  1. This release is pretty awesome, and I don't foresee a lot of problems - but the thread about the 2.94 release really got to me. There's a difference between letting people know about a bug and whining that there is one Just saying.
  2. Ugh, I'm so sick of people complaining about a beta release not working. It's beta, you install it at your own risk - they even tell you that. If you don't want to deal with bugs, don't install beta release firmware, it really is that simple. I for one was thrilled with 2.94 even though it had its quirks... seeing the waypoint averaging app work so well was awesome. Now with 2.95 I feel I have everything I wanted in a GPS... keep up the GREAT work, Garmin!
  3. Check it out here: 300 http://www8.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=3889 400c http://www8.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=3895 400i http://www8.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=3893 400t http://www8.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=3891 Going to install it this morning before I got to work, but it doesn't look like much changed from the last beta.
  4. I can't believe there hasn't been a new firmware release since the 2.51 beta. Come on Garmin! /rant
  5. I did, but that's because I bought it prior to the release of 2009. If they allowed it everyone would just buy 2008 and upgrade for free, so I do understand why they don't do it.
  6. There is, it's called Pocket Queries and available with a subscription of $30/year or $3/month.
  7. I just use them for my logbooks, work really well and cheap.
  8. I got one off ebay for my Geko that looks like a regular USB cable, has the adapter built-in, real slick.
  9. I just want map switching with profile change (Marine, Geocaching, Automotive, etc). I really don't have any other issues with it.
  10. If you're a technojunkie just save up for the Colorado 400t, otherwise you'll get a cheaper one now and have to sell it for a loss later to end up with the Colorado anyway. Ask me how I know
  11. Has mine on the car holder for about 6 hours on a trip yesterday, thermostat was set to 74 and it read 78. Now I know if it were 78 in the vehicle I would have been warm and turned the AC up. I don't think it's ever been correct and I wonder if it's more to display it's internal temp or something.
  12. I talked to them about adding map changes to the profile preferences, sounded like that was going to be added. I'm confident the next firmware update will be a good one, and although I was hoping for it this month I'm glad they aren't rushing one out. Side note, I really don't have any complaints with mine - guess I'm lucky or knew what I was getting (or both).
  13. Thank you, thank you! Coin looks incredible, but I can't convince my wife I didn't have to buy it.
  14. You need this: http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/
  15. Had the same experience with a Geko 201 and the 60CSx. Side by side the Geko was closer than the 60CSx on 5 out of 5 caches.
  16. You didn't mean 'Milltown' Wisconsin by any chance, did you? If so, this really is a very, very small world. Let me know...
  17. Nope, the only one with true paperless caching built in is the Colorado.
  18. Just wanted to say it's really cool of you to take this on. Please post back once it's done and what worked/what you'd change if you did it again, etc.
  19. Again, like I said... the coin idea wasn't mine and neither was making this a coin only thread, that was just one topic that spun out of my first attempt.
  20. That's because they don't get bothered by people who appose a thread like this. Doesn't bother me in the least that a 'Christian Geocachers' thread was started for example, yet Christians and the like feel it necessary to stop in and start the debating over and over again (as I've asked many times not to happen). I tried to do the same sort of thread twice now, and both turned into a religious debate.
  21. Humanitarian... I like it, and everything you wrote. Thanks for the post.
  22. Just to clarify, again... I didn't intend for this to be a coin thread it just turned out that way and got moved here. It was supposed to be for general discussion and a continuation on another thread that got severely hijacked. The coin idea wasn't mine, it was someone elses so I can't answer that question. As far as the title of the thread, again... it was meant more to include more than just 'atheists' for example than to not include christians. The other thread was called 'Atheist geocachers' and some replied stating they weren't atheist but some other related belief.
  23. Got my 400t and never looked back at my 60CSx again. I absolutely love this thing, best GPS I have ever used. PS Garmin support has been awesome in my experience over the years, and looking at the forums I'm not the only one.
  24. You can leave something no matter what, that wasn't only a nice thing to do it was above what would be 'expected'. As far as the wooden coin, no foul there either - in fact some people collect them.
