Basecamp is easy to use - I'm interested only in simple functions - it looks very detailed - shall stick with the simple things to start with - was able to see all the caches that were loaded - notified me that my 10 needed updated software and that was straightforward. When I ordered the etrix 10 I had them load local caches - we have found many of them - how can I either mark as found or delete them? When connecting to the computer (Mac), I do not find the list of caches - not sure why. As an aside - to download from Geocaching.com to the 10, I must use Safari - it won't work with Chrome which I usually use. And I can find them using a spelling search but they are not listed under 'caches' - am wondering if the 10 shows the closest 19 no matter where you are - in other words, the 19 shown would change based on your location?? Have not investigated this but shall. Thanks for any suggestions or/and help. Sue

Thanks for the responses - checked on this TB - the owner placed it 12/29/03, it was picked up 1/1/04 and has been moved from cache to cache since by one person - perhaps s/he is tracking their caches -

Have just run into a new (for us) type of cacher - one who just takes the TB with them from cache to cache - logging them into and out of a cache - find this strange - is it something that many people do?? We're fairly new to this caching and are enjoying it very much but find this behavior puzzling. Thanks for any insight.

Add another 'lurker' to the ever growing list - have just recently discovered the various threads - and haven't lurked enough to be put off by the harsh ones. We've been caching since mid-summer and are putting together 'stuff' for our first cache - Am I right is assuming (I know, I know) that you send in your plan and description to a 'checker' and wait for their reply to actually put the cache out?? Also, will they, if asked, make suggestions and comments? Shall continue to lurk and see if I get any answers!!
