  1. What’s the likelihood they are from lightning strikes?
  2. Who in the heck is going to get close enough to see if it has slits in his eyes
  3. Please accept our sincere condolences! My "big dog", Heidi, is also in that house not made with hands eternal in the heavens. She and the "little dog" used to run and play, we enjoyed their amusement so much. The "little dog" is kind of lost now. I am sure we will have to get her another companion.
  4. Salina Kansas, It's not the end of the world but you can see it from here.
  5. I'v used Coyotered's stuff and it works great. Especially the magnetic stencils for ammo cans. Dont pass these up and they are priced very reasonably!
  6. 45, which is, plenty old enough to know what I want, and still young enough to go get it!
  7. Thanks again!! You guys come through with some super information. I like the graphic, that’s a great reference. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the tips. I have been doing a lot of reading the last couple of days about the NAD and its origins. Very interesting!
  9. Thanks for your thoughts, the next benches I log will have more information. Good idea, just never thought of it that way.
  10. I am kind of new to benchmark hunting, and there is plenty for me to learn. I was wondering of the benchmarks listed here at Geocaching.com are they all listed using the NAD 83 datum. Also how much difference is there between all the datum’s available in my Meriplat? I am sure different GPSr units have varying datum’s listed in relationship to their firmware but was just wondering in general.
  11. I have experienced much the same phenomena too. I am running Windows 2000 pro and IE Ver. 6.0.2800.1106. I have noticed it intermittently and never seem to be paying attention as to what might have caused it. I have noticed it more looking at cache pages than anywhere else, including surfing the net. I have found however, that if I minimize the window and then maximize it, it seems to fix it's self. I just figured it was something I was going to have to put up with! Good luck!
  12. Oneyedjacks Took me a while but I got it, cool............................
  13. Cool Just tried out the new pocket query generator, I think it will work just fine for me. I tweaked my queries a little to help everyone out.
  14. That must be it, near or on the weekends the query generator must just be swamped and spits out the queries when it can. Not complaining, just a mere observation
  15. Just received my query’s this morning between 6:00 to 8:00 am central time. I guess it is working now. I had this happen to me last week too. They might be tweaking the servers or something. All is good for the time being.....................
  16. Is it just me or what. It has been three days since I received any Pocket Query’s. I have four set to deliver every day of the week; I hate to think I am going to have to redo these queries every time they quit working. Any Ideas?
  17. This threw me for a loop the other day. I had been caching for about 3 hours when I looked at the time display on my Meriplat and it was 12.5 hours off. I don't know how the time was off that far, but I reinitialized it, and it is still OK today. I don't think is was effecting the accuracy of my finding caches because I found 5 before I noticed the time difference. Go tell!
  18. Does any one know where I can get the software that’s on the installation CD for the Palm IIIxe, that enables it to sync with Microsoft Outlook? My installation CD is messed up enough I can no longer load the programs from it. The Desktop software is no big deal; you can download it from Palm. But the synchronization software for Outlook, is not supported by Palm, it is just included with the installation CD. The Palm IIIxe is great for paperless caching, and I sure would like to be able to sync my address book too!
  19. I've wanted to do one of those snakes in a can for some time now, but I haven’t been able to find them any more. That does bring an idea to mind. A couple of years ago my brother made this device that was in a small package 6"x6" square or so and it was wrapped with aluminum foil. I think he brought it to our family Christmas. When you pick it up it gives you a "SHOCK" and it does startle you. Inside it has some batteries, motion switch and other electronic circuitry connected to the aluminum foil. When it is moved, it gives you a jolt, while laying in a cache waiting on the next unsuspecting victim it uses no juice, only when moved. That surly would get your attention!
  20. The Monkeycache monkeys have a number like 0x031 associated with them. You can log them on their own web page as well as track them. I found one about a month ago but he had a plastic tag with information about the Monkeycache web page. Not sure if this is the same thing or not. Good luck!

  22. Duh! I forgot there were two views of this screen, thanks!
  23. I have two Meridians, one Green and one Plat. Both while on the basic information screen, for lack of better terminology, only display the date if the units are not averaging. Sometimes while Geocaching you need to take a picture of your GPSr while at the coordinates displaying the time, date and coordinates. If the units are averaging this is difficult at best to accomplish. Is there any way to have the date display even when the unit is averaging on that screen?
  24. Yep! Could be! I just counted and there are 200 with further descriptions, thanks for the heads up.
  25. After creating a query from Geocaching.com and receiving it, I opened it in EasyGPS. Everything looks great, just what I wanted. Then after uploading it to my Magellan Green or Platinum some of the waypoints when observed with the GPS don’t have the (description) or (Comment) listed, the Waypoint name (i.e. GCD12B) is correct but the other information is MIA. Any ideas? This extra little bit of information is sometimes very helpful for a quick reference to the cache.
