  1. Thank you for fixing the topo maps! There still seems to be a bug with the maps though. Switching from topo or satellite map back to street makes my location dot disappear. It reappears after switching back only to topo or satellite. Geocaching app v4.5.5 iPhone 4 4.3.3
  2. I've been wanting to replace my Magellan Triton 1500 for a while now. Was looking into the Oregon (that's the state I live in, haha), but I am glad they released the new Montana. Going to wait for price to come down a little then jump on it!
  3. This is a great reason! Where else can you have this much fun for a measily 3 bucks a month? Only $2.50 a month if you know what you're doing ;D
  4. Haha, that's the spirit! I'll do my best to create a mock up in Photoshop. Hopefully, the Mobile Geocache page will be adaptive to work on all mobile devices too.
  5. A Geocaching app for the iPhone/iTouch would be amazing! Hopefully Groundspeak will get some coders on that SDK and we could have an amazingly useful app come June =D
  6. If you want to become a serious 'cacher, you'll need a GPS. But if you're just starting out, I've used my iPhone's Google Maps for a few local caches. It works best if you know where you are specifically. =D
  7. Occasionally, when I'm out and about, I'll check my email on my iPhone, if I see that there is a new cache close by, I use the built in Google Maps to find it. A little harder because it doesn't know where I am, but the close-up satellite view works wonders. I've also used my iPhone if I need to check the cache details, view some logs, or make sure it's not inactive.
  8. Just putting my vote in. I think it'd be very helpful.
  9. I would love to see an iPhone optimized version of geocaching.com eh?!
  10. I think it would be cool to cooperate with a group like the BLM. Might make some good press for geocaching. The BLM would also make sure the trees are native and know how, when, and where to plant them. =D reminds me of mybabytree.org
  11. Hope these features get added, very convenient using from my iPhone =D
  12. Thank you very much for the quick reply. =)
  13. Here's my post to say that I would also like this feature!
  14. Before we place our first cache, I was wondering if caches can start as a member only cache, and then be changed to a public cache later, and vice versa.

    Logged Visits

Shouldn't the reviewer NOT count as a logged visit to a cache? I know the count is only off by 1 then, but I don't see the point in it.
  16. Do as much "pre-game" work as you can. Read the description, look it up on Google Maps. If it's a no go after that (or if you are just getting into it), read all of the logs for that cache and read the hint. If all else fails, you can probably email the hider for another clue.
  17. Even though it might get complicated, I think it's a great idea. This profile is for the two of us, but if one of us go out, it would be nice to be able to log that as only my find, so Erica can find it later as well. -Drew
  18. The hidden by space may be filled in with anything (almost) that the hider desires. The link will still direct you to the actual hider's profile. In this case daveydude hid the cache and chose to use DOG-BREATH in the hidden by area for whatever reason. That is not really a redirect, but a link to the hider's profile. Aw, thanks for clearing that up. Not exactly true. You could go look if you wanted. If geo-trash is left i would pick it up in some circumstances. I hate it when cachers leave trash. I meant I couldn't search for it on gc.com, I already tried looking in the field
  19. I found the link to the page in my software: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...33-01ba293ab057 It's archived, which means I can't search for it. And it looks like the user (DOG-BREATH) redirects to daveydude (a very prominent cacher in my area)
  20. -Go to geocaching.com -Sign in (if you aren't already) -Click your username in the top right corner -On the right side, in the first box is the option to update (or add) your home cords.
  21. I have a couple of caches in my GPS from a few months ago, but if I search for them on gc.com, they don't show up, and neither do the user. Could this user have been deleted and the cache pages go along with it?
  22. Just wanted to post a note letting everyone know that with the latest firmware release, caching is now completly paperless. =)
