  1. First bubble pack had these - and the second had these- Not a bad couple of days
  2. Coins received today - thanks.
  3. There was a problem in Ireland where after placing a new cache and then publishing it logbooks went missing from the caches - causing the owner to go back to replace logbooks . It was solved by making the caches Premium Member caches .It seems that the person who was removing the logbooks then could not see the caches and was not able to cause their mischief.
  4. Just ordered one of each finish of these stunning coins . I only saw them for the first time 10 minutes ago and I just had to have one of each . Well done to all who worked on the coin .
  5. I have a BB Storm and am beta testing the CacheBerry version with the inbuilt compass. I live in Northern Ireland and my network does not restrict use of the GPS in the phone so can not comment on your situation . What I will say is that Verizon users SHOULD be complaining - the more you complain the more chance that it the GPS will be unlocked. How long do you have to sign up (length of contract) and how easy is it to change carriers? Although the CacheBerry program is still in beta testing - it's good - you are going to want it . The compass works well and after a few more additions coming this year I think it will be as good if not better than the i-phone or the Trimble application.
  6. Wanting to trade a Garmin UK - Angel of the North coin (activated ) - for a Garmin UK Big Ben coin . Both people who have discovered it have other finds or discoveries on other Angel of the North coins so the finds can be deleted if desired. Edit - adding link to coin page- Garmin UK Angel of the North Coin
  7. sign up at CacheBerry and ask Bruce (by pm ) to be added to the beta testing program . Of course you must be willing to run untested software in your phone and accept the risks that this entails
  8. Another beta tester of the CacheBerry Application here. I'm using a Storm and the compass part is great .When checking one of my caches 2 days ago when at the cache site it was reading 1 meter to go and 1 meter accuracy. I have over 2500 caches (all caches on the Island of Ireland ) loaded with descriptions ,hints and logs. when I find the cache I can write the field notes there and then then email to my desktop for uploading to GS.com when I get home. I honestly beleive this application will be better than the i-phone application when it's finished. The developer is working hard on it and has big plans for the future.
  9. I met all 3 of them last night in Dublin. A good night was had by all.
  10. Glad to hear that you are getting better .
  11. 7000 caches -thats a seriously big number .Well done and keep it up . At my current rate of finds I may never get there.
  12. Thats why I'm going PM -won a Garmin nuvi 765T in a Garmin competion before Christmas and have just discovered the macro that loads the cache to the unit .So much easier when you have 2 young( 8 +4 year old) children in tow.I had previously found all my caches with a mobile phone and was semi paperless . Now only puzzles and multi caches will be printed out if they warrant it.
  13. Absolutely stunning HGF but then that's what I say when I see any of your coins. As yet I have not held one in my hand but someday I hope to. Unfourtunately when I'm in Scotland I don't have the time to go climbing mountains and this is about the only cache I can acess-The Hidden Staircase.
  14. Fair enough - I offer my sincerest appologies to sTeam Traen and mtn -man . I did not realise that sTeam Trean is a reviewer in another part of the forum. And again thanks for clearing up my confusion to the differences between charter members and premium members. And just to clarify my position - I'm not in any financial hardship - I have been around nearly a year trying it out so to speak and like the game . I will be signing up for a premium account in the next week or so. Thats what I like about here - you learn something every day
  15. After nearly 24 hours 1 Premium member has attempted to answer 1 of the 2 questions I asked .Another Premium member agrees and a moderator adds 3 words. While I appreciate your reply sTeam Traen I'd question what you know about the inner thoughts and workings of GSP. I was hoping for an intelligent thought out answer from at the very least a mod , but would have prefered a charter member or above to have answered. I guess it was to much to ask for . Good luck Moss Trooper I wish you all the best in the future.
  16. I was lucky enough to get one of the 2007 Ireland Coins lately when 3 came up for sale .As far as I know they all sold but I'll give you a look at mine- Beefy4605 Ireland 2007 Coin
  17. I think MissJenn covered most of what you are asking in this post. A cut and paste answer is not really what I want . If that is all that can be provided then perhaps the Moderators can refer it to someone higher up .If no one wants to answer in open forum then they can drop me a confidential pm .As you have pointed out I have no agenda here.
  18. I don't want to stir up a hornets nest here (sorry but you know what I mean )but there are a couple of things I'd like explained . Firstly- If Groundspeak is happy to sell tracking numbers to put on a geocoin which is being used to raise money for charity why will it not allow a thread where a geocacher is trying to raise money for the same charity? To most people this will seem like double standards GSP is happy to make money from tracking numbers but won't allow any publicity for the charity from anyone else. Secondly - If the persons involved had approached the moderators before posting the threads with their intentions would a "proper " "I'm doing this for charity " thread have been allowed? In other words if the individuals concerned had approached the Mods and said we are doing this can we advertise what we are doing and why before going public with it would it have been allowed? I understand this will be difficult to answer due to the circumstances we now find ourselves in. By asking these questions no one should assume that I am on one side or the other . I have no intrest in the " history " of anyone involved and am just trying to sort a few things out in my own little world.
  19. DNF? How long did you search? LOL Lovely pic with the blue sky. About 20 minutes or until my hands went blue. Was pleased with the pic as the BBC printed it on the News website -
  20. I really should learn to use the search button
  21. Looking through the new Argos catoluge today and saw this - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...%7C12108136.htm Anyone know anything about them ? Can you geocache with them ? Can you import caches to them? Can you enter cord's to them? Buy or avoid?
  22. I was at an event yesterday where the event was for all but the caches (10) we found along the route we walked were all premium member caches . I walked, I found them and when I finally decide to sign up for Premium membership I will log the caches but not before. Whats the problem if you want to log a PM cache become a PM
  23. Forgot to add this little goodie - http://www.nokia.com/betalabs/locationtagger When you take pictures with this running in the backgroung the co ordinates are stored with the picture data . When you download them to Nokia Photos it will place them on the map so you can see exactly where they were taken.Part of the OVI software suite.
