  1. Most police know right from wrong, and will recognize that they will be dealing with a person who probably has committed other vandalism in the past. Here is Comcast's contact page URL. There is a check box for "Report internet service abuse" http://www.comcast.net/memberservices/contactus/contact_us.jsp "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  2. Evidence that he has gone onto public property and stolen what he knows is the property of other people. He also has a link to Geocaching.com on his links page, which could put him in jeaopardy of a harrassment suit. You don't have to win a lawsuit to make a person's life miserable. I will contribute to the fund to pay for legal action expenses. I'm going to alert the local police, but could someone please get in touch with the ISP? 3. Someone should make copies of it (software & paper) to use as evidence in case ComCast does pull it. "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it" [This message was edited by Mark 42 on August 20, 2003 at 09:31 AM.]
  4. Thirty seconds ago (08:32 PDT) I went to his website... I went back just now to double check the URL, so I could report it to the ISP, and it is now gone. But, the ISP has his address and identification, so I think legal action is in order. We should email all of the owners of caches he plundered... too bad we didn't identify all of the cache pluder pictures he had posted. "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  5. Supposing I wanted to know the coords of anything at cedar point... Let's say... "Hotel Breakers... 6. I read it, but that wasn't part of what I was considering or commenting on. I knew someone who was at Daytona trying to sell extra tickets to a Nascar race at face value only because he couldn't use them... the (real) police took them away. I told him if it were they would have to have given me a receipt, badge numbers, and a warrant to seize my property, or arrest me. He honestly didn't know that it was illegal to sell them on the Racetrack property. The police could have just told him so, and he would have left, and gone somewhere off of the property with a cardboard sign or something (legal). I would not have forfeited my GPS either. I would have said "okay, I'll take it out and lock it in my car". If that was not adequate, i would have left, and then made a stink about it. If I had a season pass, I would demand a refund, stating that the stipulation "no GPS" was not in the contract implied by the pass, and therefore I want a refund. Perhaps I need it to find my car in the lot, or for some other convenience directly related to my use of the pass... therefore, I cannopt fully enjoy the pass as I (reasonably) expected when I purchased it. 7. Click This Image to see what the policies are regarding use of the Groundspeak Geocaching Logo... Click This Image for a Google search that will yield vendors who make coins... "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  8. How about a standard Bumper sticker like this: And a 3x3 or 4x4 (parking sticker) approx like this: "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it" [This message was edited by Mark 42 on August 19, 2003 at 11:38 AM.]

  10. The image below gets my vote for a bumper sticker graphic (perhaps just a bit larger): "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  11. Heres code you can copy/paste, and the resultant way that it displays (a clickable image)... "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  12. Ahhh, there it is! I even looked down there, but aomehow missed it. Here's the link (Click the picture): "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it" [This message was edited by Mark 42 on August 19, 2003 at 08:40 AM.]
  13. I have nothing to complain about... dammit! "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  14. Here's another Link to nice Geocoin examples. Where do some of these people get them engraved? They seem pretty detailed & ornate. I'll have to see if I can make a steel mold to cast some out of aluminum. BTW, I submitted a design for the Washington state coin. If my coin gets selected for the finals, I'll let y'all know when the voting begins so you can see it & the competition. If you like it, maybe you could even vote for it! 15. I looked everyehre, and couldn'd find anything about Logo Usage. There was an old message thread that had it mentioned, but the link that was given back then is now a dead link. [This message was edited by Mark 42 on August 18, 2003 at 03:38 PM.]
  16. If I were doing it, I'd try to find a nearby public street to park dor free and walk in. If there is a good (fre) parking area (like a public street) nearby, put the coords in the description. If you haven't placed the cache yet (future reference) you can probably find a place near the edge of the park where there is no parking fee, and place the cache near the free parking. "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  17. Check out This Message Thread. Geocaches can be found w/o a GPS receiver, but it takes a bit of reading the log entries to figure out which caches are good candidates to do w/o a GPSr "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"

  19. quote:Originally posted by TotemLake:...That is, when I reached the coordinates, can I look at my feet and see the cache? My stats currently stand at 45% at GZ versus 55% anything past 3 feet. C'mon, you don't really have 3 feet, do you? "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  20. quote:Originally posted by Woodsters Outdoors: quote:(so far I have a container and a pen, but my wife & kids will be out of town next week, so I should have contents for it pretty soon )Hope that's not a secret code that your wife and kids will be in the cache...Hmm... I hadn't thought of that.
  21. I'm still tryint to get past that proposed imposed 15 find requirement so I can place my first cache (so far I have a container and a pen, but my wife & kids will be out of town next week, so I should have contents for it pretty soon ) I'm not really too concerned which way they are, but was really more curious what other people prefer, and why some are one way, and others are the opposite. I would do this even if there were no stats kept at all. I have yet to be a "first to find", but I figure if one comes online while I'm on vacation and have time, I'll give it a try, otherwise, I'm not really in that hunt. It'd be fun to get there first, but not something to crow about. "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
  22. Sometimes I feel a bit cheated when I have to go to more than one cache to get the coords for another, or there is a "bonus cache", and after finding two or more caches I only get to log one find. I'm trying not to get hung up on the numbers game, but I guess I like to know how many I have been to at a glance of my personal stats. What do y'all think? "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"

  24. Another question: Is it okay to put two or three TBs in a cache, (or to add one or two if there is one in it already)? "I'm not Responsible... just ask my wife, She'll confirm it"
