Are there topo maps available that cover the Dominican Republic and or Haiti? I'm going to be working/flying those areas for two weeks this coming summer and would like to have my Oregon 400c with the proper maps.
Thanks,
Chip

How do you backup the factory maps on the 400c or 400t? And how would you restore those maps if you somehow corrupted/deleted them?

I recently picked up an Oregon 400C, does it show tide times at all? Or is there any way to get it to show them for the area that it's in?
Thanks,
Chip
WhereTo?>Tides should list the closest tide stations. Select the station you want and it should display the tide times.

Great thanks..... Is there a better manual than the one that came with the unit available that will actually explain all the features of this unit?

My thought when I first read the OP was "What's to update since last year? Did a mountain move?"
Sorry, couldn't resist.
Mountains haven't moved but alot of land has since been changed and developed with roads being placed also.

I'm looking to pick up a Vista HCX soon. Where is the best place to buy for the best price?

I know there's a new City Navigator 2009 coming out soon. How about the Topo map, is there a new version of that coming out anytime soon or should I just pick up the current Topo map.

Ok thanks everyone. I'm going to go with the Hcx. It will double duty on land for hunting and possibly over seas if my unit gets deployed to the desert. I know it doesn't float but I'll attach a float to it just in case it does slip out of the yak and most of it's time will be spent in a clear waterproof bag so hopefully I won't have to test out how waterproof it is.
Thanks again,

I'm looking for a gps to use for some saltwater kayak fishing in New England. I've been looking at the Vista Hcx and the Colorado 400c. Is the Colorado worth the extra money over the Vista Hcx with a bluechart dvd? With either of these units can you load several other maps to one 2 gig sd card? I'd like to be able to use the US topo maps and saltwater blue charts and perhaps the city navigator all on one gps unit. Is this possible? Will I need more than one sd card?
Thanks,
Chip
