  1. Thanks for the tip and video. I just bought a new battery for my Nuvi 660 and will change it myself. I use mine for paperless caching and the Garmin 60CSX for the trail. Battery is now dead and is always plugged into the car. Now I can take it back on the trail with a new battery. Cool! Bonnie Buglady1
  2. Just followed the thread the other way. Looks like they are cheaper at Walmart... It is nice to find those as caches since you know they are going to be waterproof inside when you open them. I first saw these lock n locks at Hammacher Schlemmer several years ago and kind of thought they were tedious to open all the latches, but if they keep the air & moisture out, they are worth the trouble. Nuff rambling!
  3. I just bought a set of 3 lock n lock containers over at World Market (in Sterling, VA near rt 28)...for about 9.99. I snagged a set for my caching stuff. Nice sizes too. That $$ seemed reasonable for a set of 3.
  4. Great ideas for swag! I have had fun finding stuff from Walmart, Target and dollar stores for swag. The bandanas are favorites of mine. I put each one in a baggie so they stay dry. Baggies of different sizes are in my pack for things such as batteries (I do leave batteries sometimes, though I know they can corrode. If the cache gets visited frequently I don;t worry about it.) Now that cold weather is coming those hand and toe warmers would be a nice find as sox, little scarves or mittens. Regarding junk in caches? I don;t like to find junk any more than anyone else, so may do a little cache CITO and cache maintenance if a new log is needed. It helps fellow cachers out to replace a log if one is full, then you put that in your log. I like to browse antique shops with my hubby. You can find some really cool and inexpensive things in those places too. TBs and coins are fun to find. I guess that is the adult find I really enjoy. You find a cool coin, learn about its goal and its owner, enjoy it for a little bit, then pass it along for someone else to enjoy.
  5. Using Firefox may solve a lot of problems, in fact... I am having the same problems with the pocket queries in caches along a route. I have IE also. Tried yesterday and again this evening to do a pocket query. Got an error message...any ideas on what I can do? I 've never used firefox browser....sounds like it might be better??
  6. I have been caching for about 2 months now and am enjoying the sport. I appreciate your thoughtful swag ideas. Many of the caches are full of junk and lunch type toys, but every now and then you find very cool things like TBs or geocoins (which many are so beautiful). To keep the sport alive and fun for all keeping the TBs and coins moving keeps it fresh for those who enjoy the sport. When I began to assemble my cache backpack, I went over to Walmart and bought new items for my swag bag. The Off packets are great...have a few myself and have left some too. Thanks for setting a great role model for other cachers to follow especially for those of us fairly new to the sport. BTW, I like the descriptions you have on all of your coin and TB pages... Happy caching! Buglady1 over and out
