  1. okay...well i became a premium member since the funds go towards a good cause...and i also downloaded the link above for the communicator...but i still can't figure out how to get the caches over to my 400t...any thoughts? thanks in advance for the help I'm new here too, but this is what I do, and I thought it was easy: First, connect your 400t to your computer (did you install the software?) Go to geocaching.com, and find your location and caches that you are interested in. The should be a button, or hotlink that says "send to GPS" A dialogue box will open, and it should find your GPS (if it doesn't, "right click" and re-load) Click on the button that says "Write" The cache should now be on your 400t Good Luck Even easier, run pocket queries and you can get up to 500 caches in a shot (2,500 a day) sent to your e=mail. Save to disk, plug in unit and drag the file to the unit. thank you all so much for your help...i got the first simple way to work where you click on the icon right next to the individual cache...i guess i am going to have to figure this pocket queries thing out now!

  3. No. If you want to install custom software on your phone or do anything with it that doesn't involve your network operator billing you extra every second, then you picked the wrong network. Everybody should know this by now. Wow...didn't try to stoke up any hostility! Easy there big guy! I have Verizon because out of over 500 people in my contacts list probably 498 of them have Verizon and plus where I live it is the only phone company that has coverage all over the areas I travel. I have tried them all, and I mean all through my company and Verizon has a signal everywhere that the other companies drop out. Anyways, thanks for the info and I will wait on some of the unlocked phones!
  4. so there is no hope for us Verizon customers?
  5. so to hit on what Sgt. Pepper said...I just bought my Oregon today and it says it has version 2.42 on it...should I go to the latest beta version being discussed here or just try another earlier version? (thanks in advance for the help...I'm still new and trying to figure it all out!)
  6. nice...i'll definitely look into that StarBrand...thanks for all the good info. that is a nice little bit of handy information, and i like how easy it all sounds specially since i'm not sure what macros or GSAK is! thanks again though!
  7. thank you all for your help...I just purchased a Garmin Oregon 200 because I got it half price at a local outdoor store that is going out of business...my question now is... Should I try and get started geocaching with the Oregon (i can sell it to a buddy that really wants it and has no current GPS at all and save him money) or should I try and learn how to use my Nuvi to geocache? I have attempted to read through the post that describes how to use your nuvi for geocaching and downloading a bunch of stuff to make it more usuable but I get lost in the steps very easily. I think my ADD kicked in! Please help!
  8. Hello all...I have been wanting to get into geocaching and have looked through as many threads as my ADD will let me and I still have some questions! I have a Nuvi 750 but understand this is probably not the best unit for geocaching so what should I do or purchase? I do not want to spend a lot of money but want to be able to find some geocaches when I go out! I used the gpsinformation link on here but didn't get too much help off of it...so my question too all of you wonderful, educated people is: Where do I start with purchasing a GPS? Which model should I start with? Thanks a great deal in advance... C. J.
