  1. Ummmm..... First, it's not MY Event, I'm just trying to see if anyone else is interested in going. Second, It was early in the morning so maybe I was a little confused but I believe I only posted it in THREE different forums, each covering a different region, and each covering a region that may not already be aware of the Event that's going. It may appear at first glance that I posted this to that many forums, but if one were to take the time to read what I was posting, they would see that I was discussing many different topics last night in several threads. If my name appeared at the top of eight different threads when you all woke up this morning I apologize that I couldn't get to sleep until after five, and that I am fairly new to spending much time in the forums, and have found many different topics that I think are interesting and of which I have some opinion to offer. I like MY spam fried by the way.
  2. I don't agree that posting to a thread is spamming, sorry if I hurt your feelings Maybe you could explain how my postings quilify as spamming? You know, "Spamming" has become such a hated word in the internet, maybe you should use it in the right context before accusing in a public forum someone you don't even know. I feel that each of the threads where I posted my note have their own relevency to the info I wrote. The postings I put up are no different than if I had gone to a few different groups of people that were attending a gathering, and spoken to each group about the same thing. If I'm at an Event and walk arround to all the little groups to introduce myself, explain my Gamecards and pass out a few free ones, is that spamming too? I don't know another way to get the attention af each of the regional groups all at one time so I had to post individually. OK so maybe the post in the San Diego thread was beyond my scope, but this is a FORUM not email so I hardly think that qualifies any of my actions as SPAM. Once again though, I'm sorry if I hurt anyones feelings
  3. My name was on all the top threads this morning so i just wanted to post one in here too. take a look at This Event In Ventura
  4. I didn't know about this thread so I had posted this in the SF area thread, What do you all think? On another note, I'll be listing soon an event to be held on April 1. It will be a low key thing at a pizza joint in the Dublin/Pleasanton area, with the main purpose of collecting travel bugs and fellow Geocachers that would like to join me in a trip toThis Event In Ventura I'll only be at the pizza thing for about an hour(around 7pm+), and then plan to drive to around Bakersfield on Friday night, and complete the journey to the Event on Saturday morning. contact me if you're interested in going to Ventura (Carpool, or Convoy)

  6. Any CVC folks interested in this. OOPS quoted that to the wrong thread, Sorry all.

  8. You may want to consider hosting a small pizza or coffee thing while you are there. look at these two I hosted one while in Albuquerque The one that gave me the idea It could be as simple as "I'll be at this coffee joint on such&such morning" It's an idea, mine was a blast
  9. Here I am, but most of my caching is in Marin. If you look at the list of finders on a local cache, you can click on the names next to the log to see where they are.
  10. There's a new team that I introduced, but they're not that active yet. They are Pirate Crazed, Antioch. I think maybe Team Artzest is also around there
  11. I think there may also be a limit to the number of tents per site, you may want to check on that, this sounds like a great Event, but I think I won't be able to come.
  12. I like this thread, can someone work up alternative ideas for this little girl? read further down to see whats been offered.
  13. my most out of the way chance meeting funny thing is, she and I are from opposite ends of the stete!!!
  14. It wasn't that big a deal, until I looked at the pics, then I almost fell out of my chair, he should edit his log to say "left bisquits, and a good laugh"
  15. count me in, I'm not a big fan of scented items either, although one time I did put a "stick up" into a cache, that had gotten moldy. (and I mean that black, sludgy water kind of moldy) and about three weeks later a cacher took it as trade, but the cache still smells like lemon now.
  16. a recent thread posted by a new cacher, led me to see that he had logged "found" twice on one cache, and his stats showed two found. I think he fixed it later
  17. I don't think there's anything wrong eith re-visiting a cache as many times as you like for any reason you want, as long as you're not logging multiple finds. I've been to some caches many times.
  18. When I first came upon the idea of a cemetary cache I thought "not there, it's not a playground" but then after reflecting on that thought, I camr to the conclusion, why not put a playground in a cemetary? For the spirits of those burried there, wouldn't it be nice to look down and see life going on? When my mom came to town for a visit, one thing she wanted to do was visit her mothers grave, and that of a woman she used to care for. They're both in the same cemetary, and at the second spot we spent about 1/2 hour tending to the stone as it was more than 3/4 covered in sod. After the visiting was done, we took her to the border of the cemetary and in the wooded area there is a nice cache that was her first day ever geocaching. It added to the day, and helped make if more memorable for all of us. This was the cache
  19. of course geocaching is like any other outdoor activity, and it's the responsibility of the individual to be prepared. The title of this post sounds like you're blaming the sport. There are a lot of people who do other things they're not prepared for, like driving, skating, shooting, etc. You can't in any way blame the activity.
  20. not until you go back and delete that second "FOUND IT" log, just kidding, welcome to the game
  21. I've attached a seperate tag to each of mine, stating that if you don't want to register at travelertags.gom, to contact me through geocaching.com. then i guess I'll log the movement myself
