirectRoute CD I am selling for $99 + Shipping. Add automated street routing with turn-by-turn directions to your Magellan® GPS handheld receiver! This is not a copy but the real deal.... I also prefer PayPay please. MapSend DirectRoute makes getting where you’re going even easier using your Magellan Meridian® Color, Meridian Platinum, Meridian Gold, or Meridian Marine, SporTrak® Color, SporTrak Pro, or SporTrak Pro Marine GPS handheld receiver.
  2. WTG J, I'm right behind you... Congrats
  3. Thx Metaphor, thats one on my to-do list already, that and Anapolis rock. Just need to drag my butt up there...
  4. Sorry if this topic is a rehash of past but I searched for "favorite Caches" and got 2 hits. Both unrelated to the topic. So what I want to know is what are some of your favorite caches and why. I live in MD so I would be partial to hear about some from my area. Some of the contributing factors could be: Location, Terrain, View, Cache container, The hunt, What was inside, Technique used to hide it or imagination. Thanks.
  5. Well, I lurk here around once a week but rarely make any posts. If I post at all it's usually to answer a question, never to submit my opinion. It seems as soon as you do you will get flamed by the locals. You watch, I just broke my own rule.
  6. In this cache I place a brand new 80 gig Hard Drive for the FTF.
  7. Vlad If I hold mine up against a light source horizontally (thin ways) I can see light the whole length of the battery compartment. In other words "above the battery itself - not merely the edges" I mean if I were to drop this thing in water for a second the whole compartment would be soaked for sure. Hell, I'm afraid to drop the unit anywhere I hike in fear of dirt getting in there. I spent around $400 (bundle) to get this unit I definately feel it should be better than this. Now the unit has chosen to periodically turn itself off (always when I need it most) and I'm starting to think its related somehow. Maybe I got a defective unit or something, but I shudder to think of the return hassels as it was an online purchase and not from magellan. Thanks to all that replied BTW.
  8. I just recently bought a Meridian Gold. I'm happy with the performance of the unit, however the battery lid doesn't appear to fit very well. If I hold the unit up against the light I can see right through the battery lid. This concerns me because Megellan says this unit is supposed to be waterproof. Yea right! Is anyone else finding this to be the case or is it my model only?
  9. ncflyers' point I think was simply by definition, a "nature Reserve" is reserved for nature... If we start using it for cache hunting then it is no longer reserved for that purposes anymore is it?
  10. Night caches offers another variety to the game/sport. Most night caches I know of don't take to the boonies or deep into the woods (if they did I would go myself), but rather to parking lots or somewhere relatively easy to access. One of the beauties of a sport in its infancy (like geocaching) is to see how the contributors shape and mold the game. This is one further way and although it doesn't appeal to all--it certainly appeals to some. Just check out the logs. Personally I like added challenge of nightfall, so long as its safe!!
  11. >>>I've Logged My Visit, used Type of Log (found it), made my entry and submitted it. This does not seem to get the TB icon posted to the cache page. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help. Your forgetting one thing. At the bottom the log screen there is a small window which shows you all the TB's in your possession. At the time you make your log entry just highlight which TB you dropped off before submitting your log entry.
  12. I just tried this and it works fine for me. I would try the suggestion og logging off and then back on. Another way to accomplish this is to check the box on the listing of cache pages (Before you enter the individual page) and then select Download Waypoints [button] at the bottom of the page. Also if you are a premium member you could create a pocket query to download any/all of the waypoints you want based on certain criteria [filters] you select.
  13. Thanks for the thread.... Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  14. Has anyone noticed their cache listings have been re-formatted to remove all extra lines. I just realized that all my caches have all been reduced to 1 paragraph. Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  15. I have the same GPS as you and it sounds like yours is working as well as mine does. With experience you will see sometimes you get lucky and the GPS'r will walk you right up to withinin 3ft and sometimes it can be as much as 50 ft off bouncing around from this way to that way. Depends on cloud/tree coverage. Just stick with it and soon you learn to trust it just to get you the general location and then rely on instinct and experience to locate the cache. Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  16. Private Investigator. I mostly cache on the weekends because I want to keep it a family event. Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  17. Thanks Prime Suspect. I thought that would be too good to be true! Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  18. Great news! I'm glad for your family. Always wonderful to hear when these situations turn out well, so few do. Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  19. OK, novice question coming up... I have saved several maps while using ExpertGps but have no idea how to upload them to my Megellan Sportrak Map. Can this even be done? Bounty Hunter for Hire - Cache only!
  20. I have a brand new (in box) Maxtor 80 gig Hard Drive which I will swap for Mapsend Streets and destinations USA.
  21. Well I think this is dreadful too, who is he? what's his handle? I keep reading these posts and all I see is "Him". I too buy and sell here and just don't want to be burned either.
  22. I will trade you a Maxtor 80 gig HD (brand new in box) for it if you like?
  23. Brand new in box Maxtor 80 gig hard drive. I will swap for Mapsend street and/or topo. Really looking for street maps though.
  24. I don't believe there are any caches in the area just hoping for someone to contact from that area... I could use Montreal but was hoping for the most remote area possible.. I could also use New Jersey if I use west coords which is a lot closer to me. Simply not the point here, I know its a stretch but I thought it was better than choosing the Southern Hemisphere which, would have made it Antartica, brrr.
