  1. VOTE: Deserved Congratulations to LBProcker!? LBProcker: 321 Finds in 1 DAY! Amazingly he found 2 of my caches that were archived 3 years ago - Wow! He even remembered the dates he found them coincidentally just days before they were archived. I take my hat off to you LBProcker!? for your incredible finds! I see allot of your finds are archived, disabled for maintenance, and a few challenging puzzle caches! 9 Earth caches and 5 multi-caches. I applaud you for your stamina, endurance, memory. You are a stand alone leader among us. LBProcker I chose to congratulate you! MaitreMind
  2. It is a big area, LOL, I'd say from Route 80 south and From Philadelpha and North. We have done Frenchtown down to just north of Stockton. We're kind of looking for trails, paths playground for kids from 9-13 we have three. I grew up in Bensalem, PA and my wife is from Watchung, NJ so were are familiar with quite a wide area, but we're looking see what everyone else enjoyed that might spark some of our memories of areas long ago visited (before geocaching existed). The ideas suggested are great thanks. Thanks, MaitreMind
  3. I am looking for Eastern PA, Central or North NJ bike trails that kids can endure with plenty of caches, what do you recommend? Thanks MaitreMind
  4. My son and I have done that with a golf ball. We took a dremel and drilled out a hole, screwed a tiny screw into the hole and slipped in a nano painted white so the magnet would stick to the screw. The top of the nano completed the curve of the ball. Then we dropped it on the ground across the street from a gold course like it was a lost stray ball. 5. Ditto, I have not been able to get my finds all afternoon EST. There's been no post as to why, is anyone aware that there's a problem? MaitreMind www.TRUSTMobility.com
  6. Congrats Andy on the big 1000!! MaitreMind
  7. WHAT?? You have to be kidding! What fun is there in that? I climb "Secret Spot" knees shaking with mental coaching secretly going on in my head. How do I email the experience. Yesterday I saw a HUGE Horn Owl flying near GZ at a cache, I'm beside myself in excitement see an Owl in the wild - geocaching at it FINEST! How do I email the experience? I find each stage in "Who's Watching You!!!!" with all the waves of emotions experienced? How do I email the experience? I go cache fishing at "Downtown/Main Street USA: Scotch Plains, NJ" with fishing gear from a 24/7 tackle shop? How do I email the experience? I sort through "Decoys Are For The Birds" looking for the real cache. How do I email the experience? I find a surprise at "Rook in the Reeds". How do I email the experience? I explore a real BAT cave with my wife and kids at "A Mine is a Terrible Thing" How do I email the PRICELESS experience? I can't and I wouldn't - PERIOD! These are treasures that I personally experienced. A virtual smiley is not even close to experiencing the real deal! MaitreMind
  8. Hey slukster, I love urban caches, but caches I'm not particularly fond of are ones close to houses and playground caches as I don't need a paranoid person calling the police. In my opinion caching in an urban area where strangers commonly walk about is difficult to compare to a remote area where a stranger would trigger a 911 call. Personally I wouldn't like seeing someone meandering near my home where my kids play, even where a park bordered my home since the activity areas are more centrally focused in a park. Another thought, imagine your cache was selected as 1 of 5 caches by the media to represent GC'ing in the area, how would it reflect on our sport? If the neighbors were interviewed how would their comments reflect on our sport? Those were just some thoughts. I haven't been in the area for a few months to do this cache, but I really enjoyed your other caches and haven't done any of your's I haven't thoroughly enjoyed! Keep up the great work! MaitreMind
  9. Thanks Steve and congrats on your 800. Hmmm, 1000 isn't far away I need to start looking for that extraordinary memorable cache to do for the milestone, suggestions are welcome from anyone. Thanks, Richard (aka MaitreMind)
  10. CondorTrax - Very well put, I agree and support your view. Kevtel, We've meet and I personally enjoy your hides, some more than others yet all-in-all I feel the same about other cachers caches too. I know others feel the same about my hides too. I have some that are probably shear frustration and if you searched GZ near a few of them you'd find enough DNA from cachers pulling out their hair - of course this is by design. Then there are others who don't have enough DNA to leave at GZ because we've ripped our hair out at home solving puzzles to find tupperware in the woods. We're a crazy lot arent we! In the past I was a bit too hard on some comments to a fellow cacher in logs regarding their coords and I had my logs deleted by the CO. Rather than take offense I contacted the CO and we emailed back and forth and it became evident they didn't know how to average their coords and I walked them through the process. I also apologized for my logs and re-logged them in a positive tone. Since then this cachers hides are spot on and we both learned from the experience. They too are an active cacher close to home and I thoroughly enjoy their creativity. Like CondorTrax stated I also ask "that you re-evaluate your decision and think of the positive aspects of your caches and the enjoyment they have brought rather than focusing on recent logs." Use the experience to grow, there is no grace in continuing to lie down after tripping up. Happy caching and I hope to see your caches I haven't found yet re-enabled. MaitreMind
  11. Congrates too, to all recent milestone achievers! MaitreMind
  12. A simple solution is hide a cache yourself in those areas and more will come! MaitreMind
  13. Congratulations YankeePride and Nanette on 500 finds!! MaitreMind
  14. There are quite a few kayak caches on the Delaware near Phillipsburg, NJ / Easton, PA rt78 is the best way to get there. BTW: I don't have a kayak but was wondering if the online coupon is shareable? Thanks, MaitreMind
  15. Congrats to IMSpider on find #4600 MaitreMind
  16. Congratulations to YankeePride and Nanette on hitting 400! MaitreMind
  17. Here is a cache with a 5/5 rating that is 25 miles from your profile location (Astoria, New York) Called: "Tickle The Sky" by TheSurfcaster http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...43-09340fe3104e MaitreMind
  18. The other problem with PDF's is that when you want the 10 log PDF it puts all the logs on the first page. Nothing flows to the second page including the cache description, it just appears cut-off at the bottom of page 1. MaitreMind
  19. I looked at your cache listing and you have 14 waypoints. Very serious cachers will spend the time to do this interesting cache, IMHO tourists or otherwise would probably skip this one. Have you thought about splitting it up, allowing more smileys might attract more cachers. You wouldn't need 14 caches maybe 4 or 6 total. This is just an idea to re-invigorate activity, otherwise activity may remain slow or non-existant until another serious cacher visits or moves here. If I were a tourist here I'd be hard pressed to spend so much time on a single cache when I have other specific plans. Personally I'll only do caches while away where I can pick up a number of smileys in an hour or two. Does anyone else feel the same or disagree? MaitreMind MaitreMind Consulting Group, Inc. 20. FULLY AGREE!! http://wap.geocaching.com That's the mobile version of the site, though it too has improvements that could be made. Thanks for the WAP - "Text Only Site" link. For some the layout might be OK, alittle graphics and formatting would be nice. Why not http://wap.geocaching.com for "Text Only" and http://mobile.geocaching.com for those with highspeed mobile capable of better formatting and graphics. MaitreMind
  21. Nice New Look and Very Responsive! Nice Job! Here is a list of things I noticed in IE (v6 & v7) that don't appear to work the same. 1. When I have a Google map showing the geocaches and I click on a cache image the resulting bubble cache info window that appears scrolls the map in a direction that makes the bubble cache info window to go out of view where I have to grab the map and drag it so the cache info is visible. 2. When the browser is not full screen area, the center section of the page will appear 'under' the right menu section. 3. The prior version of the site was MUCH better on my mobile phone (IE browser on Windows Mobile 6.1). I don't want to say the current site is horrible on my mobile phone but it certainly appears mobile devices were apparently not considered or tested during development prior to promotion to your production servers. 4. This doesn't work in either version of the site. For pocket query routes there is a check box to specify "Any Cache Type" when unchecked the Cache Types are still disabled not allowing me to select only the cache types I want to display along a route. Ideas: 1. On personal cache hides, the ability to see the userids of those who are watching the cache. 2. A mobile friendly version of the site would be helpful (i.e. mobile.geocaching.com) Richard (aka MaitreMind) Sr. Software Architect (Consultant)
