  1. OK I changed mine a little, but I'm not sure if I'll keep it that way
  2. Almost every bike rack I see has some old lock attached to it, so I guess, you could really hide one of those ANYWHERE!
  3. I've found that mostly what you get for your extra money on the more expensive units is memory and processing speed, and all the whiz bang features. the started types should work just as well, if you have the patience to plod through them. When my Legend was missing, I borrowed a yellow Etrex, and just missed my clickstick so much, I had to go buy a new legend. I found the old one later, and sold it to a new team "Pirate Crazed"
  4. I looked at a map on their site, and it looks to me like there just aren't that many out there yet, and I think as there are more it will catch on exponentially(sp?).I don't see that many dots in the west
  5. I hope a few more features come with that $100 dollar increase.
  6. ok, ok quit complaining and start workin' on being #2,000,000. oops, I guess the complaining will help get us there!!!
  7. Cool! I don't think I've ever looked that far down on the page. I like the feature where it has links to all that are on right now.
  8. Each of us cachers has our own way of making a name for ourselves, for some it's by finding 5000 caches, for some it's always being FTF, others hosting Events, or specializing in puzzles, coveted sig items, etc. etc. etc....... For me it's by running my Gamecards, and for the reviewers it's just "being a reviewer". I don't think many of them would be trying to get FTF, I'm sure they don't have time. It's a nice surprise to get one, but I don't put too much effort into it. I think I have 3 with 300 total finds
  9. The problem I have with TRAVEL BUGS is that two of my 4 went missing into the hands of cachers that only apear to have existed for one weekend, and trey're just too expensive to lose that easily
  10. I just got some free numbers and the main concern I have is that you can't track them without registering, and that may scare a lot of people off. I was also worried about the idea of spam
  11. Don't really know what you mean about pressurized cores shooting out. Could you explain what post you are talking about? Earlier in this threads many pages they talk about cutting open a glof ball and how some squirt out a liquid and others just explode. I've cut open several golf balls and never run into anything like that. I like the idea of half a golf ball screwed to the top of a film can, and my brother took my other idea, inside a tennis ball
  12. Cool offer Amish, I like mine the way it is. It's just a scanned impression of a handmade rubberstamp that a friend gave me years ago, that I've always used on things as a sort og trademark. She worked at a dentist office and had a wad of rubber leftover after taking a mold of someones teeth, so she rolled it up into a ball and made me the stamp
  13. QUOTE]I have made several buttons I will be using as trade items and I'm still working on one that I will use as a sig item. What size are those bottons? I really like the "Signal" style
  14. I have a Collect and Trade Game associated with my SIG items You can read about how the Game works in my profile. Use the "Postage Stamp" cards for a reference on the sizes. The smallest (Spongebob Faces and the Traffic Signs) are small enough to fit into a breath mint strips tin. I also have "Bookmark WILDCARDS" which are each one of a kind and are used while I'm on trips, or for special situations. They= Gamecards cost about 1.5 to 10 cents each to make but take a lot of work and can lead to prizes with a value up to about $10, also made by me. They seem to be enjoyed by most teams that have found them, especially the winning teams! I've heard other cachers say that about $1.00 is a good price range to shoot for when coming up with your item.
  15. Might I reccomend, each of you sets up a new account, and in each new profile insert the URL for your joint account in the "My Webpage" spot, and up date the old profile to show the two new user names
  16. oh yeah, I always laminate my Stashnotes , except in film cans
  17. Luckily I have the Epson, whitch uses water, sun, fade resistant ink!! like I said, I used the test print as a washcloth and there was no damage. but the printing was not as crisp as on paper, so fine print would not be the best.
  18. I'd be lookin' at the sky if the sky might be falling. what a widow maker!
  19. I usually use the term scavengar hunt, people seem to understand that more readily than "treasure hunt". and it also may give them the impression that whatever i'm looking for is temporary, so they may be less likely to look for and muggle the cache I did get some help from a stranger while I was on Angel Island, I had been talking to the guy on the ferry, and he was waiting for his elderly parents to make it up the stairs.
  20. Whenever my friends act shocked at how much I've spent on Geocache stuff, or photo stuff, and the amount of time I spend, I just remind them of the cost of the giant TV and 4 Game systems in their house! I'm WAY under budget!!!
  21. At a cache I babysit, I found logs by some muggles, and what I think is the "surprise" mentioned here's the log I posted with the text of what the muggles wrote in the logbook The log The only thing in the cache that I could guess was "the surprise", a gold bracelet with 16 saphires and 15 diamonds (one's missing). It's not top quality but it's nice anyway. The first three times I saw it I tossed it in the pile with all the other swag, assuming it was just some costume jewelry. Then one day I was giving the cache a serious overhaul, and as I was rubbing off some of the accumulation of whatever (seaspray, salt air, etc.), I noticed that it had a double safety clasp, and didn't think there would be such a clasp on junk jewelry, so that's when I took a good hard look at it. The best thing I left was a Leatherman that I found on the street, and at a 4.5 difficulty cache, $10.00 and a Cross pen. I need to go back and retrieve that one, because nobody else has gotten it, including the owner. here's that cache Worst Nightmare
