  1. Since I started, in my area the quality has gone down a little bit. More and more hiders are paying more attention to how long their streaks are and keeping them going that they mostly hide LPC's and such. One cacher has a motto "1 Hide for over 10 Hides". And at 4500 finds and rising fast, so are the easy hides. He is one of those guys that will take a park and analyse how he can maximize the number of caches he can hide in so many acres.
  2. Hmm that's weird. There's gotta be something more to the story. The CO's last login was 12/12/12, and the cache was last logged on the 12th.
  3. The challenges tab is still on your public profile page, but you get the "form letter" when you click on it. If it's about server space, why not let me unarchive two unpublished caches that were archived along time ago. With millions of users, how many archived unpublished caches are there?
  4. I'd rather do caches that are NOT findable by everyone. The only caches I see are "finadable by everybody" are lame LPC's. So I take it you only want to do LPC's. I'd do an NFC multi if I had the technology. Remember, Geocaching was originally just a way to try new technology. Both GPS and BBS, which not everybody had or was part of.
  5. You are aware of this website, aren't you? Here you can search for available coins in other collectors' lists and initiate trades. And more! That must be the site I was thinking I created an account on in 2008.
  6. Looks like the site was developed in 2006..... The fact you can't see anything except your "inventory" kinda makes it useless to me.
  7. Oh I thought this thread was about distance from GZ (where the GPS says 0ft). So this is really about FTF furthest from home. I had a story (for distance from GZ), but my two FTF's were in my town.
  8. I have one of those Firefighter travel tags on my key chain. It's made out of aluminum. I've only had it 6 months and the number is starting to get hard to read.
  9. That Challenge doesn't exist anymore. I'm glad for the find!
  10. Not totally erased yet, but the link didn't work.... Screenshot from a few minutes ago.
  11. Or how about hold a trackable event like GSAK educational events.
  12. I use pins on my Google Earth. Seems to work fine for me. Yellow for my caches, red for archived, blue for waypoints for mystery and multi, and orange for challenges.
  13. You can also set waypoint proximity on your GPS, so you can check out in the field too.
  14. Very important rule I follow. Always. At least I live in an area surrounded by rural area.
  15. One thing I do like are the dates for the "Last Logged" for my Trackables are on bold blue box on my profile. I looked there because there's thread about a bunch of bogus logs with no email notifications.
  16. Just got back and logged my event. Awesome!
  17. As of a matter of fact yes, ATF paperwork to have a pyrotechnician license, I'm on the fire dept, Utah Non-Resident CCW Permit and applying for Oregon too. Besides, in elementary school, they fingerprinted everybody (mid 80's). I'm probably the one that can lose the most even from something that's deemed legal. I would rather give up a hobby than give up my life. What's the big deal with having your finger prints on file. Have you ever applyed for a Federal or State job that requires a criminal background check? I'm a CWP and a FFL holder and have submitted my finger prints and they are on file. My kids were finger printed in elementary school and at our local Church, they even take hair samples. Even if finger prints were and issue, I would just use gloves when I geocache. I have before, but creepy-crawlys and stinging nettles were my biggest concerns. Did I say it's a bad thing my finger prints are on file? County Job - Yup, fire fighter, CCW - Yup. ATF Paperwork - Yup, pryotechnician, and going through the process of FFL 03. The answer was in the post that you quoted already. It was GrateBear who insinuated that I had to have done some thing bad to have my fingerprints on file. I was pointing out that I have my fingerprints on file in many systems, all for doing something good. OH, and bringing up Fed Jobs. I don't mentin it much, becaue I was injured in boot camp, and discharged, so I'm not a Veteran. But I enlisted in the Marines. Finger printed again.
  18. Awesome set. I really like these.

  20. Is this the "Better Mistake Tomorrow"?
  21. Yuk. I already miss blue for the DNF's. Will my DNF pin and coin go up in value?
  22. And why would you care if your fingerprints are all over everything? After all it is legal. It seems this thread was started as an attempt to make a joke. I find it is amusing that some people seem to take it seriously. If alcohol, drugs and tobacco are against the rules, weed is also. Legal or not. Edited to add, I realized you may be talking about finding weed in a cache outside of Washington. I do most of my caching in Idaho/Washington, since I live on the border of the two states. As it's been brought up, it's not as "legal" as everybody makes it out to be. It's only decriminalized for having an oz or less on your person. It is not legal to use in public, it is not legal to distribute, it's not legal to drive while under the influence, and so on. That's why I would not want my fingerprints on anything. The federal government is already ramping up to step in if it's sold a dispensaries sell to collect taxes on them. It's a federal crime to collect any tax on a Schedule 1 drug. Here in WA, the biggest selling point for the bill was collecting taxes to raise revenue. I was part of the 45% that voted No.
  23. There's two events I'm going to try to go to.
