  3. I was visiting this cache South of New Orleans, and parked my car on a dirt road that happened to be a levee. Seeing as though we don't have levees up here in Alberta, I didn't know that this was a faux paux. I found the cache, and was returning to my car when a member of the County Levee Police came roaring up on his quad. He informed me to get my car off the levee immediately. Turns out he was a super nice guy, and hoped to one day visit Canada. He informed me that in Louisiana, they are apparently quite strict about driving on levees, since it could be a terrorist threat.

I promised not to drive on any more of his levees, and was on my way.

Made me think of the song American Pie, and that it's somewhat outdated:

"Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was a terrorist target, so I had to move the car"...

    I like the rendention :)

While he's not whining - jaredloser is currenly at grossmont ER getting a CT scan - he took a spill at sandy creek cowboy at the bottle plant. He's OK, just getting checked out.

:( Oh My Gosh...is he ok? Please let us know......we all love that little loser.....

We hope he's alright too~ Hope they found something in there to look at! :o:o;);)

You just can't loose a loser ya know!

    Splashette

Sorry i thkn lakeside is still better LOSER! LOL

Best wishes for our little loser...let us know how he is doing

O'm'gosh, I'm so sorry. Not using a ladder for the find I suppose.

I can feel your pain loser-guy ... I took a fall in the kitchen yester-

day and smacked a rib into the kitchen countertop. Pretty painful

today and so I'm hoping for the best. ... don't need a cracked rib.

Must have been a sympathetic fall. Yes, I whined.

Let us know how the scan turned out.

    He's OK :D:D:D:D

We went by to find the ladder that we left in the near by bushes. We searched for 10 minutes, no ladder. I wonder where it went to? I guess someone needed a ladder. On the back to the burb, we noticed something on the first story wall. Jared went through a window and got a big stick, on the way back he slipped and smashed :o:o his head on the window jamb. Smashed sounds so much better than bumped. :P

Anyway -- no signs of a concussion :) - Went home - Ate a sandwich, bean and cheese burrito and ice cream, kept complaining that his head hurt (duh), but was still nauseous and light headed. So, off to Grossmont ER. After the triage nurse asked him if his neck hurt, bam - He was on the gurney with a c-collar.

Dr. said he was fine, but we did a head CT just to make sure and take away any possible excuse that he couldn't goto school today. :):D The Dr. discharged him with no restrictions.

Funny part we were right under the KIVA cache - Jared spotted the skylight tube as he rolled under it.

Sad part was I already found the cache, so I had no excuse to leave.

Very sad part is - Jared still needs to find the cache - he found the kiva but we DNF.

Never say yes to anything --- :D

00020124.gif At least he is smiling with that neck brace on. Glad to hear all is well. 00020263.gif

:grin:I'm so glad to hear my favorite loser is OK! I guess it takes more than that to finagle a day off school! ;)

By way of an email I gave Loser permission to score a find on SCCC #3.

Now I suppose everybody that bonks their head at the bottling plant will

    expect the same favor.

No bad words and remember what you vent now  - You may regret later! (SuperDave!)

Post about Friends, co-workers, family, geocachers, home depot employees.

    Hmmmm -- Geocachers --- Everyone's favorite :):D Kent Allard

Hey i was one of those!

  10. :) I have something real to whine about: went caching along the Patuxent River in Southern Maryland, saw a cottonmouth snake, pricked by brambles and got bitten by a million chiggers. I'm a mess now. Ive never even heard of a chigger and now I look like I have chickenpox! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! Whine Whine..and they itch!

San Diego caching is the BEST...

That's not too far from my old stomping grounds. :( I don't miss cottonmouths or copperheads. Plus they have Poison Oak, Poison Ivy, Poison Sumac and Virginia Creeper. I was a mess with that stuff when I was a kid.

:D:laughing: here's another OBTW...don't try to shave your legs when you have chiggers bites...OMG....that hurt...and I ran out of little bandaids!!!!:ph34r: No..I'm not blonde!

TMI (in adult language that means to much information)

  11. Claustrophobic Canyon GC11B4K - 1.5 difficulty/ 4 terrain

As dangerous a location as you will find in California. All of the hazards mother nature has to offer, plus some surly urban campers at the entrance.

SuperDave and I assisted Goblin Girl in her quest for this cache, and on the way out someone started hurling large rocks at us! SuperDave politely asked that they cease and desist, well maybe not so politely, and he was quite insistent. More rocks came flying out of the jungle, some landing on the street behind us.

Fortunately one of SDPD's finest happened to be riding by on his BMW and Dave flagged him down. Together the professionals entered the canyon and confronted the perp! After a stern talking-to the ne'er-do-well promised to behave and the officer promised to check on the 'campsite' tomorrow.

Everyday is an adventure! Rock on SuperDave!

cant be as bad as getting shot at by a bb gun!
