  4. I am one of a handful of cachers in my area that thrive on being FTF.. just last night 7 new caches posted... i went out and found 3 but had to return to home base for more info. then returned for a 2nd attempt and found a family of cachers was right behind me, or infront of me on a few... we had fun tring to figure out what the other was going to go for... it made for an interesting night since i had locked myself out of my RUNNING car down in a wash with no one to be found.. i knew they would be here sooner or later since i was FTF... so a little compitition can be a good thing.
  5. where are these nice people? i have NEVER had anyone replace a wet log... all i get is "THE LOG IS WET" "THE LOG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED" "LOG IS TOO WET TO SIGN" i carry extra logs in baggies all ready to go incase i come across a WET LOG... and in some desert / remote caches where the entire cache has been destroyed, i have replaced the container and put the remaining contence back inside, and in my log informed the cache owner what i had done... i would hope that they would do the same for me... even tho they dont, i still do.
  6. whooohoooo mine is working but with yellow push pins not the reg icons, but who cares ... its working
  7. lets see.... goecaching keeps me from: cleaning the pool, filters, patio, kitchen, livingroom, bathroom, front yard, back yard, the car, the jeep, the trailer, the boat, the floors, the BBQ grill, the laundry, my bedroom, the dog, the cat, .... the only thing GEOCACHING DOES'T keep me from doing is....... organizing my geocaching stuff!
  8. does anyone know if google earth or Groundspeak is even aware of the problem, and who IS the problem? or if we can report the problem? OUTSIDE OF THE FORUMS

  10. I think they are just curious to see why it is an "IMPOSSIBLE CACHE" but you are right, it is only 30 $ if they just skipped starbucks for 6 days they can afford to purchase a membership.
  11. i am looking for any one who will donate a dead unit for a project... i have a GPS GEOCOIN, and instead of sending out my coin, i am going to attach the number of the coin VIA a dog tag i get from wal mart to a dead unit and send it out as a TRAVEL BUG. i thought of sending out my old old GPS and have people mark a waypoint, but i am afraid it might get lost.... i will pay shipping.. i have a pay pal account and can send money for shipping... i have done this project with many other coins.... instead of hording them to my self... check out my profile and the list of coins i have turned into TRAVEL BUGS.. i only need ONE .... thanks vickie
  12. I havent been caching for very long , but in my experience you will also need chapstick, a pair of gators (if you cache in the mountains they go around the bottom of your pantleg and shoe to keep stickers and foxtails out of your socks), instead of a note book and pen, i carry a small voice recorder, much more efficient, and a vehicle place card for your car, again if you cache in the mountains... you can download and print it for free here.. http://geocacher-u.com/content/blogcategory/69/90/
