  1. Hi, not sure if anyone has reported this , but the "Sort by Distance from me" functionality in Lists isn't working properly any longer in the Android App. I am not sure when it broke, but it was working a few months ago. I haven't checked for traditional caches, but I have a list of solved puzzles and the sort by distance from me no longer is working properly. See result of sorted list below. I am showing the list part the way down to illustrate a mix of collected/uncollected mystery caches but still the order doesn't make any sense. Hopefully it is a quick fix. Best regards, Plowfive.
  2. No, not quite. What I want to be able to do, is say search for a small town, display caches around that town on the map and then be able to add all the caches on the map to a list (as can be done on the app) without having to use the PQ interface. Then I could save the list offline for offline caching in the area which may not have good mobile coverage. thks & regards,Plowfive.
  3. Nice improvements guys. Appreciated! One for the wish list -> to be able to create a list from the map directly, similar to what can be done on the app. Regards, plowfive
  4. This doesn't help for the app, but may help for your immediate need of plotting a course for the puzzle series. On the website: Go to Advanced Search and search for the series caches, perhaps using the 'geocache name contains' filter or whatever filter works for the series. Once the results are listed, then click on the 'Map these Geocaches' button. That will show the solved caches at their solved location. Wow! That's awesome! Thanks noncentric, that's a great tip! Really appreciate it!
  5. Yes, if they could add an option to show solved puzzle locations on the main map (app and web) I would be a happy camper... er cacher! This to me is a very important feature. I've got a group of 30 odd puzzles in a series solved, and would like to see them on a map so I can plan my route also. Some other apps can do this , so would be great if the official app could also do it.
  6. Spot on BDP, you nailed all my concerns re the app. Its definately improving, and it is visually a nice looking app, but in terms of functionality it still has a ways to go. The lists feature is awesome though. I really like that. With the new app, the add photo and add favourites are broken for me (they did work for a while). I didn't even bother reporting them, I thought they were so fundamental they would have had been deluged with complaints. I now see a few other threads on this forum on these topics - so its not just me! I really think a little more testing should be done before the app updates area unleashed - I get the feeling not many people use the Android app. If they fix the issues you mention + the other bugs then it will be a really good app. I haven't checked out the new version of the app yet (haven't got the update yet) so am interested in the offline logging feature. That will be another great improvement. But I really think access to the personal cache notes is a key feature that should be added very soon - so can check notes have left on puzzles etc.
  7. Thanks Rocketgarden - that was the problem it works now! I had the Alibaba app installed - but don't use it (yes I was referring to the Driving Directions button). I had better update my rating on Google Play for the app now! Thanks so much - really appreciate the prompt response. But still can't navigate (via Driving Directions) to solved solution for a puzzle cache - it only goes to the nominal location - if this could be fixed I would be very happy cacher! Thanks again!
  8. Maybe its a southern hemisphere thing - we have negative latitudes down here! Perhaps they can't easily test the app for some scenarios.
  9. Hi, I was keen to try out whether the new Android update fixed the navigate to solved location/waypoint bug I pointed out in this forum a month or so back. But unfortunately when I choose the navigate button now (post the latest Android app update), the app crashes! I am using Google Pixel S phone, with latest update. Would appreciate it, if you could have a look into this one. Thanks. Plowfive.
  10. That's how it's meant to work but it doesn't. When you press the navigate button (the arrow) it will open your navigation app (in my case Google maps) and navigate to the original posted coords no matter what. One of the HQ Lackeys contacted me and investigated and agrees it is a bug needing fixing.
  11. Hi, I am surprised this isn't already listed in here, but in the Android version of the app, navigation only works to the originally posted coords for a puzzle cache. Even if I add a waypoint , it is impossible to choose and navigate to the waypoint. The app will always navigate to the originally posted coords, no matter what I do (the compass though will point to the solved location). This is a real pain as I then need to put coords into google maps manually to get to the final (yes a first world problem!). My wife has an iphone and it is possible to navigate to the solved location with it. Ideally it should be possible in Android to navigate either to original posted coords or the solved coords, or any user defined waypoint. To me this is such a fundamental feature of the app I am surprised it hasn't had more/any bug reports. Would greatly appreciate it if the developers could have a look at this issue. Given that it is working in IOS would be nice to also have it working in the Android app for those of us that don't use Apple. thanks and regards, Ken (Plowfive).
  12. Hi, this hasn't quite fixed it either unfortunately. This is what I see when I use new app for a solved puzzle after logging out and logging back in: When I first select a solved cache, the little map shows the nominal unsolved location. If I press start, a line is drawn from my current location to the solved location now (which is great). At this stage there is now only an option to use compass (none for navigation), If I use the compass, I am pretty sure it will go to the solved location. If i then click on the solved location in the map , I get both the compass option and the navigate option. If I chose the navigate option it is definitely navigating to the original posted coords, not the solved coords. If I choose the waypoints tab and select either a waypoint or the solved coordinates, pressing the navigate button still navigates to the original location. So basically there is no way to navigate to the solved coordinates or a manually entered waypoint. I have to get my wife to navigate with her iphone where it works, or have to manually enter the solved coords into Google maps and get it to navigate to it. I'd really love if you guys good look into this and get it sorted. To me it's a pretty fundamental issue and I am surprised more people haven't complained (I thought it was just me not understanding how to use the app!). But anyways I really do like the layout of the new app and hope you can get this bug on the Android version of the app squashed soon. Thanks in advance.
  13. Yes, i find navigating to solved coordinates doesn't work on the new Android app (or very occasionally does). Whereas if I use the compass, it does use the solved coordinates. My wife who has is using IOS/Apple, doesn't use the compass, but the navigate to solved coordinates works for her. Is this a known issue, or is the issue me?
