  4. That's correct, except after I unplug the usb it will stay that way until I remove a battery. Can't do anything, won't respond.
  5. Nope not the case. They were removed. Thanks though.
  6. This is what the about page shows... (thanks btw) V1.2.81468 NA SAFARI 1.21, 1.1 I am using windows XP The unit freezes on the start page, the picture of the tree. I tried letting it sit for half an hour with no results. Again, this is only with a sd card inserted. No problems with the card out. Again have two cards, a ScanDisk and the Lowrance turn by turn. Issue with both. As far as the usb issue of not ejecting first, this will freez on the connection screen. I used it today for geocaching today. Seems to be working fine, except for the above issues. Question, how do I uninstall the updates so I can reinstall?
  7. Just got the Lowrance Endura Safari. If I power on with a sd card inserted, it comes on and freezes. The only way to fix it, is to pull the batteries. Is this normal? Do you have to insert the map card after power on each time? I have a 16gb Sandisk for mapping, and the Lowarance turn by turn sd card. Both have the same problem. I also have all current updates. Btw also freezes if you remove the usb cord without ejecting on the pc first. Kind of frustrating since there is nothing in the manual.
  8. Yes, and set the elevation. I bought mine last February, and haven’t been able to get it right yet. I'm consistently about 50 feet off each time. When your geocaching with a group and your the only one off by 50', it's got to be my unit. I like the GPS, it's just so frustrating when you’re wondering around in the wrong place.
  9. I'm also having the same problem. Does anybody know of a fix? I went caching with a group finding over thirty in the day, and I was 50-60 feet off from everyone else. Didn't have this problem with my Lowrance.
  10. Fishpoet has always been a faithful Geocacher. As the game has evolved to deal with the challenges of a growing sport, new rules and actions need to happen. I think FishPoet has just had a few bad experiences lately. I once had a difficult time with some changes with the rules on power trails. Time has passed, and I got over it. I hope this passes too. FishPoet motivated me in the game of Geocaching. It was a honor to find a few of his 200+ caches. It saddens me to see so much anger towards each other over something that could be resolved peacfully. Yes it's Jeremy's sandbox, and we all play in it, but lets not throw the sand at each other. Just my opinion.
  11. Yikes! The new upgrade changes to the microsoft streets and trips (csv) export, prevents me from editing in excel. The problem is all the information is in one column. It was broken down in columns by the commas. My real problem is I have a Lowrance GPS and there is no export for .usr foremat. I would have to export to excel in .csv then edit the http out and rearrange the columns. Then open with notepad and add a space after the commas. Then I could import from from Lowrance GDM6 and save as a .usr. Sounds complicated but it worked. Need help

  13. Someone has lots of time. That makes 11. one more then VK
  14. I think someone's eating too much cheese
  15. How could geocaching "destroy the environment" on an approved OHV trail in the National Forest. It should be on a case by case situation.
  16. Too late, they did. We can't get any trail approved, even if further apart. No trails Period. But it's ok to make it a multi, go figure. Whats up with that?
  17. when we get to many geocachers on the trail, group 5 together and call them multi-cachers.
  18. When I visited the local Ranger Station to buy an adventure pass. I explained to them why I needed one(geocaching). They said, they never heard of geocaching and were very interested. I have had a ranger log two of my caches, not a geocacher, he shared his delight in finding more. No one has ever mentioned limits in the National Forest. As a former volunteer for the foerest service, I don't see the issue here. They invite off road vehicles to ride here, why not a cache trail along the way?
  19. I'm confused of what the real problem is. Is it about the parks, server space or not liking how some people play the game?
  20. Would it? If I was a non member and saw a trail of 30 caches, I might pay to do them.
