  1. This size packet is less expensive.... http://www.basegear.com/3mscotchbagtag.html
  2. I'm just trying out my new avatar.
  3. Back to the medical info wallet card, 3M makes a self-laminating tag that works great for these cards. It's called "self-sealing laminating pouches for bag tags." I just got some at my neighborhood drug store in the office supply section. You simply peel back the top layer, remove the paper insert, add your own item to be laminated, and then let the top layer go back in place. Lightly press with your hand.... Then you're done. There is even a loop you can use to attach your card to your belt, backpack, whatever. I've even used these pouches to attach to travel bugs if the tbs have special goals or missions.
  4. These would be permanent pieces of art, not plays in the park, concerts, etc. I'm thinking primarily of statues, but the category include mosaics and murals.
  5. I wonder if someone could figure out a way to count this as a cache- maybe some sort of weird virtual.
  6. My favorite history cache is Omo i de GC6CCE by Team Moehke in Vacaville, CA. It made history "real" for me. One nice thing about the history caches is that it is easier to convince a non-cacher to go caching with you if there is something interesting for them to see. I also really like art-based caches for the same reason.
  7. This is kind of a tricky topic. My best has been 25 in a day, but it was in an area with many geocaches. In some areas, the caches are pretty sparse. I guess someone with too much time on their hands could devise some sort of equation that balances out terrain/difficulty/cache density. For example it could be more significant if someone does 3 caches in one day with a 3 difficulty/3 terrain than someone who does 10 1/1 in a day. But then again, it's not about the numbers. Or is it?
  8. Hynr and I were in Phoenix last weekend. I agree with Mine's Bigger Than Most. I also liked "A" Mountain Cache", (well, technically that's in Tempe). It's a little hike, but worth it. If you want to rack up a few quick numbers, there's a bunch of virtuals near the capitol. USS Arizona Anchor is one of them. A nice little walking tour.
  9. I had some pencils made that say "Happy Geocaching fromTeachermom." It just seemed like a teacher would give pencils. Of course, they don't fit in micro caches very well.
  10. We have both a Legend and an "ol' yeller." I still primarily use the yellow etrex. Occasionally Target will have them for $79. I love my simple etrex.
  11. I have been reading with interest the discussion regarding virtuals. I, too, just recently had a virtual denied. I personally love geocaching because I see new places and new things. Virtuals are my favorite kind of cache. I also believe that virtuals should be allowed because they can accomodate individuals with a variety of ability levels. I occasionally work with students who have severe physical disabilities. A current student that I teach is definitely wheelchair bound. Finding a micro or any physical cache is beyond her abilities. However she CAN hold a gpsr on her tray and write/record the answers to verify a virtual find. Allowing virtuals gives her the opportunity to participate in geocaching.
