    terra cache

Terracaching trys to provide a more unique caching expirence. Terra caches are only posted on Terracaching.com. The rules are also a bit different, you can place a cache any where in the world, not just in your caching area. But there will usually be only one cache in an area. There won't be 5 in one park like in geocaching. Also you have to apply for membership. And other members of the site have to "sponsor" you.
  2. How far is the furthest a TB has traveled total? And what is the longest one trip distance?
  3. I have a Mac too. Is the network KML only for Windows?
  4. I found the site promoting the DVD in question http://www.finalevents.com/Home.asp
  5. "Solicitations are off-limits. For example, caches perceived to be posted for religious, political, charitable or social agendas are not permitted. Geocaching is supposed to be a light, fun activity, not a platform for an agenda." The cache was not intended to be a religous solicitation but that DVD is and I think it is against the rules, like the rules say Geocaching is supposed to be a light, fun activity, not a platform for an agenda. I don't think a global warming DVD or a religous apocalypse DVD are appropriate for caches. Both ideas are promoting an angenda not fun and light activity.
  6. I downloaded the Geocache Network KML for Google Earth and it will not let me view geocaches on Google Earth. It says "You have exceed the allowed number of views for the day". I haven't looked at any geocaches ever on Google Earth.

    New

What is the problem? Is it that you can't enter coordinates? Or you need to get to the screen that points you to the cache?
  8. On your GPSr you select mark waypoint. And, assuming you have sattilite reception, those coordinates will be the coordinates of where your standing. A lot of people recommend averaging a couple of different points to get a more accurate point.
  9. I think I need to get a bigger bag. But right now I have: Notes Pocket Knife Knife Swag TB's GPSr Pens Pencils Batteries I should have Plastic Bags Bug Spray Sun Screen First Aid Kit And that about all that fits, thats why I need a new bag. I did have clippers to battle blackberry bushes but I took them out.
  10. How do I find caches near the highwayon a Mac? I heard GSAK does that but it does not work on Macs. Any advise would be great.
  11. How to purchase a Premium Membership for another user: 1)Visit Signal’s Corner Store. 2)If you don’t already have a Store account, create one and log in. (This is separate from your Groundspeak user account) 3)Click the picture of Signal on the front page (or go directly to the annual membership page). 4)Towards the bottom of the page is a field labeled “Username to Upgrade/Renew”. This is where you type in the username of the person you want to give the membership to. 5)Ensure the Quantity is correct (default is one year) and click the “Add to Cart” button. 6)On the next screen, click the “Checkout” button to purchase the Premium Membership. 7)When supplying credit card information, please note that the security code on the back of the card is the last 3 digits. 8)Once at the Review page, click the “Place order” button to complete the process. 9)You will know your purchase was successful when you are presented with an order number. You will want to record this number for your records. The Premium Membership will be applied within two (2) business days. I found this information here: http://portal.Groundspeak.com/blogs/howto/...Membership.aspx
  12. I don't like hanging on to them I want to move them on hopefully to their goal.
  13. If you happen to have the cache in hand I would say "Oh my god get out of here" and kneel down clutching the cache and count down from ten. Especially if its an ammo can.
  14. I don't use the PQ that often, I don't do paperless caching but I still subscribe because I do use them once in a while and I don't want to miss out on premium members only caches. Also, I use the map feature a lot.
  15. Maybe the house is loaded with mass amounts of treasure and a wealthy person left the key for some one to find and get all the treasure.... but I doubt it.
  16. I'm a premium member but I pay on a month by month basis... which I should probably change. It comes out of my Paypal acount so I usually don't even notice.
  17. Yesterday I found a DVD that was produced by a religous orginazation about how the world is going to end, I left it there. I don't even know if your allowed to have that in a cache. Im going to go read the rules.
  18. How far is the new spot from the old? If its too far then you might consider making it a new cache and archive the old one.
  19. I've seen some intresting micro containers online. For example a fake piece of rebar that you put in a concrete parking block and fake electric boxes or fake pinecones. I would like to find ones like that every once in a while.
  20. I was reading just today on the itsnotaboutthenumbers.com website the longest log and it was some one who logged "Z Z Z..." repeated 2000 times. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LID=28340926 Thats the Z page
  21. It could be that the accuracy of the owners GPSr is off by 20, this could account for you being off by that much. Or the cache could have slowly migrated from people setting it down in the wrong location.
  22. The limit is 2000 words if I am not mistaken. I would post a found it log with the last section of the text and then a note with the first section of text. Logs are not sorted by type but by the order that they are posted. What cache have you found that you have so much to say about?
  23. I guess your right, mine still finds caches so theres not a real problem.
  24. I agree with Bad_CRC I don't like micros.
