DNF is not a 4 letter word If you don't find it, no worries , move on. We usually give ourselves a 45 minute search window before calling it. Maybe your window is shorter? We will nearly always return to a DNF in our area until we find it. Obviously this is not feasible for vacation DNF's.

Working on one that will be well over $200. Could be more if I go in a certain direction. Would tell more but may give stuff away! The plan is a 5*x5*

Geocaching "six Degrees" ?
Two Geeks and a GPS replied to DutchHorn's topic in General geocaching topics
I was on our local cachers website and noticed a name in the "newest registered users" section, sent the person an email and it turns out, that I am friends with his brother! -
We will hopefully have it done by then. The cooler weather of spring makes B&G so much easier! I could be around to laugh...eerrrg...aaggh "guide" the newbs!

I'm Considering A 5* Cache...
Two Geeks and a GPS replied to Wandering Bears's topic in General geocaching topics
Thinking of a 5* requiring a boat. If you don't have one, I will supply coords for mine, an old jon boat (stored on my property). You still have to get the boat to the lake, about a 1/2 mile. My "No Trespassing" signs will be adorned w/ GC.com stickers to let people know they are allowed. What do you think? -
I love reading these logs! Especially the one written by a Knight.....the Mart of Wal....CLASSIC Very creative on some of these! Good thread.

Act one, Take five is our cache, we get some good logs on it, too bad it is so tough, alot of people don't do the toughies.
-
Also a favorite log of mine for Bill & Gary's Excellent Adventure IV This one always gets good logs, the galleries are pretty good too! edit: to add link

How Extreme Will You Go?
Two Geeks and a GPS replied to LokiDucks's topic in General geocaching topics
Ask and you shall recieve. This is the "return" trip. The girl in the photo has just vaulted back from the island. It could have been worse, we were able to catch her before she tumbled backwards. As it was, she was waist deep! The rest of the group made it through unscathed! -

Mrs. Geek always laughs at the "regulation CSI sexy tank top" (or so we call it) on a crime scene!

We recently cached in Georgia, and the state parks there require locks on caches......at least that is what the cache page said.

Cleaning & Identifying Skulls
Two Geeks and a GPS replied to CamoCachers's topic in General geocaching topics
Had to do it in college for a mammology class. Boil them in a bleach water solution. Being in college, I naturally waited till the night before they were due. I had 5 skulls (mouse to deer size) in my apartment freezer for a whole semester! My roommates were thrilled! They were even more thrilled when they learned the boiling was being done in every pot we owned and used for dinner! Identification is usually done using teeth and there are many books/fieldguides on the subject. -
Mrs. Geek and I our HUGE CSI (the original, not the two copies!) fans and that always drives us crazy when they do that! Couldn't you potentially step on other evidence in the dark while you're "focused" on the beam?

I seem to recall that they have actually contacted our local geocaching organization (MiGo, Michigan Geocaching Organization), to inquire about partnering up. I could be wrong though.

Two Geeks and a GPS replied to Googling Hrpty Hrrs's topic in General geocaching topics
Baseball is a sport where games are played. As is football, hockey and basketball.
