  5. sbell Jon is not trying to be disrespectful to you. Are you reading the other posts in this forum? We are trying to not have a bigger mess than we already have. X
  6. And? I guess I'm just wondering why you guys are posting all this. X
  7. Meh. You could not be more wrong. It is people who are afraid to post anything for fear that someone in SC might read it that will cause this legislation to be passed. When a legislator is on the fence about an issue, he will likely not vote for it if he thinks that others will be seriously angered by his actions. As I've posted before, Ceips is not your target. You will not sway how she votes. You must concentrate on those pols who don't believe that this is an important issue. When they see that you are fired up about it to the point of fighting to get them kicked out if they vote against you, they will consider voting against this bill. Do not ask your fellow citizens to curb their dissatisfaction. It is not your place. We (SCGA Steering Committee) just had a meeting about all this today. We ask that all you folks be respectful when addressing this topic in the forums. Some things posted here have been taken out of context whether intentionally or unintentionally. You are right, Mrs. Ceips is not our target. Our GOAL is to try to come to a fair and respectable middle ground on this matter. Believe me, there will be a law passed. This has already been stated by one of the senators on the senate sub-committee looking this matter over. ANY and ALL comments and jokes, in good taste or bad, funny or not, can and will be used against US. Not just me, Geoholic, or Jon and Miki, ALL OF US. If this bill passes without a fair compromise in South Carolina, nothing stops another state from passing a law identical to the one that may pass here. And we would help your state in any way we could so that you wouldn't have to go through what we are going through. Some of you think we've been slacking off and are not ready for the months to come. You couldn't be farther from the truth. I spent my time in the Army and one thing I do hold dear is the freedoms that alot of men have fought and died for. One of those freedoms is freedom of speech. However as we all know that and any freedom can be abused. We wouldn't take that away from you. Just please watch what you say, the walls have ears. If you don't have anything nice to say about someone, make sure they're out of the room. Here we can't make sure they are out of the room. "I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death your right to say it." I don't know who said that. But I believe in it. You can still get your point across without being destructive to the cause. Respectfully, X
  8. Please, please, PLEASE drop the comments toward the Representative that is pushing this bill. WE have enough trouble as it is. X
  9. I like the idea of sub-chapters. But the first thing to worry about is January and the Senate. IMHO. X
  10. No ruffled feathers. Members listed are current. Fast Frank and Wanda have been contacted and confirmed their willingness to work on the Steering Comittee Richard. Sorry to be so short, got a youngun crying behind me. Members are contacting via email. X
  11. As far as caching goes over the summer and during the latest gas crisis, I like most of you, did not get to cache hardly at all. However to defend against this bill I did make a PQ that gave me a listing of caches within a 500 mile radius and checked that list for possible logs that could fuel Ceips argument in the Senate. It doesn't take much to read through except time. The cachers I asked to edit logs were extremely understanding and changed their logs right away if anything was thought to be ammo-type logging. If I didn't contact you back when I asked you to change a log, I am sorry. Whoever I contacted your cooperation was extremely appreciated. This bill may still pass. As far as the first day calendar for the senate, we aren't even listed. If anyone has any info please pass it along. X
  12. From what I heard people from the upstate said they would be more then willing to help but no one ever contacted them after the meeting. The upstate wants to be involved, just need to know what to do and where to go so they can be. Thanks GH28. We did feel as if we were left out in the cold for awhile. It's just as much our fault as anyones. We did try to make contact and had contact with a few. Jon & Miki are still quiet active and want to continue with the SCGA. Swampthing is as well. Heck here's a list. Jon & Miki Waterbaron Swampthing Parrolet hologram21 Clan X-Man Fastfrank & Wanda TinSparrow (Who sadly will be leaving us to move to Florida with his signifigant other.) Overcached (Who has spent quite some time working with Dr Leider on an alternative wording of the bill that is proposed in South Carolina.) You see there is a whole list of folks right there. CR has been extremely active as far as keeping up the website. The SCGA is alive. Two of the steering commitee members, Parrolet and I are two of the founding members of South Carolina Piedmont Cachers. I find it insulting to state that there was no interest in the upstate. There is heavy interest in the upstate. The SCGA steering committee will be holding a meeting on Dec 17 as a matter of fact. We'll see where we go from there. No disrespect intended. CR was an original member and I think founder of the SCGA. For that and the time he and Sissy have spent I am grateful. But don't lessen my folks and our interest. X

  14. Well, you should sell it. Just kidding, SHE said no. X
  15. OK. Seriously I could give a s*** about high numbers. I've been caching for two years and tried to hunt only quality caches. We all know the problems there. The only time I got a kick out of a "high numbers" cacher whom I genuinely liked logged a DNF on one of my caches. I got a kick out of stumping them. But then you do think how many others stumped that person. How many DNF's aren't logged? After all it's just you and the unfound cache in the woods. I agree that it degrades the game. And I want it to be different. But I can only play the way I play. X
