  1. I've noticed that after starting geocaching, I've gotten a lot better at finding dropped things. like keys in grass or backs of earrings in the carpet. I can easily see how it would help with things like this too. Cool story
  2. Keg cache idea... cool... Finding a place to hide it where it isn't just junking up a nice location... not so cool
  3. I dont think so... but i'll check, just in case
  4. So my profile says that I have 766 Finds on 765 unique Geocaches... I don't think I've ever found the same cache twice and I cant seam to find what cache it is that it thinks I've logged twice. any ideas on how to figure out which one it is so that I can delete it and make my numbers match up???
  5. This is the trail between my town and the one just across the border in Washington (Moscow ID and Pullman WA)Its new... I plan on walking the trail (not a road) sometime this week It has 50 something caches on the trail. Link
  6. Hello, and Welcome! I am also on the other side of the world but I have used my Garmin Oregon in Europe with no problem and I tend to recommend it to everyone As far a caching backpack goes, it depends on the caches you do, you would need more for a long hike vs a park and grab. I tend to use a camelback with some room for the basic hiking gear. There are threads about both these topics in the forums though so I'm sure if you just look around all your questions will be answered Have fun cacheing! Hurshh
  7. perfect, so just make your own cache in the same spot or somewhere new have fun!
  8. I say that because this same thing happened in my town, I just let them closed and then re opened them after giving the old cache owner an email letting them know. They were happy that I was going to take over the location and I've gotten some good responses from the area cachers
  9. just let them be closed then open new ones up yourself in the same location you can even use the same container if you want, If its still there
  10. you go to the cache page and in the upper right corner it says "log Visit" click on it and there you go ;p
  11. shrinky dinks work great! they show that you spent some time making them, and you can design them however you want! I think a shrinky dink sig item would be cool. Maybe even buy a TB tag and use the code on all your shrinky dink designs for people to log when they find one Just an idea
  12. It's just gonna be me and 6,000 to 10,000 of my closest friends. And perhaps one or two forum rivals? And THIS GUY! (note: I may or may not show up to Geowoodstock) (note: I am currently planning on it)
  13. wow, i just read through that whole thing, Its great!
  14. I used to live up in Alaska, and one day I was out working under the back side of the house. I was so content with my work that I didn't notice the Mommy Moose walk up to me all pissed off because her baby was nearby while I was making all kinds of noise. Needless to say as soon as I noticed a pissed off moose coming to get me (about 3 feet away) I RAN inside the house!!! (to grab the camera of course ;p )
  15. They had better not "grab" my '07 Mustang TB
  16. I found a puzzle where the coords after solving the puzzle were wrong. I knew they were wrong and went to find the cache where i thought it should be. I was right and found it without the puzzle, then emailed the CO to tell them the puzzle was wrong. They fixed it and thanked me. No wonder I got FTF on that one everyone else was looking on the wrong side of town :s
  17. hmm... not sure whats up with yours... but my Garmin Oregon 300 stays with me step by step. I've never had to wait for it to catch up to me :s
  18. If you cant find it at all... try looking it up online... its not that hard to find fake codes that work
  19. We have two caches called "cache the vision" the two of them are less then 2 miles apart :s they are by 2 different COs and not part of a series... had me confused there for a while (thought I already had it but still wasn't a smiley) so then I went and found the second one and it all became clear
  20. My dog the Geocacher Her name is Geo (that was her name when I found her... Fate huh?) Me holding Geo I adopted her from a Humane society.
  21. Hi Scrapes! My name is Hurshh... and I too am a Geocacher... The thing I hate the most is DNFs... I too assume they've been muggled. I also hate that when I email the cache owner they don't ever respond. Even though they have several DNFs in a row. I have "thats a good cache spot" syndrome... I never leave home without my GPS. even when not caching (just in case) I love all hides... nano, ammo, LPCs, and long hikes. My dog's name is Geo... My name is Hunter (hurshh), and I am a geocacher. You are not alone.
  22. I am 21 so is my GF both of us cache. I have a group of 6-8 friends (all between 21 and 25) that cache too. I tend to go to the events, but everyone else in my caching group does not. I think that the events tend to draw the older crowed which makes it seam like there are not as many younger cachers as there really are.
  23. from the geocaching website click on your name in the top right corner... scroll down about half way and under premium member options you will see the option to "build pocket querys" click on it and it will tell you where to go from there
