  1. We combine ours with our sig item. Every 100 caches we make up 4 new cards that represents one of the caches we had recently enjoyed. Some of the locals try and collect what they have started calling a 4ager full house. One for each member of the family.

OIFGA Geocoin Page I put this together quickly and haven't even really spell checked it yet. You get the general idea for now NOTE: The paypal account being created by Cav Scout still isn't ready, so the button is not yet working.

Both my wife and I are desert storm vets... put us down! It would be cool if we could get concurent numbers
  10. The Caching Karma Stick continues to travel. I suppose legaly it is our stick, but it has become more the property of the geocaching community now
  11. Let me put in my opinion as well. This so rocked! We are already looking forward to FraggleStock next year.
  12. Hey folks... my brother and I are coming down to hit the Journal this weekend. I sure hope we find it. Any suggested caches in the area? Any geocacher hangouts for Saturday or Sunday night?
  13. OK, I've purposely stepped back from this a few days to think about it. I like it and am excited to see what this turns into. I see it being both useful and fun. Useful? So I head out to the city of Cleveland and and can download a list of waypoints that point out where all the artistic guitars are placed around the city. Import them into my GPS and I'm rocking. Or... since I have also downloaded all the free wireless hotspots I can find a spot and surf my heart out. I doubt I would log a find on a particular item in this case. Fun? I've also downloaded all the beautiful views and interesting spots located in my nearest national forest. I can hike my little heart out, see some awesome spots and really enjoy my day. These I see me logging as I would a cache. I've always said that I wasn't in this for the numbers... and I'm not. I do have to admit that I would like to get those Fun Finds credited to my geocaching stats.
  14. I wouldn't say this is an arguement. I just want to really understand what is going on. I'm sure many others have the same questions but aren't as willing to look silly like I am I personally wouldn't say the merit of a cache is if there is a box at the end or not. I do think virtuals are geocaches. I really am very stoked about waymarks.com, I think I'm almost excited about it's possibilities as I was about geocaching.com. Now I understand they are two seperate ventures from Groundspeak.
  15. OK, so since the two websites are seperate entities virtuals will remain on geocaching.com?
  16. Well, I'm going to have to figure out the next destination soon. Hmmmmm, where should it go next?
  17. That is fair... so the intent is to have waypoint yellow pages. Very cool, but can you please explain how this relates to geocaching the game?
  18. OK, so I’ve been on the phone with some other cacher’s tonight and the general consensus is… “We don’t get it”. However… I really like the idea of having a “Yellow Pages” of waypoints. I think this can be incredibly useful for the entire world. The possibilities are endless especially if you make an easy way to import these into the GPS. If I go to Alabama and am interested in where all >blank< is I can put those waypoints into my GPS. (Some of the greatest ideas have been the wrong solution to a different problem.) On the other hand… I really don’t see how this fits in with geocaching.com. I would hate to have all the virtuals only become available as waymarks. Unique and interesting places should be able to be logged as finds. I think this can be done with a tighter integration with the logs. For instance. All virtuals are automatically waymarks. If I log a virtual it will appear on the waymark’s logs as well and I get my find. Either way, I think it is worth while to explain your vision and ideas for waymarks very clearly to the geocaching community. If I posted this to the wrong forum, please move accordingly.
  19. Don't know if the word got out, but they have some pretty cool shirts available!!! http://www.geochums.com/forums/index.php?s...84&st=0&p=9066&
  20. I think this would be an important option. I can see many uses for this such as a war memorial being educational, a monument and a fountain. Which category does it belong?
  21. OK then, I suggest then we go with seperate categories like NFL, NBA, MLB and the like. I would be the happy owner of NFL but probably should have major sports fans of the other's be owners of those categories. I can see it already... the folks wanting to have all the statdiums or baseball fields checked off. I think these categories will be very popular.
