If you read the logs on THIS CACHE you will see the circumstances in which I removed a cache which wasn't mine.
A note was left on the cache page by the owner of one of the TBs in the cache asking if his TB was still in the cache. Since I was the person who had left it in the cache some 5/6 weeks earlier I offered to go and check.
When I got to the cache, I found that it had been muggled. Someone had stolen the ammo box it was in and had simply stuffed the cache contents into the hedge in a white plastic bag which made it very obvious to any passer by!
I made the decision to take the cache home, emailed the owner of the cache explaining what I had done and I also emailed the owner of the TB, explaining the situation and reassuring him that his TB was safe.
The owner of the cache popped by my house a few days later and collected his cache. He later replaced it nearby to the original spot and everyone was happy!

On a lighter note... Peter and Dave will turn into alcoholics by the time they've drunk all the free pints on offer!!!
They'll be needing to do a few mountain caches to work off all those extra calories!

OK - I understand now! Doh!
What I meant to say was...
"I met the man who later became my husband, in an internet chat room."
-
On that note.. why is it we rarely see a Brit in the geocaching chat room? Sure would be nice to have a more global crowd in there.
Jamie
My mum has told me to stay out of chat rooms.
Yeah, you never know who you might meet!
Actually, I met my husband in an internet chat room!

<edit> You can borrow 4 of my finds to make up for it
I couldn't possibly! You have fewer than me!!!!
-
It will be your 2 web cam caches.
I would guess. Will drop Ian an email.
Thanks for the reply, Deego.
But that only accounts for 2 of the 4 missing caches.
I've found 308 caches in total, 2 of those were abroad, 2 were webcam caches... that leaves another 2 which are "missing"!
Thank you for looking into this for me, it is much appreciated. (insert smiley face blowing a kiss!)

Congratulations to me... for reaching 300 today!!!
about time you were on 297 for AGES
:D
Big Congrats from me
:D
Brian (Deego)
Thanks Deego and everyone else who typed their congratulations.
Yes, I was "stuck" on 297 for a few weeks but I'm back out there on the hunt now.
A question for you, Deego...
Can you explain why the stats on GCUK are missing 4 of my caches. I understand that it won't register 2 of them as they were abroad but it's showing me as having found 302 caches when I've found 308!
If you can shed any light on this, I would appreciate it.
PS: It does seem to be up-to-date with the 4 caches I found yesterday and I haven't done any today!

I have an Magellan 310.... yes that old !
<edit>
Despite all this, I commonly get to caches on trips out with other geocachers before them.......
<edit>
Only because my Extrex needed new batteries and was losing accuracy!
(That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!)

To apply the guidelines as laid down by gc.com, which I may have inadvertently broken and therefore why I am trying to de-escalate the situation.
Thank you
I shall ask nothing further.

Please, no more.
I will try to answer queries here, to the best of my ability, and within my remit.
Dave
What IS your remit?

Eckington
Did I see mention somewhere recently of a reviewer's forum?
Will you be expressing your anger and displeasure at this interference in that forum?

I mostly sign the phyisical log TNLNSL TFTC. If it's a nice day and I'm in the mood, or the cache is stellar, I'll write a few lines. Otherwise I save it for the on line log. Lets face it how many cache owners go to the cache and read every entry? I enjoy reading the log notifications for my caches and think others will be reading theirs more than the phyisical log too.
I find caches, I hide caches. I support the local organizations. How am I hurting the sport again?
DITTO!

I bumped into a cacher last Sunday who, when I told him who I am said "Ah! The legendary Leoness".
Does that make me famous amongst the caching fraternity?
:D
-
Actually, it's a lot nearer to you than it is to me!
-
Looks like one tailor-made for me!
Fight you for it!
Lisa
RRRRRROOOOOOAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!

Looks like one tailor-made for me!

Yes, I have 'phoned Seasider a couple of times for help and have been the "fairy godmother" called a few times by H******** H******!
I don't like to be told exactly where the cache is hidden but rather, to have another clue so that I can still find the cache for myself.
Similarly, I will not directly tell anyone asking for help exactly where the cache is but will give them a clue/hint to help them to find it for themselves.

Wow! Now I know! None in the UK then?
Mrs Gyp
There might not be any officially in the UK but I would think that THIS CACHE might qualify.

Thanks,
We just racked up our 20th find today after getting a GPS for Christmas!
20 finds in less than a week! Looks like the regular numbers cachers have got some new competition!!!
I'm sure Deego will invite you to submit your stats to his Cacher of the Month league table before long.
-
You're very welcome!
I see from your profile that you're new to geocaching too, so welcome to the mad house and the new addiction!!!!!!
-
You can buy them online at THIS website.
