I come from Frankfurt/Germany and like to combine geocaching and visiting ice hockey games. The Bridgeport Islanders play in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The whole coast is full of caches waiting for visitors, but not a single one is in Bridgepost. Is this a coincidence or is there a reason (e.g. a law) for this? That surprises me, since Bridgeport, with 150,000 inhabitants, is not a very small town. Thanks.

from living in CT about 30 years ago, even then it had a higher crime rate  than surrounding areas. An example is Compton, CA. Thousand all over the LA area but only 1 cache(a virtual) in front of the city hall.

  2. In 2022 on the day theyGS tried to break the record for the # of caches found there were 3 events separated by approximately  10 miles or more and at 10AM, 2PM, and 6 PM. Almost all the  attendees were at all 3. And that day you had to drive through the area of the local NFL stadium while people  were heading to the preseason game between events 2 and 3. No problems and all within the rules.

I can see the negative version being used in jest, the way the "No Snowmobiles" attribute (the negative of the "Snowmobiles" attribute) is used in the San Francisco Bay Area in jest. (Although technically it's accurate, because no one can use snowmobiles where it never snows.)

Beat me to it. Like you, I used to live in the SF area. I  remember so many caches with the no snowmobiles attribute. I have 498 finds with the no snowmobiles attribute from when I lived there.

    Have you refreshed the list?

I had logged then as found, went to Project GC and several other sites.  The went back to Geocaching. I make lists of unfound for each town in my and the adjoining county.. When I am done for the day, I go and delete the founds from the lists.  I even missed one list nd went to delete the founds this morning after my laptop  was off overnight and the ones on that list still had the exclamation point icon.

  5. I think it's the recaptcha, not GS.  i had a problem with the recaptcha on a utility  bill site (electricity). Would click the done box and it would  throw me back to the page before the  photo appeared.

  6. If t is a non sequential AL  you should be able to attempt to answer and get the no signal reply. the app will remember you tried  and when  you are in cell range, hit should allow  you to answer it. There is one in a state park near me and the owner told people to do that because there was no cell service  at on of the AL stages.  I did one this week in a town where we have a monthly event. It was sequential  and on the stage  I did just before the event, I couldn't think of the third word I had to enter.  aWent to the event that was about a half mile away and thought of the word I needed  there. Entered it there  and it worked. That was way outside the 100 foot or so geofence that each stage had.  As long as you are inside the geofence when you attempt to answer, I think the app remembers.

  7. Found one about 15-20 years ago (long since archived) that was in the middle of the interstate. Thing was that there was a  drain pipe (that you could stand up in) that was accessible from a park  on one side  of the highway.  In the highway median was an access way that went up to the surface with a ladder. The cache was on the bottom of the ladder.

  8. There is a puzzle cemetery cache  near me  (the final is in the public park outside the cemetery). it involves going to 25 graves and  getting info about the gravestones (like how many flowers on he back, count the bars on the window of the crypt, etc.) of famous or semi-famous residents. It is in the largest cemetery in the area and if that feels daunting, there are brochures available with the locations  and info on 75 famous people buried there. In he summer they even have a tram tour you can take around the cemetery. The graves are for  such people as Rick James (rock star), Millard Filmore (US President~1850), and Willis Carrier (the inventor of air conditioning).

  9. I  had a nano  on a footbridge that was rated a D1.T1. It was literally a 1 terrain as it was about a foot off the pavement and could be reached by anyone in  wheelchair. People were DNFing it. People were not reading the page as I had people saying they had to go in the gully under the bridge (itself a 1.5T) and some hiding there own replacement under the bridge when they couldn't find the nano even though it was there. Had to put a large font notice on the page that it was a T1and a nano. Finally archived it in February when someone said that the footbridge had been removed.

  10. Did that . After reinstall, it freezes on turn on location services screen.Location services already on. Also have Cachly installed. That works  fine. Like to have both so I can tell if one or the other is not accurate.
