  1. Has anyone else encountered a problem with printing out cache pages and having the printer leave off everything above the "short description" This has happened to me randomly - sometimes the info is left off, sometimes it prints fine. It used to occur only on my work computer, but I just bought a new laptop and it's happening there too. Really frustrating since the portion left off is the most important info - size, difficulty/terrain, COORDINATES!! Kind of hard to find a cache with those left off! So, I'm no whiz but I can usually follow instructions pretty well. Has anyone else figured out why this occurs and how to get around it. Thanks herpnerd
  2. Back in August I set up a cache in a remote area in the Chesapeake Bay. I was volunteering on a research project and we headed to a pelican rookery, literally thousands of pelican nests all on one tiny island. I thought it through and figured that being in a really remote spot it would only need maintenance once a year or so, which is exactly how often the research takes place and as often as I'd go back to the island. However, the reviewers didn't agree. They won't publish the cache because I won't be able to get there in a "reasonable amount of time." The cache is at N 37° 55.569 W 076° 01.800. Anyone who owns a boat and would be interested in adopting this cache, please let me know. You'd probably never even need to go out there but I need an adoption. Ask your friends if you know someone who has a boat. I posted a similar message earlier but got no response. This is a really cool area to share with the geocaching community and I'd hate to have it go unpublished. The cache is GC1F6Q0 but I doubt that will help because I don't think anyone but I can view the listing. Thanks The Herpnerd
  3. A week ago I set up a cache in a great spot - this remote island just south of Kent Island in the bay. There's a Pelican rookery there and it's just a fabulous place. Bad news is, when I put it up for review it was denied because I would be able to get there at the most once a year - see, I'm too far away and I don't own a boat. I was volunteering on a research project the day I did make it out there. So, is anyone willing to help give life to a wonderful cache? It may never need to even be visited. Let me know. The cache is at N 37° 55.569 W 076° 01.800 in case you'd like to do some research.
  4. I had my first two finds yesterday and I'm getting ready to start looking for more. My question is, how do I search for caches based on a particular location... for example if I knew I wanted to search my county park, is there a way to find all things hidden in Mercer County Park? Or do I just have to do a search for a town or zip code and systematically figure out which are in my desired location? Any advice on searching for cache information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Herpnerd
