    New Store Item

Well, they were nice nylon sort of. They were sort of like a nice pair of basketball shorts...
  3. Well, I have a Sportrak Map, and I occasionaly walk in circles where the GPSr leads me for a while before I go to the center of the circle and find it, so yah, it does overshoot occasionally, but I find that when I get within a hundred or so feet of the cache, if I stop for a minute or two, and then proceed slowly, it works great...
  4. Other than that, you got the name right, I'm just not sure wether there's a "C" or not...
  5. Eh hem.... Sportrak is a magellan model...
  6. This is slightly off topic but it refers to the topic at hand. Especially the post above me. There's some kind of weird psychological effect, that once you experience something you're more likely to notice something. Like any car, I can't really tell it from the rest, nor do I care, but after I ride in it, or someone in my family buys it, you see it very often, not because there are more, not because you're even looking for them specifically, it's just they sort of stick out. It's also sort of like geocaches, when you went on your first cache hunt, you had no idea where the cache was but after a few finds, you notice a pattern and you know where they are and how they're hidden and they just sort of pop out of nowhere. I don't really know how to explain myself better...

    New Store Item

My church normally does parking for a large arts festival in the area. Over the years, we accumulated more land to park cars on, and the vests disappeared. Well anyway, a family that goes to our church owns a hunting company and they got us these really nice vests. They're blaze orange hunting vests, but they can easily be mistaken for a roadway vest or something similar. And the best, they're cloth, not crappy plastic or anything. More particularly, I think they're nylon...
  8. No one quite knows that this is just an early april fools joke celebrating my 1000th post...
  9. Literally...
  10. You're not a geocacher till you make ten? posts...
  11. I've managed the dog, the GPSr and the PDA before, but I don't normally use a walking stiick...
  12. Might as well show you a picture of Casey, the Golden Cache Retriever. She's really one of only two factors that have kept me in this game. Casey, The Golden Cache Retriever
  13. I'm close to nearing my 18th find right now, and all but two of those have been dog assissted. And one the dog came but we found out that dogs were not allowed. If you think you can control your dog, sure bring them along, and get them a good walk, and a nice ride in the car. My golden even found a cache before...
  14. The main site has been running a little bit slow too... Could solar flares have caused it?
  15. Does anyone do anything special for their caches for the summer other than just a nice cleanup/restock?
  16. I guess this is nothing compared to some of you guys who have had it said you were in a different cuontry, but today, I was sitting right on top of a cache's hiding place, signing the log, under blue skies and no trees, and it tells me I'm .10 miles away....

    New Store Item

I was thinking a bit, and I think I might have come up with an excellent idea for the store. I've read about a lot of cachers who have this item in their packs, or at least at home just in case. So what's my idea? How about you guys get a bunch of blaze orange hunting vests, (the nice fabric ones, not the crappy mesh/plastic ones) and then have like the geocaching logo embroidered into the front. These would be a cool item and also very useful for rural cachers like myself...
  18. I think it's a great idea, but I don't think it would be allowed. I mean there doesn't seem to be any written rules against it, but there's probably an unwritten rule that applies...
  19. Yah, there's always gotta be a solution... There's just gotta be a place to put the micro...
  20. I like the dark because it's a little more subtle. I mean, you're still getting the point across, but you don't quite stick out as much. But I guess it's not the color of the shirt really about last years, it's more or less (and no offense to the designer) but last year's shirts looked kinda dorky...
  21. I think it may effect the economy. But no more than how it would be affected if there were a small flee market once or twice a year...
  22. That's actually the best unbiased description of geocaching I've read in a long time...
  23. Who knows? But it's cool...
