  2. quote:Originally posted by Jeeters:I saw a FTF logging for a cache that was recently placed where the finder actually went into the woods with the cache owner and 'found' the cache 10 minutes after it was hidden. Basically, it seemed they hiked in together but the FTF'r waited out of site for the cache to be placed then the owner pretty much said "it's hidden. go for it." Then the FTF'r searched the area, found the cache, and even claimed the FTF prize which he said he didn't think was a big deal since his friend had left so much other good stuff in the cache anyways. LAME!!!! .-=Amish_Hacker=-. ==Clippy Clop Clippy Clop Bang Bang Clippy Clop== '=-Amish Drive By-='

  8. Am I just missing something that is obvious? What is the meaning behind this hand signal? How did it get started? Do you have any other pics with this signal? If so POST IT .-=Amish_Hacker=-. [This message was edited by AmishHacker on October 30, 2003 at 07:47 PM.]
  9. YEP YEP J&MBella. The "Not beeingt able to go anywhere without checking if there's a cache nearby" is my issue. If I go anywhere I HAVE TO CHECK or it feels like a big waste of resources if I do not. .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  10. quote:Originally posted by TeamX40:I wonder if there is any way to determine the cache population center of the country. That would change every day. It would be intresting if there was a program that would generate the current cache center that would continue to update .-=Amish_Hacker=-.

  14. Thanks for the pics Zartimus. Humm signing the area..in the snow..never thought of that. It would be nice of anyone else has snow caching pics to post .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  15. This is my first year of Caching, so this will be my first winter Caching. Do any of you go out in the snow and try to find caches. Most caches are located on the ground and we can get deep snows in our area. What do you do when it snows? .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  16. Yes, please take pics and post. I wonder how the contents in Ammo Boxes would fend. I am sure they get real hot! .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  17. Sorry about the test post. I like pages that are dressed up. I do a little dressing up on my cache pages (Click) but have not changed many colors yet. I really like using "The Selector" .-=Amish_Hacker=-.

  20. quote:Originally posted by Bloencustoms:Last time I looked, caches are supposed to be approved within two days of submission. If two days have passed, I see nothing wrong with a cacher asking an approver to look into the delay. However, "cutting in line" isn't fair. [This message was edited by Bloencustoms on March 32, 1999 at 25:60 PM] agree Bloencustoms Whats 2 days. I have had no problems getting caches approved and if someone cannot wait up to 2 days.....Come on .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  21. One Cache I went to had a Rusted Can of Baked Beans. I have also ran into a toothbrush out of the package and a little bottle that someone put soapy water in. What the Heck! .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  22. Test Post. Thank You .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  23. quote:Originally posted by ColdMachine:Once I was looking for a cache in the woods near an old abandoned mental hospital. It was well after dark when I found the cache, and my flashlight batteries were dying. I grabbed the logbook and stumbled down the trail back to my car, figuring I could get an extra set of batteries and fill out the logbook there. I was a little nervous owing to the stories about the inmate that escaped years ago and was never recaptured. Supposedly old "Hookhand Jim" successfully evaded capture until the hospital closed, and then moved into the empty buildings. The area surrounding the hospital is kind of creepy, and there were some disappearances and mysterious deaths, so needless to say I was a little nervous. As I sat in my car filling out the logbook, I kept hearing this weird sound, like something was brushing against the car: thump-scra-a-a-ape! Thump-scra-a-a-a-a-ape! I figured it was just a tree branch, but I was spooked. I layed the logbook on the seat, started the car and gunned the engine, spraying dirt, rocks and dead leaves behind me. I came back the next morning to replace the logbook and encountered nothing unusual during the trek to the cache. However-- As I returned from the cache and walked around the back of my car, I saw something that made my hair stand on end and my blood run cold: There, hanging from the trunk latch of my car was a stainless-steel prosthetic appendage. More precisely, a hook. Okay, so maybe that DIDN'T happen... I think we need a new topic: Geocaching Fiction! Thats great! I think it would be a good topic .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
  24. Do people normally seek out benchmarks that have already been found? Does it help? Do you do it? .-=Amish_Hacker=-.
