I play with mine. Some I keep. Some I swap. The keepers are pocket pieces. I carry them to school and share them with my students and others. I have introduced several people to caching for sure, maybe to coins as well. I like a sexy piece of metal in my hands. That's what my coins are all about. The icons are cool too, but they get sticky and run in my pockets.

Very sexy: Great art. Tracking numbers. Clever idea. Put me down for 3 & 1 LE. Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

I like the "Back - Antique Silver" sample that you show. I don't know which finish it has, but it's my favorite. Antique Silver is my favorite metal, so that may shade my preference as well. If/when I get something to trade, I would love one of yours, whichever finish you go with. Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

Please put me down for 3 (three) regular coins and 1 (one) LE. Thanks, Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

Disappearing Coins
Nomad and the Librarians replied to WWC-World's Worst Cacher's topic in Trackables
II have started 8 TBs. All have gone missing. At least one from its first cache. I have restarted several bugs, replacing the missing ones. They have all gone missing. I have some unstarted tags. I doubt I will start another bug. I will probably give them away as prizes or gifts or something. I will not start any of my coins. -

What Was In Your Mailbox Today!
Nomad and the Librarians replied to Cornerstone4's topic in Trackables
Finally got something in the mail! Got my first Geocoins: two Canine Cachers Coin (2nd edition). Gorgeous coins. I hope mine, if/when, are as attractive. -
I am not sure what "virtual" geocoins are or how they work. I see that people have placed photocopied coins in caches so others can log them and the coin gets the mileage. (Since you are talking about only placing virtual coins in virtual caches, I am thinking this is not what you are referring to.) I don't have any problem with that. I will never willingly place a coin in a cache. I have started eight TBs so far, and they have all be lost or stolen. I have several unstarted TB tags. I will probably give them away as prizes rather than send them out to get lost or stolen along with all my other ones. I like the idea of being able to place facsimiles of my coins in caches for people to see, log and pass along. I haven't done it yet, but I might start when things in my life slow down enough for me to start actively caching again. (Winter break starts next Tuesday!) I would be interested in learning what virtual geocoins are and hearing what others have to say about them. Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

2005 Kitsap County Coin On Sale Now!
Nomad and the Librarians replied to Shop99er's topic in Trackables
Got it done! I am glad you are restricting sales to 1 per customer. Maybe that divorce will not be necessary. The coin looks great. Thanks, Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians -
So, I'm learning a new song on the Spoons. It goes something like this: Anticipation, anticipation Is making me late Is keeping me way-ay-ay-ay-ayee-ting Ask me to sing it next time we're together. Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

I have only joined this subset of geocaching. I have bought several coins. (Okay, more than several.) I have not received any of the ones I have bought. I understand that the sellers have scores, perhaps hundreds, of orders to fill, so I am not expecting my coins over night, but for some it is going on a month since I bought them. Is there any way to politely ask for an update or eta? Is there a to-be-expected waiting period? Thanks, Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

Requesting Special Numbers
Nomad and the Librarians replied to bikinibottomfeeders's topic in Trackables
I thought CavScout's request reflected his/her affiliation with the 7th Cav. How dumb am I? -
Coin Minting Special Price
Nomad and the Librarians replied to Nomad and the Librarians's topic in Trackables
That's the one. Many thanks. -
I'm in the same boat as you JackSpratsMom&Dad. I promised the boss I wouldn't buy any more until some of the ones I have bought trickled in, but I had to have a Groundhog coin. (Well, three groundhog coins.) It is my FAVORITE holiday of the year. One just can't beat the leftovers! (It's also my favorite movie of all time.) Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

Someone, among the geocoin threads, announced a special for Christmas. I think it was 100 coins for $330. I am trying to find that thread. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

Someone posted a notice about a seasonal special. I think it said 100 coins for $330. Can anyone remember in which thread it was posted or where I can find this notice? Thanks, Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians

Illustrator and InDesign.

Put me on the waiting list for three tornadoes, if I am allowed that many. If not, then two or one, whatever I am allowed. Thanks.

$0.35 X 300 coins comes to $105 + $100 S&H = $205 dollar difference. Seems significant go me.

Any chance you'd consider spelling "a lot" correctly? What's wrong with "Chef-cache-a-lot"?

Gorgeous coin. Are they for sale? How can I get three? Thanks,

Golden Dragon Coming December
Nomad and the Librarians replied to Chaos A.D./aka Arlsdaddy's topic in Trackables
I like a Dutch auction on eBay. How about restricting it to people who didn't have a chance to get one of the first ones. Spread the wealth a little. That way there'd be a lot more trading. (Actually, I don't think you should restrict it at all, but surely restricting it to people who already have one is the least equitable way to proceed. Not that there is any requirement for you to be equitable. As someone noted earlier, it's your sale. You're the boss.) -
I can't see why anyone would care what I did with my own coins. If I want to place a paper copy of my coin in every cache I visit, why would anyone care? (I haven't done this yet, but it seems like a good way to get my coins traveling without losing them at the first cache.) Is there a prize I would be cheating someone of? Would I clog the TB computers? Would I disappoint the people who sought the cache so they could steal my coin? I'm not understanding the downside. It seems that too many people are too interested in what other people do. No one ever suggests rule changes to stop themselves from doing something. They always suggest changes to stop someone else. Maybe everyone minding his or her own business would be the way to go?

Kansas Antique Silver Geocoin Order
Nomad and the Librarians replied to Ladycacher's topic in Trackables
Hi Ladycacher, I ordered one gold, though I have not paid for it yet. (I'm at school and only want to stretch their equipment so far.) I will Paypal as soon as I return home. I know you gave instructions about getting the shipping adjusted, but I'll be darned if I can find or remember them. I will continue to look, but if you could remind me, it would make it much less painful. Gorgeous coin, by the bye! Now my dilemma is, which do I keep and which do I trade? Is my collection enhanced more by keeping the more prestigious coin or by trading the more prestigious coin for another coin I don't have? (Not asking, just thinking aloud.) Some problems it's fun to cogitate. Thanks, Nomad of Nomad and the Librarians -
Unregistered Geocoin Found In Cache
Nomad and the Librarians replied to Mary&Dave's topic in Trackables
There's nothing saying the cache owner can't put an unregistered TB or coin in a cache as "loot." It's a sexy FTF prize. It's nice to find as any kind of prize. I have become disillusioned with TBs and coins as travelers. Every TB I have started has been lost or stolen. I doubt that I'll start another, though I have several unstarted tags on my desk. I will not release any of my coins as TBs, though I might use one as cache loot some day, though it would be an expensive prize for me. Also, I prefer "family" loot more than "adult" loot. I try to stock my caches with kid-friendly items.
