  1. And just what would be the time and date for this to happen.??? Would a Baja Bug make it. Maybe we can get FATTBOY to ride with Team Fatman. Skillet.............Look up the above wpt: GC17Z5A.............all the info. is there Look up the cache we mentioned on the page for pictures, etc. and you decide if the Baja Bug can make it! It seems to go everywhere else out there w/o any problems! If you don't think it will, you can always drive out to where the squeeze is and watch everyone go down! The Splashes Here is the link to GC17Z5A I thought it was a Cache not an EVENT sorry. I'm about 2.5" too wide for the squeeze but I'll try to join you to haul out some of the mirrors and door handles (kind of a CITO event?) I still think that I could my bring Civic there! I know if I got up enough speed I could make it. Plus I had an ego boosting experience last night while caching. Check out my log below. Some Fun Geocache
  2. So there is a guy that sits in the cubical across from me and I am always playing pranks on his office while he is out of town. So yesterday he called in sick, perfect time for a little holiday decorating. The last "big" prank I did was filling his entire cubical with 374 balloons.
  3. Yippee! They did it! Awesome!!!! WTG!!!!! FAT CATS!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!! You Go GIRLS!!!!!! Congrats! Way to go, Sue and Pat! I guess you're not such GeoSlackers after all! Thanks everyone!!! We were really trying to make it before our 3-year anniversary, which is on Christmas day! And The Lost Clan is being modest. She also hit 1500 and she has 199 puzzle finds! Congratulations Linda!!! OK - NOW I got 200! Thanks everybody! P.S. Love those graphics! CONGRATZ YO!
  4. EXCELLENT! This is one that Hill and I always go to. We bring all of our cats as well!
  5. I am thinking about getting a new 4WD for my Geocaching Adventures. What do you think about this guy? I don't think I could ever get stuck.... and if I came to a boulder that was too big to climb, I could just move it. Bad Azz 4WD!
  6. Hikers2: If there is a Walmart in ABQ you can get a pair of 2 expandable ones for $15. Worth the $$ especially if you only need them for your vacation. I'm from Vermont...your neighbor kind of. I have seen them in the Walmarts here (San Diego) and in St Louis so I bet they have them in NM. Have a good vacation! Somewhere I read a warning about not putting your weight on the aluminum sticks from Walmart because of the possibility they will collapse. Anyone have any experience with that issue? Mine snapped in half..... but of course I did put near 300lbs on the thing.....
  7. Don't forget about Saturday night! Come rain or shine, we will be there. If a little rain dampens your spirit, come anyway, stay in your car, sign the log, grab a few goodies, and drive the course! Looking forward to seeing everyone. Robyn & Kathy I will be there, and I will be bringing Hill with me too!
  8. Rain, rain, go away. Don't rain on Saturday. That's the night of the 3rd Annual Christmas Lights Geo Walk. Yesterday it was 60% chance of rain for Friday. Today, it's down to 40% and for before 10a "Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. West southwest wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. " I'm still in. Latest forcast is now up to 80%: "Friday: Periods of rain, mainly before 10am. High near 66. Windy, with a west wind between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%." Rain in 45mph wind....... sounds fun!
  9. John, In my heart of hearts I always knew that you would be a wooden hiking stick man. Your loss makes my point exactly with regard to aluminum hiking sticks. Breaking a favored wooden hiking stick is a sad event whereas breaking or bending an aluminum hiking stick is nothing more than another trip to an outlet, not very different from crinkling a soda can for the trash. Still let it be said that aluminum hiking stick users are good people even though they have foresaken the bountiful and beautiful gifts of Mother Nature. "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." ... no aluminum hiking sticks in that passage I'll wager. Sorry for your loss John. What do you bet this will stir up the militant aluminum hiking stick people once again? Your pal, Harmon That was my hiking stick!!!!! John is in BIG trouble. I'm thinking a trip to the Swiss ALPs to pick out one of those fancy handmade sticks is in order. That stick he so carelessly lost even had a little pewter snake nailed on it. I'm just beside myself... See and this is another reason why Aluminum poles are superior to wooded staffs. On my recent journey to the Domelands, I took a spill and my aluminum pole sacrificed its life to save my shins and knees. Would a wooden rod do that? I think not. It would leave your hand covered in splitters and laugh as you rolled down a mountain.
  10. I would like to participate in the adventure . . . if the weather cooperates . . . however. . . and this is for El Centro . . . Looks like a pretty big storm . . . Since when does a little rain stop the Geocaching adventure! Put them parka's on get ready to get muddy!
  11. It won't be this year, but I'll probably be going sometime soon (Jan/Feb?). I've already been out there before but that was pre-geocaching... ThePolarBear and I plan on heading out there on the weekend of Jan 19, 20. This is just a guess on a date though, we will have to wait untill we get closer to January to make sure. But all are more then welcome to come with us on this teck. Why Jan 19/20 you might ask??? - It's full moon week and the Ghost Lights of Anza Borrego only appears on moonless nights. You better believe everything you find on the net Dude..... You didn't say anything about 7ft Skeletons ....I may have to rethink this trip.

  13. I know the one you are speaking of as well and I have the picture. Do you have a high-resolution version of that shot? ... keep it. Harmon - please "put" some clothes on him!!! The only problem, is he would have to stare at the picture for a while as he edits it..... it's kind of like looking at the sun. and besides.....You know I'm dead sexy! I am selling prints for $5.
  14. I know the one you are speaking of as well and I have the picture.
  15. I thought that entire area was off limits? I drive by the trail head about twice a week and It has been closed for a while. Back way in? If so, please do tell =)

  17. Friday?!?! Don't you people have jobs? ThePolarBear and I will be "revisiting" These caches in January, with no dogs =).
  18. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Two of my kids are home from college and Granddad is in town so it should be a fun day! Go Packers! Happy Thanksgiving from Eric and Hill as well. We are having 11 people over and I am choosing to cook a Mexican dinner instead of the traditional dinner.
  19. I'm probably in for the early Saturday morning Trestle Caches hike. Do you have any details yet as to the planned route? Ms. LLOT and I hiked that route several years ago. You are in for some excellent scenery (especially looking out to the east). I took some great photographs on that trip. You'll also find that the route is not well marked, the terrain is rugged, there are nasty plants that like to poke at you when you are not looking and you will be scrambling in that section between "Palm Oasis" and "Bear Rt". (We did not see a bear there, by the way ) We found, several times, that we had to back up and try another way when our original guess turned out not to be a great way forward. The terrain becomes very rugged and steep as you descend into Goat Canyon. Jerry Schad says it should take 2.5 hours to get to a point where you can see the trestle (about 2.5 miles from the trailhead) But with all the route finding we had to do, it took us longer (3.5 hours?) The last bit to the trestle (about .6 mi ?) itself will be the longest and slowest due to the steepness of the terrain and you can probably add an hour (one way) to do this bit. There may be times where you find that there does not seem to be a way to get there (drop-offs and such) but be assured that there is a way around every obstacle. Please post photos and details of your journey when you get back. This is a great hike! Enjoy your trip! Thanks much for the information! I will be snapping photos along the journey. I am actually more eager to grab the Jacuuma Scramble then the Trestle caches! I guess that's just the climber in me.
  20. I stand Proudly Defiant with both my socks and poles, and wave my nose at those who would impose themselves against my forms of expression.
  21. So what do you know that the rest of us have been dying to figure out? Does he or doesn't he? (Only his hairdresser knows for sure... ) I know I know! I had that cache on my watch list
  22. Hmmmmmm, I think its time to take my Honda Civic on that trail.
  23. Sounds great! But, I have been wanting to do the Trestle caches for a while. I have already grabbed the mud caves and Tomb Raider, but I noticed that you haven't done Dos Hombres "The worlds longest curved trestle" So how does it sound going out and doing this cache along with some of the other ones along the way. I was thinking about coming in from the east and grabbing these couple caches along the way. GC2820 GC250F Hows that sound? I am trying to get ThePolarBear to come out with me as well, but I think it would be great to head out there on Friday. E&H- Yes, those were some of the caches I was thinking of doing Saturday morning after camping overnight. To flesh the plan out a little: Do the Domelands and Tomb Raider as the main areas of interest on Friday, camp in Indian Forks Friday night, get up early on Saturday and do the Trestle cache and others on that side of the S2 that I haven't done. Also I need to go back to the Carrizo Gorge GI cache, I DNF'd that one and want to try again. I would be camping near my cache Indian Forks Terminus Right more than likely. If anyone knows the fees rules for ABSP, is there a fee for camping out there and/or is it even allowed? I will Email them and get up to date info this week. I do need to be back somewhat early on Saturday to San Diego, as I work that night {say 4 PM'ish} So, maybe if you are willing to go out on Saturday, instead of Friday for the Trestle Cache? Or if you are in for all of it, that would be great too, I would like to get out to the Trestle Cache also. My plans aren't definite yet, but I will be out there on both of those days doing something. Right now at a bear minimum I will meet up on Saturday for the Trestle caches. But I may be in for the whole deal as The Tomb Raider was fun and I wouldn't mind tagging along to do it again, hopfully this time I don't fall into the hole nearly killing myself . I am still trying to push ThePolarBear to come on out as well, but polar bears can be stubborn at times and I am fresh out of dead seals to lure him out.
