My GPS is a TomTom1. And yes were were staying near the naval base, but when I came home its acting the same way. I dont know what the problem is.

I am having a problem. A few weeks ago I went on a trip to Key West Florida. I really wanted to do some geocaching there. SO I decided to take my GPS. I didnt pack it in my suitcase because I know the problems there. I took it with me on my carry on. While in KW Florida the GPS was acting funny. Could never get a fix and it would keep turning off. I just scratched it off as satellites being funky or the GPS system being old. Now I am back home and tried to use the GPS. It seems like everything is erased. It says it has error storing maps. I tried pluging it in to the computer to update and try to correct the problem. It seems I cant. What did I do wrong? How do I solve the problem? What tips can you give to people traveling by plane with a GPS? Help Me!!!

Here is an intertesting question. Has anyone ever been an undercover Cacher? Have ou pretended to be a muggle to make it harder for another cacher to find your or another cache? I think it would be a good idea. Would make it harder for someone to search. I got this idea when I went to a place to search for cache and left because of some muggles. I returned a week later and I was surprised to see a familar muggle who was there week earlier. Does this happen? Is there a group out there who does ths?

Im just surprised there is not a site called www.ArmChairCaching.com. AFter fake logging they might go to some ACC Events. Everyone sitting in their arm chairs eatting lunchj and sharing stories about how they fake logged.

This is a different topic to my Celebrity Geocacher. THis is about Geocaching Celebritys. IS there a well know geocacher in your area? DO they have tons and tons of finds? Are they always FTF before you are? Do you always search for their caches, since they are great hides? WOuld you like to nominate anyone from your area? I found about a geocaching celebrity after hiding 2 in the Lehigh Valley area in PA. Everyone tries to FTF before he does. He has tons of finds and FTFs. His Geocaching name is Tyson Sprandel.

My question is are there or does anyone know of any celebritys that love to geocache? Who are they and how do they do it? If theere are it must be hard not to catch a muggles attention.

The fun is only for himself. The proof is on the written log and the taker of the FTF prize is the actual FTFer.

When we started to geocache, all we had was a TOMTOM. We had to get used to it. We have to keep telling the TOMTOM that you cannot drive off of highways to get to the caches. We now have a Garmin also. TomTom gets us to the place and garmin helps us look for it. We wanted to ee how well TOM TOM matched with Garmin. THey both took us to the same place. THe person with the TOM TOM found it faster then the Garmin. SO what do you think?

I love cemetery cahes. I respect the area when I am there. I always watch where I walk. Always something interesting there. I once was spooked when the first tombstone I saw head my last name on it.

Our TOMTOM 1 gps is lovingly known as TOM TOM 45. While first searching for cache we were on a degree of 45. Our 3 year old daughter heard this, so while searching she kept repeating TOM TOM 45. We also say this to annoy each other. LOL. We have yet to name our new Garmin.

After doing a certain cache that was suggested for doing at a certain time, an idea came to mind. Im talking about caches that are at night. How about seperate the nighttime caches and have a list available just for them for people who enjoy doing them? I mean we have seperate lists for Multi, Event, etc. Since these are a little bit different than regular caches they should have their own catagory. They can also have their own icon, maybe a half moon. That way you can opt to view them or not view them depending on how you feel about nighttime caches. Let me know what you think. Also if this is possible for doing so.
