  1. The D ring popped off when I opened the battery case.
  2. Mine broke too. They sent a new one free.
  3. Mine keep freezing yesterday too. My grandson was finding all of the caches with his Venture while I tried to get my 30 to work. Geez Garmin we are not beta testers.
  4. No magneta line on my 550 or on my Dakota 20 with the new update. I hope they fix this soon
  5. I have the 400T and the 550T. I say "BUY NOW!" they are awesome units! The new dashboards are great too.
  6. I found the answer. Here it is. http://gpstrends.com/2009/01/garmin-nuvi-500-550/]Nuvi 550 review[/url]
  7. I have checked the Garmin site for differences but the NUVI 550 and the NUVI 500 seem identical. What are the differences in these units? These seem to be the do it all GPSr I have been looking for. What are your thoughts?
  8. I thought someone might be looking for a Oregon 400T. It is a great price I think. Oregon 400T sale
  9. I got one a few days ago and did a 13 mile cache route using it. The 3 axis compass is awesome but to tell the truth my 550T locks on faster and holds the lock better. The Dakota does not lose its compass bearing like my son's 400T does at times. I am very happy with my Dakota 20. I say buy now.
  10. I use Firefox. The Garmin Tech said to send it back and they will fix it.
  11. I updated my Legend HCX software to 3.10 then I tried to update the GPS software chipset. The webupdater erased the old chipset software then after loading 13% said it could not communicate with the device. The unit cannot see the satellites now. How do I fix this? Thanks much.
  12. Thats correct. I auto route to the cache then go to geocache mode. I do not disable City Nav. The 400T is a nice unit. Mine just has a few issues.
  13. Select a waypoint to navigate to. It will reappear.
  14. I took my 550T out for a day of caching. I constantly switched between autoroute and geocache mode driving around the city. It performed PERFECTLY! No compass freakouts, shut offs or other weird behaviors. Accuracy finding the 15 caches was great! This unit ROCKS! I think I will turn my 400T into a paper weight now.
  15. I have been using my 550T for over two weeks with no problems. It is much better than my 400T. The compass on the 400 freaks out all the time, the 550 compass seems very stable. The 550 may replace my 60 CSX as my goto GPS.
  16. My Oregon did the same thing today. How do the Garmin software guys miss such an obvious problem? Surely they must check the software before they release it.
  17. I got brain dead there for a few. I got my 400t and my 550T mixed up. I am running 2.10 with 3.40 software on the 550. Thanks for lining me out.
  18. I just plug in the USB and hit receive from device in Mapsource.
  19. I have been using my 550T for about a week for auto routing and caching. So far it ROCKS except for one thing. I cannot transfer my waypoints from the 550 to my PC using Mapsource. It tranfers tracks fine but not waypoints. It did this with the original software and the new 3.12 beta. HELP!
  20. I got tired of waiting. I cancelled and ordered the 550T.
  21. Now you are scaring me. I have high hopes for that compass.
