The Garmin 12xl that i have used for many a year has started acting up on me. I couldn't cache today & almost lost my mind & bought a new GPSr. The problem is: When i turn the GPS on, it is as though the Contrast is all the way so that the screen is dark. You can barely see the unit is working (which it is), but when i adjust the contrast in 2 different spots, NOTHING happens & it doesn't change a bit.... I replaced the batteries, same thing.... just soooo dark..... need to cache.... weather is good.... Is there a flaw in these units? A quick fix? Just an oversite on my part???
