  1. Will the current challenges listed above be allowed to remain in play? Thanks.
  2. I work in health care. I was NEVER required to complete a certain number of a particular procedure before doing it myself.I learned the pathophysiology, the rationale, the process and if I was lucky, I got to practice a time or two. It certainly wasn't mandatory. If a cacher wants to set minimums for him/herself, that's great. Mandatory minimums will not work across the board. No matter how many cook books I receive/buy/read, I still can't cook well! I do think that finding a variety of caches exposes us to what we like, and don't like, to find with regard to cache style, etc. That may be beneficial for some.
  3. MMMMM MemberMember Caches Found2775 Found it Found it 28 Jun 17 Came within 6 feet of it but too many muggles around at the time. HUH?
  4. I noticed this log on a Washington webcam cache. If you are uncomfortable, it's okay to log the find even if you didn't ACTUALLY take a webcam photo screen shot. Attached photo was of something else. YYY Premium Member Caches Found5731 Webcam Photo Taken Webcam Photo Taken 25 Jun 17 Well I am claiming this even though I couldn't locate the building, the cords led my to a grass field and I walked around looking at the buildings for about 20 mins or so at before 7am. Very very uncomfortable. Feel free to delete and also a lot of construction Photo GCXXXX
  5. I was FTF today on a couple of your new hides, thanks! I DNF'd one due to mosquitos, too. Can you organize a CITO (after the summer heat!). Maybe a campout/CITO event? Join us with a local business to sponsor it? Good Mood Food, Blewett Brewing? We camped at Nason Creek which was overrun with mosquitos. I live over the mountains in Mount Vernon, but if it works with my schedule, I'd be there!
  6. "A match tube with its Teflon log ejection tube." I've never seen this before, thanks for sharing a great idea!
  7. I don't think it would be rude; at least I wouldn't be offended. Just a gentle reminder, like for a dental visit or a colonoscopy
  8. Thanks all. I will try all of these tips.
  9. I picked up a TB at a cache here in Washington. When I got back to cell service, I attempted to log it. I discovered that the number doesn't match the description and wasn't dropped/logged IN the cache that I got it from. I'm not sure what to do with it now.
  10. I'm not far from Whidbey Island and we have a local painted rock sensation and a Facebook page, Skagit County Rocks. It's fun to find and rehide them. There are many artists who didn't realize that they had this talent until they started painting rocks.
  11. The Haunted Hides souvenir was awarded for finding any cache or attending any event from October 29-31, 2016, regardless of where you are. And solving the puzzle, right? That's what I'm working on. Still brand new to these puzzles....I find most of them quite challenging!
  12. Thanks for the input. I'm up for the hike, for sure. It's been found previously by adults, kids, newbies and veteran cachers, etc. Last find 2010. The 2015 DNF posted a note recently that he contacted the CO in an attempt to adopt the cache, with no reply. Next time that I'm in the area, I'll give it a shot, weather permitting....then I'll take it off the list. Again, thanks. As a newbie, I appreciate all the different viewpoints and discussion.
  13. Let me clarify, I meant NM, not NA.
  14. Hi, I would like to know what is the correct way to address something. I identified a cache that I would like to attempt when I was the area attending a conference. It's about 4 hours from my home. This cache hadn't been found, or DNF'd, in 6 years. I sent a message to the CO who replied a few days later with "I don't know. I don't geocache anymore. The cache should get (sic) there." After this conversation, someone left a DNF. Should this be marked as NA? Edited to add: This CO hasn't logged a find since 11/2012. Thanks, LizzyRN
  15. My name is Liz, many people call me Lizzy. I'm a Registered Nurse, so LizzyRN!
  16. I will often just sign next to a stamp to save space. BTW....my brothers name is Mark and his email is Red Sox Mark.
  17. Hi all, I'm a newbie, just started in July. I have read that there is the capability to set up notifications for new caches in a set area. I cannot seem to find those instructions through searching here. Will someone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks, LizzyRN
  18. My first name is Lizbeth, people call me Liz. My monster loved ones call me Lizzy and I'm a Registered Nurse. Not very original!
  19. I have an etrex 30 and can see the hints without fail.
  20. Once I found out what COs prefer, I returned to my previous cache logs and added a little more of a story of what I remembered about the cache. And sometimes I make it even more creative. https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=af746958-d4ae-4562-8d51-e567c37a0015 For a cache with a palindrome theme: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=71c23838-2a89-411f-b37e-962dabc927aa WOW!
  21. Excellent advice! Thank you! Just remember, if it's a Public List and it's a multi or Mystery cache, DONT give out too much information in your added notes! (I know PP wouldn't!) Oops, something else I forgot. Thanks, Bear. I have created a bookmark list for puzzle caches where I've got the corrected coordinates figured out. That list is not "shared" or "public". B.
  22. Thank you! I see that you've created 3 different bookmark lists for 3 different challenges To add a cache that you have found, go to that cache page and then over on the top right, under the "found it" icon, there is the link for "bookmark". Click that and then you will be able to choose which bookmark list you want to add it to. Under the name of the cache there is a section called "For List" with a dropdown arrow. Use the dropdown to display the bookmark lists you've created and choose the one you want to add the cache to. B.
