  1. I use an Oregon 300 and download the waypoint direct to the GPS, by clicking on the "GPX eXchange File button" and then navigating to the Oregon as the place to save. This is the sequence of buttons that I click on on the screen, to get the correct directory: Save Garmin Oregon Garmin GPX Save I have down loaded the Garmin Communicator File to the computer.
  2. Lets be fair, it is a world wide problem. I have several coins in my own collection and they have also been discoverd in places that I have never visited, all in the USA. I just ask the loggers to delete their own log, as a discovery would have been impossible.
  3. I have found this question asked several times in this thread but no answer. I have bought a World Diabetes Day 2007 Coin which is not activated but cannot find where to get the activation code.
  4. It wont be long before some of these questions get asked: How long would have to be there for, if it was advertised as a 2 day event? Is 1 night enough? If it starts at 5pm is arriving at 9pm acceptable? Do you have to stay for breakfast? Is a 6am departure too early? Is going out caching during the day acceptable? Do we really want these sort of rules, as I thought it was an activity we did for the fun of it!
  5. A nice coin - mine came on Saturday.
  6. Are there any plans for a demo in the UK, as in the events organised in the US?
  7. Yes they are still available from me. I apologise to anybody who has tried to send me a message but I have received nothing via Geocaching.com for over a week now - is there a problem here? (I have replied to ever one tha I have received.) My email is Iain_Rowlands@excite.com. I will be selling them at the Christmas Dinner Event this Saturday - you don't have to eat and are welcome to come along and say hello. Food is at 1-15 but I will be there from midday (I hope!).
  8. What is happening about the Staffordshire Cache?
  9. I have sent emails to everybody who has logged an intention to come, as it is now time to pay a deposit. There is still room if anyone else wishes to join us.
  10. As it is my cache pehaps I had better reply! I chose mystery because the co-ordinates have to be worked out rather than just being read on a piece of paper in a 35mm film cannister. I did look at some others (custom and practice) before coming to my decision. However I am quite happy to change it.
  11. Following the success of last year's meal and many requests I have gone ahead and arranged a repeat for this December. This will take place on Saturday 1 December, eating at 1-15. It is at the same place as last year and the price is again £14-95. We can have the complete dining area, although it is not big enough to make it into a MEGA event! I am working on the cache page, which I expect to go active in a day or two.
  12. Whoops double post - sorry. I was trying to edit the original.
  13. This coin is now available for purchase. I hope to sell it mainly at Events for £4-50 (Antique Gold) or £5-00 (Limited Edition, Antique Silver) and it will be available at the Chester Event on 18 Sept. I will also mail it out to people in UK and Ireland (payment will be by cheque) for an additional £1 for postage and packing. Please email me directly, via Geocaching.com. The front of this coin features a bottle oven which is a unique feature of the Potteries Area of Staffordshire. These ovens were used for firing ceramics. At the highpoint there were more than 4,000 bottle ovens. There are now less than 40 left. The reverse depicts Cannock Chase along with a Stafford knot, sometimes erroneously referred to as the Staffordshire Knot. This first made its formal appearance in the County on the Heraldic Shield of the Stafford family in 1583. Since then, its use has become widespread and it appears on all manner of things made, used or published in the County. It is trackable on Geocaching.com and will have its own icon. For cachers outside the UK, it is also available from Hogwild. Please refer to www.Hogwildstuff.org At the moment it is on the Future Projects Blog page and this includes a picture of the coin. Unfortunately I don't know how to include a picture here - can anybody do so for me?
  14. I am very impressed. I will change to new and improved Multimap now.
  15. I would like one of the Old Silver Coins. I cannot get your email address to work. Perhaps you can conntact me?
  16. No contour lines or grid references. Not so useful. How do you get the old one back? If you click on nostalgic for old multimap, it just routes you to the new pages again!
  17. Main course is 3 veggie options out of 7 choices. Starters 2 veggie options out of 4 choices. Is this a good type of event for my first cache?
  18. Lunchtime rather than evening - I am open to suggestions but my guess is that starting at 1 or 2 would be the best time.
  19. I am looking at organising a Christams Dinner Event. How does Sat 2 Dec near Rugeley (Staffordshire) sound? A 4 course Christmas Meal (Starter, Main, Dessert and Coffee with a mint) for £14-95, Under 10's half price (I think). Crackers included or am I the one who is crackers?
  20. I am getting the same message when I try to email other cachers, so I am glad that it isn't just me. I have no idea why, but it makes logging virtuals interesting when you have to send information.
