  1. As others have said, wear long pants and carry a stick. Further, be alert and keep your eyes on the trail, not your GPSr. I was returning from a cache in Raleigh and was fiddling with the GPSr while walking and almost stepped on a large black snake. (Non-threatening, beneficial snake, but still would dislike being trod upon.) So simply be aware and poke around the underbrush before stepping or reaching and you'll be ok. --Squishy
  2. Missing Travel Bug On May 23, the travel bug "Curious George for Ogden" was taken from the "Double Bubble" cache in Raleigh. An entry in the log book stated the travel bug was being removed and was signed "Austin and Dad". The bug has never reappeared anywhere else nor was it logged as having been taken. Around the same time, another travel bug was discovered in that cache that had not been logged. It looks like "Austin and Dad" may be moving travel bugs but don't know about logging them. If anyone has any info on "Austin and Dad", I'd love to find out what's going on. Thanks, Squishy Pittsboro, NC
  3. I brought a TB over from England to the US. Placed it a day later. The next day it was retrieved by some folks upon finding their first cache. These people have now held the TB for two months and have logged many more finds. It probably isn't my place since I'm not the TB owner, but two emails to them have gone unheeded. Advice?
  4. quote:Originally posted by mrcpu: The newest version (http://www.easygps.com) supports the new GPX format. [...] Cheers, Rob Mobile Cache Command http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/4525_1300.gif thanks rob. i thought i had the latest program. unfortunately the easygps web site is confusing and makes it easy to download v1.1.1 instead of v1.1.7. i now have the new one and see that it reads the gpx format. now i need to throw away the converter i wrote this morning. --squishy
  5. Hello: Is there anyway to specify the waypoint symbol in the EasyGPS xml format (the one downloaded from geocaching.com)? I am not asking how to make geocaching.com specify a symbol, but if it is possible to add a tag in the .loc format to have EasyGPS recognize a non-default symbol. Thanks for any info you can provide. --Squishy
