Hello, Hope someone can help me. I have read the book 5x and checked everything I can. On my SporTrak Map I have the units set for metric (I live in Canda) and the unit diplays things in Km until I get within 100 m of the waypoint. Is there anyway I can get it to display 450m instead of .45 Km?? Secondly for Mapsend S & D, is there anyway to send a single waypoint to the unit... If I select Upload waypoints it replaces all the WP in the unit with those on my map? Last night I just wanted to upload a WP for an address I had searched using the software and I couldn't unless I wanted all the WP stored in the units memory gone. Any ideas?? Thanks, Scott

Sent you some mail. Let me know. Scott

Can you give us an idea on how the meeting went? Where they generally favorable to allowing caches again once guidelines are established? What are their issues with caching etc. etc. Thanks, Scott

What do you do with people who steal our bugs!
McKenzie Clan replied to Avenger's Realm's topic in Trackables
If I were conspiracy minded I would say its because then you wouldn't have to buy another bug to replace that one that went missing. Wait a second... maybe gc.com has a bug extermination squad out there killing these bugs so you are forced to buy more.... Hmmmm -

Opinions wanted... Is a reserved FTF cheesy or not?
McKenzie Clan replied to Mark 42's topic in General geocaching topics
I have only been doing this a little while but I think its strange... Now that the reserved FTF has tried but couldn't find it it should be fair game. But than again its the owner's cache so whatever.... Scott -
Welcome! Can't comment on the Gecko either but agree on the data cable comment! I live in Ottawa (well a little south actually) as well, and it is a great spot for caching. Word warning there is a cacher called binthair who creates some awesome puzzle caches that will keep you up at night trying to figure them out! Welcome and Good Luck! Scott

Nice pics indeed! Last night (30th) was when I noticed them the most. Spotted them driving home, once I got out of the city. Dragged Nadine and the kids outside to see them too. Nicholas (4) thought they were "wicked!" Scott

Don't worry about it... I am sure the same thing has been asked a dozen times before. What's your next question? Scott

You're not doing anything wrong. The reason you don't see "EDIT" on other's logs is because only you can edit your logs. Scott

I have the same model - and it works great for me. I havn't used it in about 2 weeks though (work bah!) so have avoided the whole sun spots thing. I found mine to aquire faster than the Garmin I was using... Have you tried to Reinitialize it? If yes, maybe you have a defective unit, contact Magellan about it, or return it if within that period. Thanks for making my life harder Jeremy!!

The other day I noticed my son Nicholas (4) loading up an empty mini-pringles can full of little trinkets. Asked him what he is doing... "Making a cache Dad!" Turns out he has "hidden" 4 of them in his room! LOL -
And proud of it!!

Too bad the area is in the middle of nowhere... Scott

Navman, Sportrak Map, iFinder
McKenzie Clan replied to rockclimber_tx's topic in GPS technology and devices
I just bought a SporTrak Map. I totally love it, especially with the mapping software (Streets and Destiantions) that I got too. Previous to that I was using a borrowed Garmin Legend, no mapping. The only this I don't like about the Magellan is the screen resolution isn't as fine for menus and stuff. It is better on map details but for menus and such could be better. In all I am pleased with it. Scott -
I just got the SporTrak Map, with the Streets and Destinations software. You can add POI, and routs etc. and then upload them to your GPSr Still figuring it out though. Scott

I say try to contact the owner first, if no reply then refurbish it. I know I would be a little annoyed if someone took it on themselves to that to a cache I have placed. Too possesive?? Scott

The look in one of my child's eyes when they are the first one (even though you usually spot them about 10 min. before) to spot that cache, so far out weighs any challenge physical or mental I might have endured to find one myself. Its one of the reasons I am loving this sport so much. Scott

THE GEOCACHE EXCHANGE: International Trading

Other than saying the idea was a great one I added shipping an "ammo box" through customs might not be the best choice. Scott [This message was edited by McKenzie Clan on October 24, 2003 at 10:46 AM.]
