  1. From another of "the 200" and as many of the others have said; THANK YOU!! I had resolved myself to using the Geocaching Google Maps, which I was fine with, but I do perfer the Google Earth KML. Thanks again for all of your hard work.
  2. Duncan! Passed 8000! in the UK today. Or was it yesterday. Maybe tomorrow. What time is it there????
  3. Well, since the newest SD geodog is saying hello I thought I had better say goodbye. Thats right, my family and I are leaving San Diego, we are moving to Oklahoma City. Some of you (especially those in the south bay) may have noticed I have not been caching much the last month or so. Partly due to a new baby, somewhat due to finals at school, but mostly because of preparing for this move which is happening in 2 weeks. So I just want to say thanks for all the fun caches, awesome adventures and great friends! San Diego Cachers Are The Best!
  4. Congratulations CONGRATZ! I will be joining you shortly, my new baby boy is due is 2 weeks! I'm scared Sarge! I guess I should put a pic here also Wyatt. 9lbs 6oz, 22.5 inches long! Born 3/30/08 @ 1514hrs. He is a big boy!
  5. San Diegos newest cacher Wyatt, 9lb 6oz 22.5in long!
  6. Looks like it took untill today to Git er done. Way to go buddy!
  7. It was going really slow last night also. Took me about 10 minutes to log 1 cache.
  8. Not just those..he removed or disabled ALL his caches in the South Bay! What's up with that? Didn't you guys make him feel welcome down there? Bummer... There's a note on one or more of his disabled caches. Don't know the details. I sent him an e-mail asking hin to reconsider when I saw they were disabled but now most of them have been archived. ?????????
  9. Who dat? What I want to Know is : Why were you guys at Lowes?? You can not say hello to Sled Head there!!
  10. I was looking at S2 and el Centro as alternate routes. Last year I took the 8 to the 79 north to Julian then East on the 78 to Split Mtn. Road. If the roads around Julian are closed, S2 and El Centro are options from the 8 and they seem to be equal distances. I could fuel in El Centro or the Blu Inn on the 78 if I went that way. Your route through Ramona, 79, Montezuma Rd and Borrego would come into play if there were a problem on the 8. I dont care how I get there I just wanna get there! I am still accepting applications for passengers (up to 3) and convoy participants.
  11. Where is Westmoreland? The Routes I built on Google Earth only put it 4 miles more going to El Centro and up to the 78 than taking S2. I have never been on S2, but it looks like sixes to me. Are you better off going up the S-2 to the 78 or to go into El Centro and hit a road going north to the 78? Which way is faster (since neither way is a good direct route). If you go to El Centro and take S30 north you come out at Westmoreland. You are adding about another 60 miles to your trip.
  12. I plan on leaving Friday morning around 8 or 9 and haeding back Sunday by noon or so. Looks like I'll be going 8 to S2 and up unless anything changes. I am driving alone thus far, I have room for 1 or 2 more in my truck (maybe 3) if anyone needs or wants a ride. Anyone want to convoy? I am in Chula Vista.

  15. Thanks everybody, I could not have done it without you guys. And Congrats to J&J, Tombmaker, Chuy And everybody else who puts up those big#'s.
  16. Sometimes I have wished I still had some finds still in the GPS. Like when you are in an area wanting to place a new cache and cant quite remember if there are any previous finds that are too close.
  17. Honk! Dictionary Hill (I think) With Mt. Miguel, Mother Miguel and Sweetwater Reservoir in the background.
  18. Anything going on tomorrow? I have the day off, and it might be my last chance to have the whole day because my summer semester starts Monday!
  19. I want one that will read outside temp. and display it in a graph like the altimiter page on a garmin. And since this is a wish list why not add humidity and the ability to overlay the graphs so you could see the temp decrease compared to elevation gain etc. BTW: The vista C and Legend C were replaced by the Cx models. Why be limited to 24mb when you can have expandable memory for basicly the same price.
  20. Wish I could make it Chuy! looks like some good caching out there but unfortunately I have to work.
  21. It looks like you are correct jonners. I tried fresh batteries and the unit shut down, switched back to the "conditioned" oned and it is fine. Odd thing though, now that I updated the software and now have the Li-Ion option it will not even power up with the lithiums unless lithium is selected. I had to put the near dead alkaline back in, select lithium and then switch the batts to get it to power up.
  22. I have a Li-Ion setting in my 60csx. Perhaps this was added in a firmware update? I have not used Li-Ion batteries in mine, so I can't tell you if you still need to drain the batteries a little. I went to Garmin.com after reading your post and downloaded the Web Updater and quickly updated my unit. It now has the Lithium Ion option. The download was fast and easy. I will see if I still need to drain the Li-Ion batts when I get some new ones.
  23. When the batteries did not work in the gps I put them in my camera and I have taken a half dozen or so pics with it. So I tried them back in the gps and it works great now! Thanks for your help jonners!
  24. Is the battery type on the 60CSx set to Lithium Ion? There in no option for Li-Ion. Only Alkaline and Ni-Mh
