  1. Yah, but if they made Abject Silliness into it's own thread, we wouldn't be able to count NORMS anymroe.... And if you wanted to flame Abject Silliness, couldn't you at least name the flame something other than "Abject Silliness" it's really confusing the more idiotic of us...
  2. Actually, if you read the fine print on most gift cards it will say that after a certain amount of time of card inactivity, they'll start deducting like a dollar a month until there's nothing...
  3. Okay here's a questution that crossed my mind today.... I know the YJF rules say no cars in dealership lots, but how about at car shows... I mean, it's not like they have one of everything in every color, so if I fuond a yellow jeep, it would sort of be a legitimate find wouldn't it?
  4. In my upcoming dog trade item themed cache, I was hoping to leave gift cards or gift certificates to Petsmart and a few local dog bakeries...
  5. This is too confusing for my small head, even when me and my dog think about it it's too confusing...
  6. If she likes caching or is willing to put up with it, hit a few, but don't make the weekend a cache weekend.. There are far greater things you could be doing with your wife out of town on valentines day...
  7. This thing is less conspicuos than my big maggelan sportrak that looks like a 3 year old cell phone, but it looks a little big for a normal watch...
  8. That story about Madjack and Homerz is really quite strange...
  9. When I buy trade items they go immediately to my magical, bright orange ammo can in my room. After that, when I'm ready to cache, I'll load everything into my backpack and head out... I usually set it up in separate care package type things like my backpack would have 4 separate bags each with an assortment of goodies... When I'm going to a park where I may look goofy with a back pack, I just grap a trade goodie bag and maybe my camera...
  10. Anyone have an opinions on my cache idea, or ideas for questions?
  11. I think it's a great idea, but I'd give the terrain a definate 5... I mean, I know the definition of five is special equipment, but swimming across a river to a sandbar is kind of 5ish, if you know what I mean...
  12. Okay, everyone said the plan could be tweaked so here's my tweak: The caches would be simply put on probation or something on the day, the owners or anyone would have 30 days to do maintenance and post a note. If this didn't happen the cache would be disabled temporairily and put up for adoption
  13. I think this needs to somehow be added into the guidelines to prevent stuff like this from happening. But I must concur, getting rid of stats is just silly, maybe even abjectly silly...
  14. Once again, am I the only person who's never heard of this organization?
  15. Is it possibly to delete your own log... I'd say, have him delete his log (or you can do it, but TELL HIM FIRST) and allow him to log on the new cache for the original one and invite him to find the new one...
  16. AGHHHH CONFUSING!!!!!!
  17. Okay, I know everyone was busy debating wether geocaching is a sport or not, but something popped into my head... If this thing is THE ruling body in international sports, than why the hell haven't I (an avid sportsman of ALL types) ever heard of them?
  18. The date code on mine is 3903, so I guess it was assembled maybe 3-4 months ago. So far nothing major, but I'm reading the warranty thing from Best Buy very thoroughly once I find it.
  19. They don't even say you have to log it in the physical log. But that just defeats the whole purpose doesn't it? I think it's odd that there was no trace of this cacher in any of the logs, but maybe on the one where she told you where it was, she signed the log with just her real name before she had a geocaching username or something... If that theory isn't right, then she's obviously just a very tech saavy ghost...
  20. Am I the only one who thought this had a suitably sarcastic tone? Obviously...
  21. Banning doesn't stop the problem, only the account. Yah, but he'll be unable to get coords directly from the site, wouldn't he? That would at least slow him down...
  22. Well, if he has a geocaching.com account, send an email along to Groundspeak, tell them he's a pirate... They'll ban him pretty quick...
  23. Bought my magellan originally at Gander Mountain, it was defective, so I returned it and got a new one at Best Buy...
  24. Why don't you just make each a separate cache? Oh wait, that would probably break the 1/10 mile rule...
  25. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me...
