    FYI

The NWS has issued flood warnings for the Delaware River. The river is suppoesed to crest by tomorrow afternoon. Owners of caches on the D&R Canal path on the NJ and PA side should check on there caches after the flooding ceases. The flooding is supposed to be comparable to last year's flooding and in 1996. You can read about the flood warning at the NWS webpage.
  2. I think the rule should be discarded. Someone in the New England forum brought this up according to their own game. Imagine if someone has found all the caches within ten miles of the area where the flag was found. A 50 mile radius might be better.
  3. Do you guys have a way to tell what state the cachers are from? On my website (www.geocities.com/funksb2002) there is a guestmap. You can place a pin there telling your location if you are a geocacher. It may be of help to you, use it if you would like.
  4. CONGRATULATIONS! Here's to at least 500 more!
  5. Would anyone still participate after last year's disaster? If so, this year there will definately be new rules added to keep things under control. If done the hunt would definately go back to the old format where everyone followed the same course in a loop fashion around the state. I may even consider doing just a county hunt to keep things under a day. That being said, would anyone want to participate in the event. If there are enough people interested, then it shall be done.
  6. Was a website ever made as mentioned earlier in the thread? Also, how long will the game last? GO NEW JERSEY!
  7. Mercer County here. I don't know which part of NJ that is considered, central Jersey is disputed
  8. Besides doing caches, are there any places worth visiting while on vacation in Las Vegas. One spot I know of is the Hoover Dam.
  9. I believe that hunting is not allowed here on Sunday either. I will post the calendar I received when I get a chance.
  10. I would life to put a word of caution out to all geocachers in regards to finding my caches hidden in Baldpate Mountain in Mercer County. Hunting has officially STARTED on the mountain. I received a letter in the mail with all the dates and information about the season. There is to be NO TRESSPASSING on the mountain while hunting is in progress. WARNING: Citations and fines will be issued. I will try to put that calendar in this thread regarding hunting on baldpate mountain and what dates you are and are not allowed in the park.

    Flooding

Here is a link that shows some pictures of where I was mentioning. There are reports of trees slamming into the Washington Xing bridge which connects Titusville, NJ to Wash-Xing, PA and just shattering in two. The bridge has been closed indefinitly. There water that is shown flooding is about up to the canal path most of the way along it outside of the town.

    Flooding

There was major flooding today of the Delaware River in Mercer county. If you have a cache on or near the D and R canal path, it may be gone! Route 29 was also flooded. Also caches in Titusville and Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA should be checked as these towns were or nearly were under water
  13. Where is the Off Topic Forum? I like the Northeast better.
  14. Thanks for that Crouching Hinker, Hidden Cache. This thread needs some humor to loosen the tension
  15. Geoman007 caused his own problem by suggesting that Absolutad's team "cheated." Actually this was never discussed, at least not with me. The teams have always just all visited each cache and that's how I thought it would go this year. I did think of your plan, but thought no one would do it. I can tell you one thing though, it will be in the rules next year. I still don't know how to resolve the awards issue as I though this was taken care of but now says is not. Would this be settled if there were two first place awards? One for Absolutad and one for BNB/DB then the second could go to Kber and so on.
  16. I don't think anyone has mentioned NJ Admin for New Jersey. NJ Admin has approved most of my caches. Erik88rl did before NJ Admin.
  17. I live in NJ and my approver is NJ Admin. Keystone Approver does Pennsylvania and I think West Virginia and Ohio(maybe)
  18. The caches will be out a while yet, so if you still want to complete them, go ahead.
  19. I don't really notice a time that the site is the slowest, it just is in general. Could it be the web browser I am using? I have IE6 and have also used Mozilla Firefox and have noticed that the site is slow on both. Although it is a tad faster on Firefox, but that is what I have found with every site.
  20. Do any of the other cachers experience slow response from the GC.com when using the website specifically when clicking on the links from the main page such as the "My cache page". The forums work fine for me and are fast. I havew a cable connection.
  21. I will leave the caches out for a while at least. I was thinking about what to do with the caches this year. In the past I have turned them into traditional caches. This year the caches are the right size to be traditional caches but I didn't have enough goodies to satisfy all ten. I was thinking about putting the caches up for adoption. Is anyone up for adopting a cache that was in the hunt? There would be 7 available to adopt. I don't want to disclose the locations now as people are still continueing the hunt.
  22. That sounds like a great idea. NJ... what could I do to change this that will let GC.com approve it.
  23. In fact it was in a crevice. Please do consider the hunt next year. It WILL be better
  24. Before I forget, I would like to thank Briansnat for hiding one of the caches in North Jersey, and Evil Chicken for hiding 2 in South Jersey. Thanks!
  25. Congrats! I wish that I could have at least a hundred in 3 years Keep up the good work
