We very narrowly missed a bear sighting! Met Team Ireland at a cache and they had just seen a bear in the area not 5 minutes before! Ay Carumba sounds like fun. Do you have a track log of the loop or at least a trail map?
-
He probably did ALL of his cache BEFORE you placed yours Brian. He had been caching from May 2000 until September the following year (2001), just before you started placing caches... he rarely went out after that time... At least that is what I heard...
-
A pleasure to cache with you! You're shortcuts are... well... shorter?
-
Doesn't it say in the guidelines that family members cannot log FTFs!

Had a great hike with Squealy, Jonboy and Dave of Team DEMP. Met Team Rampant Lion on the mountain placing a cache and newcomers Team Ireland at one of the caches, they had just run into a bear!!! It's doable! Full day of a total of 15 caches - not sure what the tracklog said, but it was about 10-11 miles roundtrip. 1. Driving Boulders 2. Pizza Delivery 3. Highest Point in Morris County 4. David's Rock Collection 5. TRL Highlands Hike 6. Broken back in the Woods 7. TRL for the Love of the Highlands 8. Recycled Cache 9. Rooster's Potato Head Cache 10. Needful Things VI 11. Remembering Gerima 12. Autumn at Saffins Pond 13. Uncle Tom's Treerock Cache 14 Creative Cache II 15. TRL - did one of theirs that hasn't been approved yet

We should start by parking here:
-
Does anyone have parking coordinates?
-
Yep, nothing to slow us down. The orginal keg krew!

Just spotted CCcooperAgency's Traveling Cache Driving Miss D... Has anyone found this or logged it? I haven't seen it in these here parts before. Avroair

Ask Stayfloopy. He has about 3200 finds and about 1500 of those are FTF!!!
-
A penny. The coordinates were etched into the back for stage 2 - 5 pennys in the woods in all! Sixth Cents

PATIENCE! I keep walking along the trail until I am CERTAIN that I have passed the cache. Also, I look up once in a while. People always ask why I spot caches before others, it's because i am ooking at my surroundings rather than fixating on the GPS needle 20 -30 accuracy is not bad.
-
If someone has a big yellow GPS swinging from their neck. I would bet they are a geocacher. You could also yell: "Fish and Wildlife Inspector! Identify yourself!"

Seems to me like a good portion of cache swag is either commerical, advertising, not kid-friendly or just plain silly. I am sick to my stomach at the flagrant trash littering tupperware and other fine cache containers. I SAY BAN THE LOT!!! Only logbooks allowed in caches and they HAVE to be bought directly from GC.com. Also - micro logbooks in micro caches - no torn sheets! Come on guys this is silly. If you don't like an item in the cache, trade it out and remove it to the trash. Whereas I can see that items maybe offensive, there will always be a minority that uses geocaching for their own agendas... Just remove the 'trash' and keep on caching

I was talking about Steak, Lamb and Chicken... AND they have over 50 kinds of scotch! Italian food is the best in NYC... YUM!
-
It's ON! I have been challenged to complete all 14!!!
-
I'm confused. Are we still talking about the viagra antidote or the virgin cache?
-
FTF! FTF! First to Forum! First to Forum... oh wait, I am still in the NE forum
-
But back to the point - if you are interested in ethnic food 9th ave is the choice, if you are interested in a good burger etc. Then Virgils or TSB are fine. There is also a good Scottish Pub on 44th between 5th and 6th call St. Andrews.

Nah... the porta-potty is still there if you dare use it. Whose bringing TP?
-
The Park Commission asks that you ride only at these county facilities... * Lewis Morris Park - Morris Township * Mahlon Dickerson Reservation - Jefferson * Patriots' Path - Morristown to Chester * Tourne County Park - Boonton, Denville, Mountain Lakes Why is someone from Colorado asking about mountain bikes and geocaching in the NE?

Couldn't DISAGREE with you more! Many of Manhatten's restaurants are a poor excuse for a good meal... way overpriced and often relying on past reputation alone! That said, there are a few cheaper restaurants with quality atmosphere and food: Pigalle - French brasserie 48th and 8th 9th Ave - between 44th and 50th has alot of different style restaurants You should steer clear of Madison Ave, 5th Ave and 6th Ave where the food is lousy unless you want to pay alot. As for caches: Starting at 42nd and 6th - These are nearby and fairly easy finds Bryant Park park cache NYC corner webcam Time's Square webcam Really Big Show virtual Busman's virtual (at the Port Authority bus station) Then in central park, these are all easy and pleasant: TONY In the Ramble Flowers from Tennessee Swamp Gas The Castle - virtual Central Park Guardian - virtual Stone Face - virtual You could do all of these in a day.
