  1. I didn't quite understand the issue so I opened the GCA1R22 in my Firefox 121.0.1 and Chrome 121.0.6167.85. The cachepage looks identical in both browsers.

The Franymarie's "archive" log or GeoCrater's "post reviewer note" can't be found in either one. This screenshot is actually taken from older (and archived) cache GC829MG. You're apparently mixing screenshots from two different caches here.

Please note that the listing of the newer GCA1R22 consists of copy of logs from the archived GC829MG - hence the weird formatting. If you scrolled down in your Firefox you would get the correct log section that is formatted as usual.

  2. I've discovered an image display issue in "Yours" latest activity feed. Only occurs when I have both landscape and portrait-oriented images attached to a log. The issue affects the landscape image width depending on which image I open first:

    1. when I first click the landscape-oriented image, it displays in its expected size. I can then switch to the portrait one using keyboard arrows / mouse and back. They both are of the same size (just 90° rotated). No problem here.
    2. but when I first open the portrait-oriented image and THEN switch to the landscape one, the latter keeps the width of the former (hence appears smaller).

  3. As to the image part of a log: I am just writing my first log in the new logging flow. I have entered image name and omitted the description (not needed). After clicking "Update" and getting back to the log form there is still "Add details" under the image. (?)

Only if I write anything in the decription it changes to "Edit details".

So I think that in my case there should as well be "Edit details" as there IS already something to edit (the image name).

  4. "Players must select log types from a dropdown menu. It includes all available log types depending..."

Like really all, including OAR and RAR? No more "Report a problem"? That would be good. :) (you could have attached a screenshot of the dropdown items)

"reason for deleting others’ logs..." - finally!

As to the "Great story" and "Helpful" - I don't mind the feature, I have actually assigned either flag to lots of logs since I like browsing through logs. But the cache page is unfriendly to this feature - it does not show how many logs have GS or Helpful and does not remember user's preference regarding the log order. I actually agree with Arisoft's call for "something valuable"...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to try the new logging flow.

Save the filter's URL as a browser bookmark. That's what bookmarks are made for:

Thanks, I didn't actually notice they store the filter options into query string.

I've created a couple of bookmars and they sort of work, just:

    1) map layer always returns to "Geocaching" from others that I choose

    2) zoom is not kept as well (it IS in query string but for whatever reason always switches to 14 no matter if I stored the bookmark with zoom=12 or 16)

I no longer care about 1) as I used GCLH's "Replace map layers" function and have set OSM Carto as default but it still would be neat to have Carto (mapnik)  among the map layers options for those who do not use / know GCLH.

I always ask myself one question.

Would I want to come here and find a geocache? If I have to think about it I move on. Never a nano.

Yep, that's what I do too. I even advanced to another question: "Would I want to return here for maintenance?"  That's what stopped me from creating a series of 4 caches around my hometown. Those places were actually OK for a one time visit but at least half of them I would not want to visit again. All my active caches are on such places that going there for maintenance would compensate for the inconvenience of repairing the cache and/or looking for a different hiding spot.

  7. We once found an unpublished cache during search for a mystery final (we were attempting brute force ;)). We logged inside and it went live two days later. We considered it sort of "preFTF" and left the FTF honor (including swag items) to those who came after the official start signal. :)

Such a coincidence was not frequent back then (in 2008). There were not that many caches (and cachers) around.

  8. A cache actually does not need to have much for me to give it a FP. OK, I think it should have a logbook. :) But I take giving FPs in such a selfish way - to build my Favorite List. Everybody does that, just some may not have yet noticed.

So it is simple: if something interesting (memorable) happened during the search or I met fine people, I give the cache a FP. The rule is - if I open any cache in my Favorite List and read my find log there, I will be able to clearly identify why it got a FP from me. :)
