  1. On these types of caches, you do not have to "open" them in the same fashion that any live box would open, the ones I've seen were attached by magnet, and were not screwed shut. I like that one pictured.
  2. Are you tellin' me that you have to READ all those long winded, never shut up, babble on forever posts that I get to just gloss over, I've often skipped anp post more than two paragraphs, so thank you for puttin' in some time, and all the best wishes with your health. Maybe without the added stress, you can heal up.
  3. I didn't catch that part, but that definitely makes the show geocaching related, and how about that cache of shoes they found?
  4. Secrecy if half the fun! "I know something you don't know"
  5. You still can make them appear when using the "Identify" feature on the GC.com maps, click the option for "view archived"
  6. I've been wondering about the possibility of a section where us users can post coords and descriptions for benchmarks we fimd but are not in the system, and then let other users look them up, but maybe in a seperate spot from the existing BM page Things like county, city, and private BM's
  7. Oh yeah, I keep forgettin' to start a thread about that. If you click in "Identify" they will all show up By the way Groundspeak, The ability to pan the map to search for caches was my sole reason in deciding to pay for membership, so could we get it fixed? Not to say I don't like the other benefits, but my prefered way to pick caches I want to search is by panning around on the map, especially when I'm planning a trip, and It's a real dissappointment to find out that as I was panning around, about half the caches didn't show on the map.
  8. I agree that The Amazing Race is the best show to come out of this TV craze
  9. Can I post a find if i camp in the woods about 1/4 mile away(just me and my BANJO) Ummm.....JUST JOKING
  10. Are you guys complaining that you can't go, or just worried about one little smiley, go find another 1/1 micro that weekend, and you're all set If you really want a smiley for that Event, maybe the host can hide you a micro somewhere else, for non-attendees to find, which will allow you to post a Find.
  11. It's about surviving the GAME By the way, Maybe I'll look for some of your caches when I get to Memphis to see my folks. Ather my TravelBug makes it there, I'll look into planning a trip.
  12. I hate to bring up a minor point, but besides the name, I see nowhere in the cache description that excludes men from attending, so what the heck are all you griping about.
  13. That would ba a cool feature, but I also enjoy scouring the GC.com maps when I go on a trip, and it's probably hard (expensive) to write a program like that. I would like to see one like, "list all caches north and west of point (X) within (Y) miles", for times like when I wanted lo limit my geocaching to the NE quadrant of Albuquerque.
  14. I like that, maybe i'll make a list, how would you make it available far all to see or do you have to share it one user at a time I guess a link in my profile would do it, but i have no room for more links
  15. I could've REALLY used this YESTERDAY, when I was picking caches for an upcoming trip.
  16. Is there a difference between the two? I'll go back and edit it to Pleasanton, thanks
  17. Here's a snipet from a log my brother wrote. with no flashlight and no clue where he was
  18. Ummm... they only registered two weeks ago and probably don't cruise the forums, and I just don't think that as new users to the site they would appreciate very much the comments in this thread, which although have not been directly attached to her photo are attached by association. By the way, this entire thread is rather disrespectful.
  19. My Event in Pleasanton is approved click here to see it
  20. Not very nice to take a brand new cachers recent photos and plaster them in a thread like this, lets have a little RESPECT, how would you like it if someone was posting pics of YOUR woman in this thread, in fact, maybe we could just shut this one down, as it's pretty far off topic
  21. For new people, that's "Should Be Archived" as opposed to "found", "did not find", "write note", ETC
  22. How to behave when faced with a Geomuggle, 1. Stand as tall as you can 2. Try to appear as large as possible 3. Make lots of noise to scare them away 4. DO NOT turn your back or take your eyes away 5. DO NOT run, they will view you as prey 6. If they approach you, swing sticks and throw rocks Any other suggestions?
  23. Saw a side discussion about this and the idea popped into my head, Could a cache page show or a cache owner be notified about how many users (but not which ones) are ignoring a cache. The idea being that for instance I discover X number of users are ignoring a cache of mine, I would know to maybe change or archive it, or in another example I'm choosing caches to search on a road trip, I might be able to tell some to bypass.
  24. Could it be possible that non registered users are plundering caches
  25. I guess my idea of carving the coordinates into a freshly laid sidewalk is out the window. It's a good thing I wasn't really gonna do it
