  1. I went back today and took a side view of the station to a get clearer picture of the raised rod for my recovery report to NGS. Is this what you see too Bill? Thank you for the help. Take care, ODS
  2. Yes. I do wish they provided more details in some their recovery reports. I wished they included pictures too of their recoveries especially the older monumented ones. I have tried to take decent pictures of the stations I recover. NGS has used some and not used some in the updated datasheets. Pretty cool to see them. I hope it helps future folks find the station. Take care, ODS
  3. Hi Bill, thank you for the response. I believe you might be correct about the rod lifting by freeze-thaw cycles. I reread the description and it does say rod w/ no sleeve. We typically don’t have deep frost, but over the years we have had bouts of cold weather followed immediately by warm weather. There didn’t seem to be any vandalism that I noticed, but I wasn’t looking for any, soI could have missed it. The rod was still straight when I found it. And it looks like the original steel ball. The USPSQD report from 2017 said they recovered in good condition. I guess a lot can happen in 3+ years. I thought about a picture with a side view after I got home. There are some more stations I want to look for in the area, so I can go back and take more pictures. Thank you for your help. Take care, ODS
  4. Hi all, I recently recovered station EZ1965 (M 218) but am not sure how to report the condition to NGS. From the NGS description it says the rod should be recessed 4 inches below NGS flange with access cover, but I found the rod tip approximately 1-2 inches above the flange. The access cover was broken off and I could not put it back on due to the rod tip being above the flange. Would I report it as being in poor condition? Please let me know your advice and suggestions. Thank you in advance for your time and help. Take care, ODS
  5. Sorry. I meant to Congratulate you too. Did you have to drive (or go far) far to get one? Do you have Agent of dusk? I hid 2 agents of Dawn, so have one already.
  6. So jealous. Lol. Hopefully one will show up around me.
  7. Congrats on snagging one! Which one did you get? Dawn or Dusk?
  8. I agree. That’s why I choose to be a hider rather than a finder...lol. I have been waiting (and hoping) that someone hides an agent of dusk near me, but so far nada. Im not driving a long way to get one either. Kudos to those folks that drive 2+ hrs to find one.
  9. Hi all, I looked (and recovered) some of the stations that are listed for NC. There are some stations have been affected by roadwork and are unrecoverable. Will they select other stations to be used for this project? Anyone know? Take care, ODS
  10. Wow. From the logs it sounded like there were a few finders at the same spot looking for one tag. Kind of exciting to read about, but not the kind of excitement you want when looking for a tag...lol
  11. Sorry I meant to clarify it means you can still find an agent of dawn tag.
  12. You can still find any hider’s agent dawn tag. It should be a different number. I received 2 agent dawn tags and they have different numbers on them. My first one has been claimed and I am about to hide my second one. I have been trying to find an agent dusk tag, but looks like no one hiding in NC (yet?) . I was 1week too early as I saw an agent dusk tag hidden in Myrtle beach sc after I got back from vacation.
  13. Please accept my late Congrats. I saw you had claimed a tag and meant to congratulate you, but work got in the way and I forgot....
  14. My screen looks a little different than yours? You are Android? I’m a iPhone person
  15. Yeah I saw that also, but only 2 tags so far hidden and found. So maybe game is in early stages?
  16. I think I circled the hider of tag 237 in yellow.
  17. I tried finding the hider directly from the tag on the map page and got the same result. I was able to see who hid the tag if you go to the tag page and search for the tag number. Hope this helps.
  18. I had a default setting that I thought took care of all notifications, but I guess not. I just updated my alerts. So hopefully someone hides an agent dark or an ape nearby. Thank you to you and Max and 99 for both your help. Just waiting now....lol
  19. I was able to get an agent tag to hide when I emailed SnagTheTag folks and they let me know they had one extra I could have. I didn’t realize another game (get the Ape) had started too. So far I don’t think there has been any agent tags in my neck of the woods. Do you know if you have to set notifications on for every single game? I wish they sent out a newsletter detailing upcoming games. I’ll need to keep a better eye out on the website. Good to hear it’s trackable on Geocaching.com
  20. Hi. It’s perfectly fine for you to “retrieve” it out of your cache and move it along especially if you can help it along it’s mission (if it has one). You can always just discover the geocoin, or claim it if it is a unactivated. Take care, ODS .
  21. I have iPhone and was able to load an image to my draft log with no problem. Just added photos to 3 drafts today. Have you tried restarting your phone? Or logging out and back into the app? Or deleting the app and reinstalling? If you still are having trouble after doing all that, then I am not sure what else to suggest other than contacting GS and see if they are getting bug reports from other iPhone users. Good luck! Let us know if it gets resolved.
  22. Great looking TB! I am not sure what type of weather you have in Australia, but from my experience (here in the US), the small chain that is sent with the Tags don’t usually fair well. There have been a few times I have found TBs in a wet cache and the chain has rusted off, which might lead to the TB tag getting separated from its attachment. I have switched to using zip ties to attach my tag to the traveler and mission statement and placing them in small freezer bags. good luck. Hope your TB has some great adventures during its journey.. Which reminds me... I need to send out my next round of TBs....lol. take care, ODS
  23. I have started looking around the SC area that I will be near and have noticed a few BMs that can be located just walking down the sidewalk. Im looking forward to hopefully finding them. Thank you for the helpful advice and hints. take care, ODS
  24. Hi, I believe you can list the benchmarks that you find in Australia on the Waymarking website. There is even a category already created for that purpose. Good luck and let us know how your BM adventures turnout. Take care, ODS
  25. There is actually another snag the tag game going on right now. Somehow I missed the notification for it and missed getting tags for it. Anyone know if this new game’s tags was sold through geocaching.com store?
