  1. Oh so it's not just me then. Hope it gets sorted before a flood of orders comes through.
  2. Got mine from Towsure, at the time I couldn't find anywhere cheaper. See HERE Richard
  3. Thanks for the replies. Just for info incase anyone else might be going. I found the visitor centre at Ballachulish about 4 miles from Glencoe has internet access for £1 per half hour, so I was able to log half a dozen caches for a quid, not bad I thought. Richard.
  4. Were staying in Glencoe for a couple of weeks starting 10July05 and intend doing a spot of caching. Does any one know if there's an internet café or better still open WiFi somewhere near? It's not essential just thought it would be nice to log our finds while there. Richard.
  5. If it's not to late I would like 2 please. Thanks Richard
  6. Works fine on mine. Gpxsonar installed in main memory and GPX file on sd card. I'm using a Ipaq 3950 with ppc 2003 and the latest Gpxsonar 1.3.1 Richard
  7. You can also generate TomTom overlays with GSAK. Richard
  8. I have a gps mouse mounted on the dash of my car (for in car navigation with my PDA) , it's been there for over a year and been faultless usually locking after 20-30 seconds, but last Sunday after half a hour it still hadn't locked, I stopped the car and turned on my yellow e-trex and got a lock straight away, so then thinking the mouse gps had died I just carried on driving, then after around 10 Mins It locked!! and has worked perfectly since. So why it took so long on that one occasion I don't know, good job I knew where I was going and wasn't relying on it. Richard
  9. Just like to say THANKS for the superb new version. MemoryMap export and Macro enhancements are the icing on the cake for me. Brilliant program Many Thanks Richard.
  10. How about a Puzzle cache Ebay US I like the bit "play with the English language" I thought that was standard practice over there
  11. I haven’t looked at the Emtac price for awhile, when I bought mine over a year ago £160 was the cheapest I could find, if they’re down to £99 then its about the same price if not slightly cheaper than the SysOnChip. I see that GlobalPositioningSystems do the SysOnChip with 256MB of memory built in which is useful See Here. Another thing to check out is the SysOnChip uses SiRF XtracII chipset and the Emtac uses SiRF Star II e/LP chipset. I don’t know which is best, might be worth starting a new topic and asking. Richard.
  12. I've used the Emtac gps jacket for just over a year and find it very good, it's not as bulky as a CF gps and has a CF slot so you can still use a CF memory card. On the down side it's more expensive than a CF gps. By the way the Emtac web site now shows the gps jacket as discontinued. Richard
  13. Paul, I got mine from Ebay like THIS HERE it just plugs in to the charge/sync connector on the Ipaq. If you don't want to use Ebay just search the web for "Ipaq battery charger extender" you should find lots of places that sell them. Richard.
  14. It’s pretty good, I've not actually timed how long the battery lasts with and without the emtac jacket so I can’t give you any times, but my general feeling is that it doesn’t reduce the battery life by much. If I go out for a day caching I plug it into the car charger while driving between caches, if it’s a long walk to the cache I tend turn the ipaq off until I’m close to the cache site, also of course the backlight setting can make quite a difference, must admit mine is usually permanently on and full brightness. I bought a battery charger from Ebay, cost about £4. It takes 4 AA batteries and plugs into the Ipaq, it powers the Ipaq and also charges the battery, they say one set of Duracells will charge the Ipaq about 4 times. I always take it with me but so far have never needed to use it. The Emtac jacket is quite expensive but it does work well and with memory-map & TomTom I find it a very useful tool. Richard.
  15. I have a Emtac GPS jacket which I use on my Ipaq 3950, it works fine with Memory Map and TomTom. I've had mine just over a year and its worked perfectly. If you're going to use it for caching you might be interested in the PDA Armor cover. HERE Its a aluminium cover that slides over a Ipaq jacket/sleeve (in this case the Gps jacket) and has a hinged door that opens sideways, makes the ipaq slightly bigger but is great for protecting the screen when your out and about caching. Richard.
  16. Franson Gpsgate Here will let you share your gps com port with several applications at the same time. The cost is $29 which is about £17. You can also get a 14day free trial. It works well for me.
  17. This is great. I was running a script in GSAK to generate separate files for found, not found, owned etc and then running a macro in a text editor to change the symbols and then combine all the files into one but this is much easier. The only problem I have found is with our caching name Lennie’s Keepers, if I change the owner in the xsl file to owner='Lennie's Keepers' it doesn’t like the apostrophe in Lennie’s, as apostrophe is used to indicate the start and finish of the name having one in the middle confuses it. Anyway many thanks for this, should give me something to tinker around with when I’m not out caching. Cheers
  18. Ooops jumped in without reading it properly. What I said previously is correct with OS 2004 so maybe it applies to 2002 as well, worth checking for any updates. Richard.
  19. What version do you have? There was an update to V4.2.1 released recently which you must install, earlier versions seem to timeout and stop working. You can get it from http://www.memory-map.co.uk/downloads.htm Richard
  20. Ah, that explains things. I tried to place an order yesterday but couldn’t. The web shop is there displaying all the various items and prices but you can’t actually select anything to put it in the shopping basket. I’m sorry it didn’t work out, It’s a really good (FREE) site and its nice to be able to give some support for all the hard work.
  21. Can anyone tell me who these people / dogs are? Pics are HERE Thanks
  22. But I'm happy with mine, I don't want to change it.
  23. Bought a PDA and GPS sleeve for car navigation, then did a search on Google for other useful GPS software and stumbled across Geocaching.com. I thought this looks interesting but I bet there aren't many caches in this country. WOW was I wrong, 2500 then over 3000 now.
