    Waiting

Oh, I knew I could move them. I have them in a hotel by the airport here in Portland, Maine. I am thinking it might just be slow and maybe we will notice them moving when people travel for the holidays.

    Waiting

Fair enough number. I guess I sometimes get concerned but I do know that caching has slowed down a little in this area. Also, I guess they have more of a chance of being grabbed where they are than on my desk. lol

    West

Greetings all. We may be travelling out west next year at some point, not sure yet. Two areas we may hit are Vegas and Oakland, California. Anyone from that area that may be able to point out some good caches or caching areas?

    Waiting

How long do most people wait for your TBs to move before you decide to retrieve them yourselves and find a new home?
  6. i gotta say, this is a cool coin! i bought one, traded it and then instantly thought, "i really want one for me" so ordered another. the black nickel is nifty! rsg a satisfied customer I think it is a very cool coin and I am a BIG X-Files fan. Too bad coins are not in the budget for us right now.
  7. Its important to realize that we all have days like that and even a cache with a difficulty of 1 can seem like a 4 or 5 to the right/wrong person, regardless of their caching experience.
  8. I don't see what the big deal is but you are entitled to your opinion. Honestly, Premium member caches are created by members wanting to give back to the community and other premium members. It is a choice for the hider. Besides, there are PLENTY of caches open to all. I don't think anyone has ever said that unpaying members are "Freeloaders". If they did, I missed that convo. I guess what it comes down to is that Groundspeak runs the site and you can either be a paying member or not. It is your choice. However, there is PLENTY of fun to be had by all.
  9. Because lots of cachers assume that if they can enter some property without being arrested then it's obviously public property and they can obviously place a cache there without needing permission. But a few states have laws specifically banning geocaches in cemeteries (TN, and I think SC, as examples). In other states it seems like every other cache is in a cemetery (OH and rural MS). Setting aside the public vs. private property debate, I have seen some well-done cemetery caches. But all of the caches I liked were not actually in the actively used portion of the cemetery. Sometimes on cemetery property and usually requiring driving/walking through the cemetery for access, but not near any graves (usually on a steep hill overlooking everything). Placing a cache on a headstone (I've seen it), or among historic graves without headstones, is just plain tacky and a very good way to get banned from the property. Not to mention, make the geocaching community look very bad.
  10. Ok...my attempt. CLV3...1/3 of Team V3. Sadly I did not get to dress up but my son Cole of Team V3 dressed as one of his idols.
  11. You need to upload your photo, you can add it to one of your cache logs, then view the photo from the cache log and click on it to open in its own window - that it the url to use to add it to your post. Hope that is understandable. Yes it is. Thank you.
  12. How do we post a picture if there is no URL. For instance, if it is on your hard drive and not uploaded anywhere.
  13. Yeah....I do it for the money, fame and the chicks!
  14. We (me and my wife and my son) released our first set of travel bugs. We each have one and we are trying to do a TB race with each other. Though I have not yet done a link through a message here I am going to try so you can see them. If This Bus Is A Rocking... Cole's Crime Fighting Machine Melissa's Fast Track Around The World These are our very first bugs and they have yet to move lol. In all fairness it has not been that long. We actually have them in a travelbug hotel by the local jetport so they will hopefully get some good mileage.
  15. Guess that does not work with firefox.. It does work for me.
  16. I haven't had every bug/coin dropped off within 2 weeks but I do it as soon as I am able and I log it as soon as I do it (that afternoon if possible). To me it is a thing of respect to not keep the owner in suspense any longer than I have to.
  17. I do that ALL of the time and I have not even been caching for a year yet.
  18. you and your wife and son go grocery shopping, and you leave them to go look at tupperware containers.
  19. I use a Garmin GPSmap60. Not sure how "outdated" I would be called but it works fine for me. Just started caching this year and my unit seems to do what I need it to.
  20. I got a kick out of them all as well. Thank you for this great idea of a cointest!
  21. Hehehe I am from Portland (big city) Maine and until I met my in-laws I had never heard the word dooryard. Still cracks me up when I see/hear it.
