  1. Sorry guys already gone. I shoulda pushed back the date a little. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  2. Looking to sell my setup. Got the Visor when they were new, used a screen protector with it since new. It’s a clear shelled Visor with a clear USB cradle. Comes with the Visor, cradle and software. The GPS was bought about a month ago but I just ordered a Trimble GeoXT through work and will probably use that. GPS comes with it’s own software as well. So, no use holding on to these. All equipment is in ‘like new’ condition. Looking to sell it all for $90 with $6 shipping within the US via USPS 2 day priority mail. Money order or Paypal only, my Ebay history can be checked by using my email address or username. Addy: skye@epic-isti.com Username: Skye737 Shoot me a mail or post any questions. If not sold by this coming Friday, I’ll put it on Ebay come Monday. Be out of town Friday-Sunday. Thanks! ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  3. I think he already explained. Most Jeep owners are Caucasian. To appeal to the minority market they want a minority for the article. While he may have better intensions in mind, Jeep itself is doing nothing more than selling to a market where they have a need to draw more customers from. Caucasians: Already got them Everyone else: Potential customers Pretty much as simple as that. Don’t bother bashing him over it, he’s just doing what he is told needs to be done. Happens all the time. I bet most every time you see an advertisement for anything, it’s a factor. Basketball shoe commercials use ‘black’ people, NASCAR commercials use ‘white’ people, Tortilla commercials use Hispanics, Disney practically uses one race per shot, trying to cover all the bases. But you people never got up in arms about it before. Don’t assume this is something new or something only Jeep does. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  4. Well, the company budgeted $9948 for our GPS supplies. So, we're looking into getting 2 of the GeoXTs along with training for me and a copy of TerraSync. Bad thing is I couldn’t talk them into getting me a cheaper one like the Venture to let me get my feet wet. So, I'll be jumping right in. Just wanted to say if you see a geocacher in the woods packing a $4295 unit, don’t laugh, I didn’t have any choice! ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  5. Some may say that it’s not about the treasure, but to a certain extent it is. It’s another form of interaction between people. Putting a piece of real useless junk in the cache is an insult to an extent. If I walk up to you and tell you “I don’t want anything from you, here is a FREE used hair band.” I’m not going to waste the energy it takes to extend my arm, take the band, walk to a trash receptacle, relinquish hold and watch it hit the bag. I wouldn’t do it in person and I wouldn’t do it in a cache. And keep in mind, it’s not like I’m saying that I’m mad because I have gotten junk. I have never done a cache. I only heard about this concept 2 days ago. But it’s like exchanging gifts at Christmas. Sure you don’t expect a present but what do we all do when we get in the car and leave grandmas? Complain about the crocheted plant hanger. Not to mention, when I one day bring my daughter along, I want her to be able to be excited about what trinket she can trade for. Nobody wants to see their kid saddened because someone left a freakin used hair band! It may be naive but I still think treasure chests need to contain some semblance of treasure. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  6. That's what I am hoping. The GeoXT will mark the location of new installs and recovery of lost valves. The real question is what handheld for locating the others? Accuracy would be important because they are easy enough to see most times but even tall grass or a stolen cover can make them hard to find. I would think a WAAS could get them within a square yard seeing how we dont really have any tall buildings. The tallest thing we have is maybe a group of 3-5 story buildings and that is only down town and it's all paved. More than likely, on most valves (roadside) canopy on the same side of the road will be the biggest problem. Not overy worried about structure problems. I was thinking something along the line of the Sportrak Map or Pro. The Pro can hold maps, cant it? ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  7. The majority of the valves are about 3 feet below ground. There is, on top, a yellow cover, then a bellhole into the ground, and then the valve. The majority of the time, the valves (covers) are easy enough to see but we are a county that is constantly growing and some valves get buried beneath the asphalt and are never seen again. If I had a bearing on them, I could get a crew to crack the blacktop and expose the hole and repave it with a removable cover on top. That’s why accuracy is important. I cant justify cracking a 10x10 patch of blacktop So, 9/10 of the time, the valve cover will lead you to it but if there has been grading, all you can do is use a pipe horn to trace the main. The position of that valve on the stretch of main is very hard to tell. I could also use that to trail newly buried main incase of road widening and things like that. So, it will come in most handy when something is underground. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  8. Not familiar with patch items. I'm not talking about anything with a "V" in it. The other is the Trimble GeoXT. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  9. I wouldent doubt it. With more and more units supporting WAAS, accuracy is getting better on basic units. I think for the intro, I'm going to test out the Sportrak Pro. Seems to get good reviews as far as accuracy. Then, bring in the GeoXT when we need pinpoint. Probably will it a price drop soon, but it's a really high-tech piece of electronics. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  10. Jeah, it's supposed to be a sub-meter unit. Price, probably around $4500. Heheh, I wont be the one writing the check ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  11. I dont know how much help I can be or how fast but shoot me a mail at work and I'll see if I can throw a simple one together to see if it's something that can help you. skye.maloney@ycnga.com I'm no pro, but something basic should be easy enough. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  12. Man, that aint going to cut it. Will the GeoXT more than likely produce better results? ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  13. No, most are in the street. Buildings will be my only problem. Maps, yeah, that would be nice. All the valves are located on streets or just off the street. Thanks for the ideas, I'm going to check the link and look into those models mentioned. If I have a valve in the ground and mark it, then come back later while it's covered, on average how close can I come to standing ontop of it? ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  14. Trying to get my company to get me a basic unit before we take the plunge into the GeoXT. I need something that is dirt cheap but pretty accurate. I will be recording and then locating gas valves so it needs to be pretty accurate. So, what is the cheapest unit that is worth buying? ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  15. No clue what is good now a day, but I can tell you that with them constantly changing, you can get some good deals on ebay! ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  16. Museum of Fine Arts, that's the one. He lives on a flat on the top floor. Pretty neat guy. He's a crazy looking guy with white hair and a goatee if you ever see him ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  17. (copy of another post of mine) Go to the main page and scroll down. There are sub-forums that are limited to areas inside the US. You may find people in your area there. From one new person to another, howdy! ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com

  21. Well, not in the sense that there is a head attached It's more like it's foot than anything, but that just sounds awfull. How's it going over there in the GasHouse? I'll be heading that way at the end of the month to get some inkwork done at Living Arts. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  22. You know, I never got a Zod in LOD. Has 1.10 come out yet??? ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
  23. It’s funny how some of the same people who scoff the prophecies will believe Nostradamus full heartedly. Kinda off topic, just found it humorous. ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com

  25. Man, that sounds great. My uncle is the curator of art in an art museum in Boston. Can’t remember the name of it though but it’s right next to a baseball field. Name is Patrick Maloney if you ever find yourself wandering into one. I was born in Providence and haven’t seen that much snow since I was 4. Hey, go eat a lobster for me!!!! Humidity is a killer. Makes the inside of my nose start to swell and it’s tough to breath. Bad thing is I’m trying to start jogging. Heat is a monster! ------------------------------------------- http://www.hardcorebodybuildingontheweb.com
